As Obito was working on his test, he heard the conversation between Shisui and Mokuzuki and looked up, startled.
He recognized Shisui.
The Uchiha clan lived together in their designated district in Konoha, so members of the same generation usually knew a bit about each other. Even if they hadn't met, hearing about a prodigy like Shisui was common among the clan.
Obito wondered why Shisui was here and why he seemed so familiar with Mokuzuki.
"Could it be that Sensei Yūki is a distant relative of Shisui?" Obito speculated with a far-fetched theory.
"Sensei, I'm done!"
While Obito was lost in thought, Guy suddenly shouted triumphantly.
"So soon?" Obito was bewildered. He hadn't stopped working for long, so how had Guy finished already?
Obito glanced over and saw that Guy had only answered the first three multiple-choice questions and left the rest blank.
Obito was at a loss for words. The test only had ten questions—four multiple-choice and six written.
Although Obito didn't know many answers, he would at least fill in the blank spaces to make it look complete.
Mokuzuki walked over to check Guy's answers, finding two errors and only one correct answer for the first question.
"No problem. It's normal to struggle at first. If you already knew it all, there'd be no need for me to teach you," Mokuzuki reassured him with a smile.
"Don't let a low score get you down. Think of it this way: going from five points to twenty-five is much easier than going from eighty to one hundred."
Guy was encouraged by Mokuzuki's words. For the first time, he received praise and encouragement outside of his father's support.
"You're right, Sensei! There's a lot of room for improvement!" Guy's enthusiasm soared.
Mokuzuki's explanations were taken seriously by Guy, who struggled but made an effort to understand despite the difficulty.
Next up was Obito, who answered six questions but only got two correct.
Mokuzuki provided the same encouragement and explanation as with Guy.
Afterward, Mokuzuki handed Obito and Guy two more similar test papers.
"More to do?" Obito's attention was drawn to Shisui, who was now practicing Fire Style.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Shisui performed the hand signs rapidly, releasing a two-meter-high fireball that soared toward the river.
Obito was deeply impressed by the massive fireball. It was clear that Shisui was indeed a renowned prodigy of the clan.
As a Uchiha, Obito was familiar with the Great Fireball Jutsu himself, but his version was a mere ember compared to Shisui's impressive display.
"Could he be a prodigy like Kakashi?"
Guy, though unfamiliar with Shisui, was astonished by the sight of such a powerful technique from someone so young. It reminded him of Kakashi, whom he saw as a rival.
The ninja school followed a three-semester system: the first semester from April to July, summer break, the second from September to December, winter break, and the third semester after the new year.
Kakashi had graduated early before finishing the second semester, highlighting his exceptional talent.
To Guy, Shisui seemed like Kakashi's peer.
Shisui then began practicing the Great Dragon Fire Jutsu.
Seeing Shisui perform another fire jutsu left Guy even more amazed. He had struggled for three years with the basic Body Flicker Technique taught at school, finding it challenging to master.
Watching Shisui control a fire dragon in the sky, Obito envied him, thinking that if he could perform such a technique, Rin would surely be impressed.
"It's clear you've made significant progress in chakra transformation. The dragon's speed has improved quite a bit. You must have practiced a lot since yesterday," Mokuzuki complimented Shisui.
"It's mainly thanks to your training manual, Sensei," Shisui smiled and replied.
"Let me demonstrate it for you again," Mokuzuki said.
He moved to a spot in front of Shisui, clapped his hands together, and swiftly gathered and compressed chakra, releasing three massive fire dragons.
Obito was stunned by the sight. The difference between Shisui's fire dragons and Mokuzuki's was like comparing a snake to a mudfish, and the speed of Mokuzuki's dragons was astounding.
The three giant fire dragons soared through the sky, leaving trails of flame and forming large characters in the air.
"Stop looking and get back to your tests," Obito said, having read the characters in the sky and realizing Mokuzuki was watching him with a playful grin.
Obito was startled and quickly explained, "I was just taking a break to look at the sky."
He glanced at Guy, who had already resumed working on his test with remarkable speed.
"Have you seen enough?" Mokuzuki asked.
"Seen enough, seen enough," Obito hurriedly picked up his pen and continued working on the test.
After a while, Obito couldn't help but ask, "Sensei Yūki, what's your relationship with Shisui?"
"Just a teacher and student relationship. What else could it be?" Mokuzuki replied, glancing at Guy's test paper.
"Hehe, I thought it seemed like a teacher-student relationship," Obito decided not to mention his initial wild guess.
"Sensei, if I pass the test, can you teach me that technique you used just now?" Obito asked, imagining himself showing off the new jutsu to Rin.
"Of course," Mokuzuki nodded.
"Really?" Obito's face lit up with joy.
"Really."
Guy, watching the exchange, asked eagerly, "Sensei, what taijutsu techniques do you know?"
Though Guy admired Mokuzuki's Great Dragon Fire Jutsu, his main interest was in taijutsu.
Mokuzuki didn't answer immediately. Instead, he walked to a large tree, focused chakra on his feet, tensed his muscles, and executed a high-speed whirlwind kick.
The tree fell instantly with a crash, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Do you like this taijutsu?" Mokuzuki asked with a smile, dusting off his feet.
