"Alpha, Jesse is here to see you." my Beta, Lucas, mindlinked me. I groaned and gave him the go-ahead to let her in. Jesse is my childhood friend. She has been with me ever since my parents died. The sound of heels clinking against the marble tiles in my home office drew my attention. My wolf, Zeus, has been bothering me all day asking for a run. I've been refusing him. Which is why I've been grumpy and decided to work from my house instead of the pack house.

I just nodded and continued with my work. She then brought out the subject that got me upset. My mate. I've been searching for her for a long time and decided to give up. My search was fruitless." so Xander, you do know you don't have much time left right?" she questioned. I just sighed remembering that I will soon be clocking 30 yrs this month. And without my mate, I will go rogue. So, instead of going rogue, I decided to kill myself a day before then. The only option was for me to choose a chosen mate for myself which I refused. I only want my fated mate; if not her, then I prefer being mateless. She said I could choose her, but I knew she was only looking out for me. I know she was also waiting for her mate.
"yes I know, Jesse," I replied boredly. She is the only one who can stand me and also talk to me without being killed. Well except for my beta. "any news about the Prophecy and LIBER LEGENDI DE LICANTROPIS? "she asked curiously. I've been searching for the ancient book of Legend of the Lycans. I'm a true descendant of the lycans. It is a book passed down from generations. It contained the Prophecy which the moon goddess said she would reborn into this world through somebody. I just nodded no. "OK get up. I heard there is this old library in town. There is a possibility that they might have it." she finished. "no. I'm not interested." I replied.
Well, she later succeeded in bringing me out of my office as we headed to town. I decided to drive in my Mercedes G-wagon. We arrived at the library in no time. It looked homey from the outside and, I guess, the same from the inside. Just when I was about to step out of the car, I perceived a sweet scent. Vanilla and strawberries. My wolf started jumping up and down restlessly. I was getting annoyed. "What is it, Zeus?" I questioned him. "I don't know, bro, but I'm just feeling restless. I think we need to head in to know what the matter is." he suggested. "isn't that what I was about to do?" I questioned angrily. He only grumbled and muttered whatever.
Just when we opened the doors, I was met with the most delicious scent I've ever perceived. Immediately I made eye contact with a beautiful lady at the reception." Mate! Mate! Mate!" Zeus screamed in my head. I was dumbfounded. I never thought I had one. I thought she was dead. But damn did she look like an angel. Long and wavy chestnut hair. Her eye color is now my favorite, forest green. She's just out of the world with her small nose and full and kissable lips. Full breasts and a curvy waist. I could spend all my life just showing her how beautiful she is. I immediately fell in love with her.
I started perceiving a nice scent from her. She was aroused and turned on by our appearance. My wolf was pleased. But before I could smirk or say anything else, I started feeling my hard on coming up. I immediately excused myself and walked out of the library. I knew if I should turn back I would have taken her right there and then.
I went into the car and waited for Jesse to finish up. About 20 minutes later, she walked out. "what is it, Zeus?" she questioned. Seeing as my eye color has changed from its normal sky blue to yellow, showing the presence of my wolf. "Mate! In there." was all he said before giving me back control. Without any words being exchanged, I drove us back to the pack house.
I busied myself with pack affairs and papers that needed signing immediately after we got back. I wanted to stop myself from thinking about her. I needed to take things slow. Like really slow as she's a human. She has no idea about our kind. But damn, my mate is hot. Zeus also felt proud of our mate. I kept on working till late. When I was about to head home, Zeus persuaded me to go for a run. So we went.
We were about to reach the border when I perceived a familiar scent. "Mate!!" Zeus screamed. We started approaching her. She looked to be crying. Well someone just dug themselves an early grave. She doesn't even care about her surroundings. Just when I was about to reach out to her, I accidentally stepped on a dry branch which made an annoying noise. This seemed to catch my little mate's attention.
She quickly turned but could not see anything. I decided to make myself known. Immediately, her eyesight came in contact with me, and she first froze. After regaining herself she screamed and looked like she was about to pass out. I carefully made my way to her. She just kept muttering, "Oh lord! Oh, lord! This is it. I'm finally dead. Oh, lord! But I don't want to die. I need to fall in love, get married, and bear children. not to forget... Oh yes, grandkids." I chuckled.
She's really cute. I went beside her and laid down with my head down. Anyone who saw me now would be surprised a ruthless and scary alpha like myself kneeling for a meek and young female. A human, for that matter, but who cares? What won't I do for this beautiful mate of mine, I thought while staring at her.
