Chapter 203 - Chapter 203: Requesting a Battle

"I accept your surrender, but I will not let you go. However, I will give you the treatment that a former king deserves."

Daenerys was stunned for a moment and said to Tommen.

Nodding to Daenerys, Tommen stood aside.

"The Tyrells are willing to surrender!" Following Tommen, the Queen of Thorns pushed away her granddaughter's hand, walked forward and said.

"Okay, Lady Olenna, we'll talk later." After speaking to Olenna, Daenerys looked at the other nobles.

"The Redwyn family is willing to surrender!"

"The Marevus family is willing to surrender!"

"The Rossby family is willing to surrender!"......

Seeing that King Tommen and Highgarden had chosen to surrender, the crowd became agitated again, and the nobles no longer hesitated and expressed their opinions one after another.

A few minutes later, only two people standing in the middle of the stage had not expressed their opinions.

Looking at the two men, one old and one young, in the audience, Daenerys frowned slightly. She didn't blame them for not expressing their opinions, but she couldn't understand why they, as her subjects, were still insisting when even King Tommen no longer opposed her.

Daenerys was not the only one who looked at the two in surprise. All the nobles in King's Landing, including Tommen, were puzzled as to why they were still standing there.

On the stage, Barristan looked at the two people standing in the middle and his expression was not as surprised as the others. He walked closer to Daenerys and whispered a few words in her ear.

[It turns out they are Sam's father and brother! ]

Hearing Barristan's whisper, Drogon suddenly realized that these two people were the ones who were captured by Daenerys in the previous drama and refused to surrender, and were burned to charcoal by the black dragon. He didn't expect them to do the same thing again now.

Sam's family? Daenerys felt that the Tarly family sounded familiar to her after hearing Barristan's introduction, and only remembered it after Drogon reminded her.

Seeing them standing there still hesitating, Daenerys thought for a moment and said, "Lord Tarly, your eldest son Samwell has gone to the Citadel and is about to become a maester. I don't think he wants to hear the unfortunate news about his father, brother, and family after returning from the Citadel!"

Sam studied the medical books in the Citadel in order to treat Shireen. Daenerys knew that Drogon had a good impression of Sam, and she didn't want Sam's father and brother, who were treating Shireen, to die in her hands.

Sam's father Randyll, who was still hesitant, was very surprised to hear that Daenerys actually knew about his useless son Sam.

The Tarly family takes pride in martial virtues, and their motto is "Be the first on the battlefield." Randall would never allow his good-for-nothing eldest son Sam to inherit his position, so he sent him to the Wall to be a night watchman to make way for his younger brother Dickon.

The reason why he hesitated now was because not only did he lose the battle today, but he also violated the orders of the Tyrell family to which he had sworn allegiance. He was only forced to stop defending the city and did not turn against the King's Landing defenders. This also made it difficult for him to face the Tyrell family.

As a vassal of House Tyrell in the Riverlands, Olenna was of course well aware of Randyll's bad temper. She was also very angry that he did not turn against them and attack the King's Landing army this time, and was planning to go back and give him a good beating.

But I didn't expect that he would be so stubborn that he was unwilling to submit to Daenerys.

What she didn't expect was that Daenerys was actually familiar with the eldest son of the Night's Watch from the Tully family, and she took the initiative to persuade Randyll, which forced Olenna to reposition her relationship with the Tully family.

She found that Randyll was still hesitating, and was afraid that he would be stubborn and say that he was unwilling to surrender. Then Daenerys would have to kill him for the sake of her king's face.

So Olenna persuaded him, "Lord Tully, this defeat has nothing to do with you. Don't blame yourself too much. Do you want the Tully family to have no successor?"

Looking at Olenna in a daze, she woke up Randall, who had found himself in a dead end, with a word. Even if he didn't want to save himself and his young son, he should still consider the family.

Dickon was his carefully trained successor, and he valued him very much. Without him and Dickon, there was no telling to what extent the Tully family would decline.

As for his eldest son Sam, although he didn't know why Sam attracted Daenerys' attention, he still felt that he was not the person who could maintain the Tully family, not to mention that he had already joined the Night's Watch.

Thinking of this, he no longer hesitated and said, "The Tully family is willing to surrender!"

After Randyll finished speaking, Daenerys, Olenna and Drogon all breathed a sigh of relief.

The goal was achieved, but Daenerys did not let them go home. Instead, she waited until King's Landing was settled before letting them go back.

As for Tommen, of course he would not be let go, but would be temporarily imprisoned in the dungeon. This treatment was also within Tommen's expectations.

After getting Daenerys's permission to leave the throne room, Tommen was about to leave when Tyrion suddenly walked up to him and said, "You should go see her."

After Tommen became king, he was sidelined by his mother Cersei and became her puppet.

Of course Tyrion knew that he was resentful, but as Cersei's only son in King's Landing, Tommen had to go and see her off.

Tommen already knew that his mother Cersei drank the poisoned wine, and he wanted to go and see, but the resentment he felt towards her in his heart made him hesitate.

Hearing the advice of his uncle, who served as the Queen's Hand, Tommen nodded and left the throne room.

Olenna and Margaery were the only ones left in the throne room. Daenerys said to the audience, "Lady Olenna, I want Daario to follow your people to the Reach. Should that be okay?"

"Your Majesty, the Riverlands will obey your orders!" Olenna responded with a slight bow.

After Olenna and Margaery left, Daenerys said directly to Jorah: "Jorah, send a message to Yara and ask her to cooperate with you and Grey Worm to attack Casterly Rock. Tell Robb and Jaqko to stay put and let Jaime return from the North."

"With Highgarden's support, the Reach and Oldtown should be safe. Daario, you will follow the people Olenna sends to Highgarden and stay in the Reach."

Casterly Rock is the only one of the Seven Kingdoms that has not been breached. Now is the time to take it down in one fell swoop.

"Your Majesty, I request an attack on Casterly Rock!"

Daenerys was about to end the meeting when Oberyn suddenly stepped forward and challenged her to a fight.

After hearing what Oberyn said, Daenerys immediately guessed why he asked for battle - to avenge his sister Elia.

Daenerys glanced at Tyrion in the audience intentionally or unintentionally, and found that he lowered his eyes and had no intention of objecting, so she agreed to Oberyn's request.

The meeting ended and everyone dispersed. Jorah walked towards Daenerys but did not leave immediately.

Looking at Jorah in confusion, Daenerys didn't know why he wanted to see her.

The others saw that Jorah seemed to be discussing something with Daenerys in private, so they left the throne room quickly without stopping.

After everyone left, Qiao La knelt on one knee, bowed his head and said: "Your Majesty, I beg for your forgiveness!"

Daenerys was stunned for a moment, then became serious, looking at Jorah and waiting for him to continue.

"I... I once betrayed you and served as a spy for Varys, reporting your news in the Dothraki."

"It was you who told Varys that I was pregnant, which almost made me drink the poisoned wine?" Daenerys asked with a gloomy face.

"Yes...it's me." Jorah didn't dare to look up to meet Daenerys' gaze and continued to answer.

"What else did you report to him? Tell me everything." Daenerys clenched her fists.

"And news of your marriage to Drogo and your brother Viserys," Jorah continued.

Looking at Jorah who still had his head down, Daenerys questioned, "And you haven't told me about hatching dragons and going to Qarth!"
