I pinched myself in real-time, trying to convince myself that I was experiencing a fake reality, but nothing changed.
Damien's eyes felt cold as he stared down at me. He had initiated the rejection which I found hard to accept.
My heart bled, like a thousand knives had impaled it but it was beating harder than it had ever done in my life. I barely had the strength to stand, my knees trembled like reeds.
I gasped for air as the shock became too much to bear.
"Are you listening to me?" Damien grabbed my arm tightly. "I'm rejecting you! Isn't it what you always wanted all this time? Why aren't you saying anything?!"
"Damien, why?" That was all I managed to let out as my throat felt constricted with bags of pain.
