Chapter 5 - Chapter 5~Cole

(Myra's POV)

There goes my good morning. I woke with bags under my eyes and a very severe headache. Consequences of not going to bed early. I got off the bed and padded straight to the bathroom to freshen up. I quickly got ready and decided to hang out with Cassy since today was a Sunday. We don't usually open the library on such days.

I wore my yellow flowered summer dress that reached below my knees. I then went downstairs to meet with an empty room. I checked the driveway and saw my dad's car missing. Oh, well, there goes my sweet morning. I quickly rushed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the most favorite bitches of my life. Yay!! (note my sarcasm).

I prepared toast and scrambled eggs. I had mine then rushed to my room. I don't want them souring my mood and making me grouchy all day. I needed to ask Cassy to assist me in finding out the truth about what they were hiding and also the legend and secrets behind the old book.

I was scrolling through my Instagram feeds to while away time when Cassy called. "hey bitch, down for some fun?" she asked me enthusiastically. Immediately my mood changed. Believe me, I love Cassy a lot. Like a whole lot, but when she's this enthusiastic about something then you should be scared. She's very fun to be with. for fun, I reckon." uhhhh, Cassy. I hope it is not any of your crazy ideas you call fun." I asked her skeptically. "ohh, pls. We're just going into town to shop and also drink a little." she fired back. "I don't think I can. And you can't make me." I told her smugly.

Well, guess what, guys? She made me, no forced, and blackmailed me into coming with her to a newly opened bar. Like who goes to the bar in the morning. She went to grab us some drink while I was about to head out to get some fresh air when I bumped into a wall. A very solid wall at that. Hold on a sec, there wasn't any wall here when we came in. I slowly looked up to be met with a tall guy.

Hot will be an understatement to introduce him. He was gorgeous. Brown eyes ,pointed nose but a little crocked. And full lips are good for kissing. But the strange thing was I did not feel anything. Had it been before, I would have gone gaga over his cuteness. The only thing I found myself thinking was he was cute, no doubt, but he wasn't as cute as the guy I met at the library.

I looked at our position and saw he was holding onto me as I was about to fall. I quickly stepped back and started apologizing. "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't see you there," I told him. He just chuckled and muttered something under his breath along the lines cute.. Or something.

"Ohh, it's nothing, princess. It was also my fault. The name's Bradford. Cole Bradford." he said in a deep voice. Oh, so it's an introduction. Okay, I get it. "Jones. Myra Jones." I said meekly." I will-"Before he could continue further, a very flustered-looking Cassy came in." ohh hi. I'm her friend. I'm Cassandra. Formally called Cassandra, by the way. "she flatly told him.

I couldn't hold my laughter anymore and burst out laughing. She was someone who always said I should stop fawning over handsome guys and come to reality whenever I was reading my romance novels. They both stared at me like I'd grown two heads. I immediately sobered up "Sorry, I just remembered something funny." I stupidly told them. "okay..." he replied, suspiciously.

"Okay. I've got to head in. See you around." he told us and entered. I dragged her out of the bar. "All right, let's head back home." I told her. "no, it's just early afternoon. We just got here a while back." she stubbornly replied. I sighed and thought of an idea. "why don't we go over to the cinema across the street? A new movie, The RETRIBUTION was just released. What do you say." I suggested happily.

"she looked to be thinking about when she suddenly glared at me." what about the drinks?" she asked quizzically." we can come back later in the evening, "I proudly told her. She later agreed and we left for the theatre.

The movie lasted for about 2 hours. It was really interesting. I then decided, why don't we just head to the bar? That way I can tell her about the book. Besides, there is still time before nightfall. He headed into the bar and sat at a booth in the far corner of the bar.

Our drinks were brought, and we started chit-chatting here and there. I then decided to tell her. "uhhmm, Cassy, there's this ancient-looking book I saw the other day at the library." I told her." OK, what was it about? She asked curiously. "I also don't know. That is why I'm telling you so we can figure it out together. Oh, and the other day, I overheard Jenna and Luke speaking in a hushed tone like they don't want to be heard."

"hold a minute, who the hell is Luke," she whispered. "OK, don't freak out, but he's the guy my dad and his bitch of a wife are forcing me to marry," I told her quietly. "Oh dear. I hope you are okay." she asked, concerned. "ohh, it's okay. I'm not going to get married to someone that bitch wants me to" I told her confidently. She changed the subject and started blabbering about the guy we met when we came to the bar this morning.

At the time we headed home, it was already late. I just retired to my room since I was not hungry. I already had dinner with Cassy before getting home. I retired to bed too tired to glance through the book. We had plans to find out what Jenna and her cousin were talking about, as well as the secrets surrounding the book.
