Damien
I watched from the second floor as Arielle's group made their way through the shadows to the fence. It was a relief to me that they hadn't faced any problems so far.
After all the preparation that I poured into it.
I had overheard Riley and Arielle's discussion some days ago, about Riley trying to leave with Arielle. It was a coincidence that her plan fell in line with my own and I was able to implement it to save Arielle's life.
Now all they had to do was to leave this place safely, and then Arielle's life would be spared.
I even went as far as to change the shift rotation schedule for the guards so they wouldn't clash.
To say I was fine was a lie, I never thought it could be hard like that. When I started talking, I couldn't stop, I didn't want Arielle to know how bad I felt.
I wanted to hug her tightly when she cried but at the same time, I was angry I fell hard for her like that.
