Whatever magic that was starting to form between us instantly came to a halt as an explosion suddenly filled the air— The rogues were back.
I drew away from Arielle and got on my feet. There was smoke coming out in the direction of the kitchen at the end of the palace. Shit!
"Arielle! Get to your room. Stay there until everything is sorted out."
She nodded and I started making my way towards the door when she grabbed the end of my shirt.
"What?" I growled as I turned to her.
Arielle looked everywhere but my face. "Please... be careful..." She said shyly.
My heart took a big leap, and everything took a strange pause before I snapped out of it. "Yeah, thanks." I managed to say. But I looked at her twice before turning away.
She was a strange girl.
