Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Demon invasion part 3

Two people just died, without anyone seeing anything. People were starting to panic, looking around to see where the monstrosity would come from next. But they were too slow.

The sound of tearing flesh resounded again, this time not accompanied by a yelp. When they looked over they saw a body, a headless body with it's head rolling a couple of feet away, crimson blood profusely spraying out from the headless stump. The headless corpse then lost the strength to stand as it fell down with a sickening thud.

The fear was starting to deeply seep in, they couldn't bare to stand around anymore just to die without seeing it coming and so... They ran. Like headless chickens they began to scatter in every direction, hoping that the demon would give chase to others, giving some of them enough time to find a place to hide. Again they were wrong, they had underestimated the speed of a powerful middle class demon.

Juggernaut moved like a phantom, only leaving after images behind. He would appear behind his victim and rip them apart, only to disappear and appear behind another person and tear them apart. His immense speed, strength and powerful claws, allowed him to do all of this with ease. Picking them off like cabbages. His claws met no resistance, phasing through their flesh like a hot knife through butter. They stood no chance against him. Before they could even get far, he was already upon them, his powerful claws ready to descend upon their fragile bodies. And with every sprint of his powerful legs, he would leave a bloody trail behind.

It didn't take long for the streets to be littered with corpses of varying injuries. Some had their bodies torn to shreds, their insides sprawled all over the ground. Some were littered all over the walls of buildings, flicked aside like disgusting bugs. Some had their heads bit off, with only sharp teeth marks were the head had been. Others had their bodies squished into a bloody meat paste, their bodies no longer recognisable.

There were those that had died instantly, lucky enough not to experience the agonising pain of having their body's torn apart. But not all of them were that lucky, some of them survived their ordeals. They had the pleasure of feeling the maddening pain, pain so great it drove them to insanity, while to some, it led to numbness. They lied there, weak, unable to move, as they bled to death, their whole lives flashing before their eyes. They were those that excepted it, excepted that they were going to die and that no one was going to save them and then there were those who couldn't except it. They had dreams they wanted to accomplish, places they wanted to visit, families that were still waiting for them back home, some even wished to say one last 'I love you' before they passed but, those were just far-fetched dreams now, all they could do was watch as others suffered the same fate as them, until the last spark of flame went out and they finally died, leaving the world behind, their hearts full of regret.

Juggernaut now stood in the middle of the bloody streets, his figure dripping with the fresh blood of his victims. Even after going on a killing spree and killing dozens of people, he didn't appear tired at all, as if he could go for another round of slaughtering. Unfortunately he killed everyone... And that was not a good thing. Killing was okay but, Juggernaut over did it. He was supposed to leave enough people alive for the imps to take to the realm of demons, now that he killed all the humans outside, there was no one to take back with them, which created a problem.

The imps finally arrived were Juggernaut was, only to find a disturbing scene. The bodies weren't what they found disturbing, it was the fact that the were no humans around that they found disturbing.

"I told you we should've moved quicker. Now that big brute killed all the humans". Said a blue skinned imp, he looked distraught at what to do.

"Lord Kraven is gonna have our heads for this".

"What do we do?".

"Don't look at me, I'm also clueless".

"Where the heck is lord Croviel when you need him?".

"He's probably out there hunting for women to add to his collection".

"Doesn't he get tired of that?".

"He's a weirdo".

"Idiots!, your going off topic, we have a situation here, we need to find humans to take back with us before 'they' arrive".

"I get what you mean but, who said you can boss us around?".

"Are you being serious right now?".

"What if I am?".

The imps were starting to argue and Juggernaut was finding it annoying. He gave them a aside glance, his dense killing intent causing them to shut up. He then decided to show them the difference between a middle class demon and a lower class demon. He walked up to a random building that had the steel alloy shield in place. Without wasting time, he pulled his fist back and then...

*BOOOM!*.

His fist connected with the alloy shield, causing the whole building to shake. He pulled his fist back and noticed that the shield didn't have a single scratch. This didn't bother him as he was just testing out the sturdiness of the alloy shield. Now, he was getting serious. He pulled his huge fist back, causing a gust of wind behind him and then like a bullet, he fired his fist against the shield. The result...

*BOOOOM!*.

The building and everything around it on a 3 kilometre radius experienced seismic activity. The whole ground shook, causing the imps to lose their balance and fall on their butts. Juggernaut pulled his fist back and observed his work. The steel alloy shield now had a huge fist shaped dent on it's surface. However, the shield still held. Juggernaut wasn't discouraged by this result, now that he had confirmed that the alloy shield can indeed suffer damage under his assault. He was going to pummel it till it collapsed. And so, he began his intense onslaught on the shield.

Location: [La Cuisine restaurant]

Time : [ 20:27, Right after the city wide warning was issued]

Alora, who was frightened by the explosion, became even more concerned about the situation outside after hearing the warning. "Z, Do you think it's what I think it is?".

"Yes, it's the demons". His expression was serious as he answered Alora's question. He took his sister's hand that was on the table and gently squeezed it, while forcing a smile. "It's okay, As long as I'm here, nothing will happen to you. Your big brother will protect you".

Hearing what Zyran said and feeling his warm hand upon hers, made Alora feel assured. Even though she knew that her brother was but a human who couldn't go up against a demon. Not wanting to worry him any longer, she flashed him a smile. "Then I'm assured of my safety if your protecting me big bro".

"Of course you should be, your big brother is strong after all. Those demons wouldn't dare to lay a hand on you". He spoke with his chin high, his tone oozing with confidence. Fake confidence. Of course he knew he could do nothing against a powerful demon if it showed up but, he would still put up a fight if it meant that his sister could get away.

"If that's the case, then this little sister is in safe hands". She was giggling, as she played along with her brother. She had already forgotten about the situation outside.

That was until a large number of people coming from outside, started flooding the restaurant . There were so many of them that the restaurant was starting to run out of room.

A middle aged man wearing a black suit, who had neatly combed brown hair and brown eyes, began to speak. "Everyone please do not panic, we're just following protocol. Would all patrons please exit your tables, a staff member would then remove both your table and chairs. This is to create more room for the people coming from outside. Again, please do not panic, everything is under control". With everyone already aware of such a protocol, none showed reluctance to vacate their tables since time was of the essence.

Zyran and Alora stood up and left their table, which was then taken by one of the restaurants employees along with their chairs. Alora tightly clutched Zyran's hand, not wanting to be separated from him once the restaurant became too crowded.

Once enough room was opened, Zyran and his sister along with the other patrons, were then told to move back, as more and more people started entering by the second, filling up the restaurant.

By the time 40 seconds were left, Zyran and Alora found themselves in a corner, being tightly squeezed. Not wanting his sister to suffocate too much, Zyran gently pushed her behind him and then stood Infront of her, leaning on the wall behind her, both of them now facing each other.
