TOUCH MY SOUL

"As far back as I can remember they've been like this messy, evil, and abusive family. They did them dirty over and over, but she never stopped loving her family even after all the heartache that they put her through." Zy said with a sigh looking out the glass window to her right, watching the rain come down and wash the brightest green grass she has ever seen. She had made a promise to tell her story, Saber's story that is. She had friended her right before The great fall of civilization as everyone calls it. Zy looked back at the young woman scribbling down every word she said. She looked up at Zy as if to tell her to continue. "She was abused in every way you could think of until children's services took her away from most of her family. She and her sister 18 months older than her were placed together. Their first home was abusive and would forget to feed them and her second home was with her aunt Bo from her mother's side of the family. The two of them were happy there for the most part. They had moments of sadness and pain missing their family, but at this time in their life they didn't know that their family was conniving, narcissistic, and psychotic people. Her family would do anything and everything for her to be just as miserable or even more miserable than they were. As they say misery loves company." She sighed again as she thought about Saber and everything that her friend had to endure in life and how through all of that still find a way to love people. "Then a few years later after the two girls were placed with aunt Bo, well then that's when their oldest big brother got placed with them. That's when things got bad and their aunt started getting abusive towards them. Kinda runs in the whole family, ya know? That's why Saber would always say she had been switched at birth." She chuckled a little bit and half smiled. She pulled out the bracelet of Saber's and started rolling the beautiful crackled glass beads between her fingers. Her gaze drifted off into the woods at the edge of the woods. "Well at 12 she went back to live with her mother after several years of abuse from her aunt. She didn't want to go back but the courts sent her back anyways." She slipped the bracelet back into her front right pocket. Then walked over to pour her a glass of her favorite drink, a Mojito, from the chilled translucent pitcher on the bar counter. "Would you like one?" She asked the reporter. "Umm…yes please?" She said while she turned herself towards Zy to continue to pay attention, not wanting to miss anything. Zy handed her a beautiful Martini glass with a glass butterfly resting on the stem of the glass and picked up her own. Turning to face the reporter again she leaned back on the bar counter and took a sip. "Mmmm" Zy couldn't quite replicate her friends recipe, but this one was the closest so far. "So things were pretty bad for her the moment she went back and they never got better and stayed better. It was a wild crazy ride for her. She lost pretty much everything before the fall and then once civilization went…"Zy sighed. "She lost the rest except those monsters that called themselves family." She had to sit down, she walked over to the chair across from the reporter and relaxed into the comfortable cushioned hammock chair. After taking another sip and clearing her throat, She said, "Saber was distraught when I found her, they had taken from her the last things that truly loved her. She had this beautiful cat that would go everywhere with her. His fur was like silk and he was just a sweet little guy as I recall her telling me. Well they got to the point where they couldn't find anything to eat and wouldn't travel out of their comfort zone. Then one night when she went to sleep they made the choice to kill and eat him. The next morning she woke up to find what was left of him. She stayed with them for awhile after that though. It's kinda like she had Stockholm syndrome in a way. It wasn't until they killed their first human and ate him… that she finally left. That's where our story begins, me saber's. It's definitely a crazy story.."
