Chapter 29 - ch 29 the oracle warning

The sun hung high in the sky as Cordelia surveyed the training grounds of Camp Half-Blood, where the demigods were busy honing their skills. But her gaze was drawn to her familiar, Bubbles, who had grown significantly in size since their last quest. The once-small sea turtle now appeared almost as large as a dog, its shell shimmering with a vibrant blue hue. Beside her, Flame, the fire element turtle, flickered with energy, its fiery markings brightening in response to Cordelia's presence.

"Look at you two!" Cordelia exclaimed, grinning at her familiars. "You've both grown so much."

Bubbles let out a soft, reassuring sound, while Flame flicked his tail, sending a small flame dancing in the air.

Nearby, Annabeth was tending to her familiar, Luna, the ice fox. Luna had also expanded in size and strength, her fur glistening like freshly fallen snow. The ice fox curled protectively around Annabeth's legs, occasionally letting out playful yips.

"Seems like our familiars are ready for anything," Annabeth remarked, her tone light but her eyes reflecting the weight of their responsibilities.

Luke approached, leading his familiar, Astra, the roc bird, who now had impressive wings that spread wide and shone in the sunlight. "Astra's been practicing he dives. I think he could easily carry me into battle now."

Nico and Bianca joined them, both accompanied by their familiars. Raven, Nico's shadow panther, prowled with a sleek grace, his eyes glowing faintly in the dim light. Bianca's familiar, Bell, the silver shadow fox, played around Raven, their contrasting colors forming a striking image of friendship and power.

"Looks like we're all equipped for the challenges ahead," Bianca said, her voice steady, though concern flickered in her eyes.

Clarisse strode up next, with her unicorn lamb, Jewel, following close behind. Jewel had grown as well, her horn shimmering like crystal and her fleece even fluffier than before. "We'll need every bit of strength we have for what's coming," she said, her expression serious.

As the group gathered, Chiron called for their attention, his face reflecting the gravity of the situation. "I have received a warning from the Oracle," he announced, his voice grave. "There is a prophecy related to the Blood Moon, which is approaching. We must be on high alert, as it foretells the escape of some Titans from Tartarus."

The group exchanged worried glances. "We can't let that happen," Cordelia said, determination rising in her chest.

"The prophecy reads:

When the Blood Moon rises high,

Titan shadows pierce the sky.

A chosen few must brave the night,

To face the dark and bring the light."

"Chosen few?" Luke echoed, brow furrowing. "Who does that include?"

"Cordelia, Annabeth, Luke, Clarisse, Bianca, and Nico," Chiron replied, locking eyes with each of them. "You are the ones meant to embark on this new quest."

The weight of the task ahead settled heavily on Cordelia's shoulders. "What about Grover and Thalia?" she asked urgently.

"They need our help," Annabeth added, her eyes fierce. "If we can find the Golden Fleece, it may also aid in waking Thalia."

"Then we'll do it," Clarisse declared, her voice unwavering. "We can't let the Titans wreak havoc again."

Nico nodded, determination in his gaze. "I can feel it—something is stirring in the shadows."

As they prepared for the quest, Cordelia felt a surge of hope and strength from her friends and familiars. "Let's make sure we do this together. We'll save Grover, Thalia, and protect our camp."

The group shared a moment of solidarity, their familiars surrounding them, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. The bond between them had never felt stronger, and together, they would navigate the darkness of the approaching Blood Moon.

the Titans' impending escape looming over them. Each step will test their strength, courage, and the bonds of friendship they've forged.

As the group gathered in the main cabin to prepare for their quest, Cordelia busied herself restocking her magical bag. She loved the feeling of being organized and ready for anything, especially knowing that their familiars would accompany them, their presence offering comfort and strength.

"Okay, let's see what I can fit in here," she said, pulling out various items and packing them with care. She started with the snacks she had baked—chocolate chip cookies, energy bars, and muffins infused with magical ingredients to boost their stamina. Each treat glimmered slightly, promising a burst of energy when needed.

"Don't forget the drinks!" Annabeth called, already pulling out her own supplies. "We need hydration for the journey."

Cordelia nodded and added bottles of her special fruit-infused water, which not only quenched thirst but also provided healing properties. Next, she carefully added herbs and ingredients for cooking, ensuring they would be able to whip up hearty meals during their travels.

"And of course, I can't forget the medical supplies," she murmured, tucking in potions and first aid items that could help heal any injuries they might sustain on their quest.

As she organized, her magical pop-up tent lay folded in the bottom of her bag. It was an invaluable asset; not only could it fit everyone comfortably, but it could also expand to accommodate their needs, growing in size as necessary.

"Do we need to bring anything else?" Cordelia asked, looking around at her friends.

"I'll add some extra weapons," Luke said, rummaging through the weapon rack. "Just in case we encounter anything unexpected."

"Spare clothes and shoes!" Bianca chimed in, eyeing her own outfit. "It's always good to have options."

Clarisse nodded, tossing in a few extra weapons of her own. "And maybe some armor. We're going into unknown territory."

Nico glanced at Cordelia's bag, impressed. "I still can't believe how much you can fit in there."

"It's all about magical engineering," Cordelia said with a grin, packing the last of the supplies. "I learned from the best."

With everything finally packed, they gathered together in a circle, their familiars resting close by. Bubbles and Flame nestled against Cordelia's legs, Luna perched attentively on Annabeth's shoulder, Astra circled above, and Raven and Bell sat protectively by Nico and Bianca.

"Alright," Cordelia said, her heart swelling with confidence. "Let's make sure we look out for each other. We're stronger together, and with our familiars by our sides, we can face whatever comes our way."

They exchanged determined nods, each familiar reflecting their bond with its owner, ready to stand by them through the trials ahead. With the golden fleece and their friends' lives on the line, the group set forth, stepping into the unknown with courage and unity.
