"Who would have thought? I graduated as a teacher but never became one... Instead, I crossed into another world and still ended up as a teacher," Li Muyue mentally sighed after sorting through his memories.
It seemed like fate had a twisted sense of humor when it came to his career as a teacher.
In high school, he was one of the better students in the arts class, so his classmates often came to him for help. They even started calling him "Teacher Yue." Later, when applying for universities, he ended up at a teacher training college due to his family's suggestions. He once again earned the nickname "Teacher Yue" when he tutored his roommates.
Ironically, after graduation, he rebelled against everyone's expectations and passed the civil service exam, avoiding the teaching profession altogether.
But fate had other plans. On his very first day at work, as he walked into his new office, a split second later, he found himself in a completely different world. He had transmigrated and became a teacher in a ninja school.
In this new world, his name was still Muyue, but now it was Yusheng Muyue. Same first name, different surname.
"Great. This is not a safe world," Muyue groaned internally. "Too many psychopaths, fanatics, and dangerous maniacs, not to mention they're ridiculously powerful."
Looking around his office, it didn't seem too different from the one in his previous life, except for the sharp kunai casually placed on his desk. That was a harsh reminder that this was no longer the peaceful country he once knew.
To make matters worse, not only was he a teacher, but he was also a covert operative from the mysterious Root organization!
His original body was an orphan raised by the Root, and his role at the ninja academy was merely a cover. He was assigned by Danzo to observe and report any signs of genius among the students.
"Serving under the 'Shadow Hokage'... not exactly the safest place to be."
As Muyue pondered how to survive in this dangerous new world, a mechanical, emotionless voice suddenly echoed in his mind. At the same time, a translucent blue screen appeared before him.
[Teacher System Activated. Congratulations, you are now an official teacher!]
[Teach your students well to earn rewards. The better the students, the higher the rewards!]
[You can take on gifted students as apprentices and personally guide them. As their strength grows, you will receive greater rewards.]
[Note: Both parties must agree for an apprenticeship to take place. You cannot force a student to become your disciple.]
After studying the blue screen for a moment, Muyue saw there were two options: "Personal Info" and "Teacher-Student." He opened his personal info first.
Name: Yusheng Muyue
Age: 18
Chakra: 4300
Skills: Transformation Technique, Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu, Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu, Body Flicker Technique, Konoha-style Taijutsu
Evaluation: A skilled chunin. On the battlefield, more useful than a regular grunt but still expendable.
Muyue cringed at the harsh evaluation but quickly closed the screen and opened the Teacher-Student panel. Unfortunately, since he had no apprentices yet, it was completely empty.
Suddenly, the sound of the school bell jolted him out of his thoughts. Muyue realized he had a class to teach and gathered his things to head towards the classroom.
Despite being a new teacher, there weren't many teachers in the ninja academy, so he was already assigned as a homeroom teacher for the new students.
Looking over the class roster, Muyue recognized several familiar names.
Anko Mitarashi, Kotetsu Hagane, Izumo Kamizuki... and when he spotted the name of Shisui Uchiha, his eyes lit up. This was no ordinary genius.
Since the system rewarded him based on the students' progress, the more talented the student, the better.
Muyue composed himself before stepping into the classroom, adopting a warm, sunny smile.
The ninja academy's classroom was designed in a unique way, with each row of seats slightly higher than the one before, making it easier for the students in the back to see the front.
The moment he walked in, the previously noisy classroom fell into an immediate hush. After all, the students were only five or six years old. For many, this was their first time in school, and they were naturally curious and respectful of their ninja teacher.
Of course, there were always exceptions. A purple-haired girl sitting in the front row immediately piped up, "Wow, big brother! You look so handsome! Are you our teacher?"
Muyue smiled and nodded. "That's right. And you, my pretty little student, can call me your homeroom teacher from now on."
The girl giggled, clearly delighted by the compliment. Seeing the playful exchange, the other students relaxed a bit. Some of them had heard stories from their older siblings about how strict and scary teachers could be.
Muyue walked to the front and quickly wrote his full name on the chalkboard. Turning to face the class, he introduced himself.
"My name is Yusheng Muyue, and starting today, I'll be your teacher. I look forward to working with all of you."
"Awesome! My name's Anko Mitarashi!" the purple-haired girl responded enthusiastically.
With Anko taking the lead, the other students began introducing themselves one by one. Even Shisui Uchiha responded.
Muyue quietly observed the system, hoping this interaction might let him take Shisui as a disciple. But it seemed like that wasn't enough to trigger the system's recognition.
Suppressing his disappointment, Muyue smiled and gestured for the students to quiet down after their introductions.
"Before we start the lesson, I have a question for all of you. Do you know how the village of Konoha came to be?"
The classroom fell silent once again as the children exchanged puzzled looks.
Shisui, having been taught some of this history by his clan, knew the answer but remained quiet, not wanting to draw attention.
"People built it, right?" Anko offered.
Muyue chuckled. "You're not wrong. But do you know who built it and why Konoha was established in the first place?"
He could see the curiosity in their eyes as he continued, "Before the era of the ninja villages, there was constant war. Even children your age had to take up weapons and fight. Brutal battles could break out at any moment."
As he spoke of the harsh realities of the Warring States Period, his voice took on a somber tone, casting a heavy atmosphere over the classroom.
"But then, two clans stood up against the endless conflict. One was the Senju clan, and the other was the Uchiha clan."
At the mention of the Senju, the students perked up. "I know! The First Hokage, Lord Hashirama, was a Senju!" one of them exclaimed.
Shisui, sitting quietly, felt a pang of disappointment. No one seemed to care about the Uchiha, despite them also being founders of the village.
"That's right. Together, these two powerful clans created Konoha, uniting other clans under their banner and putting an end to the wars of the past," Muyue continued, his voice growing more passionate.
"Where the leaves of Konoha dance, the fire burns brightly. That fire will continue to illuminate the village, nurturing new leaves that will grow strong."
He paused, his expression becoming serious. "It was through the sacrifices of our predecessors that we have this peaceful world today. Their spirit of selflessness is what we call the 'Will of Fire.'"
The students were now fully engaged, their imaginations running wild with images of their ancestors fighting to secure a future for them.
Shisui, too, seemed captivated. Maybe this new teacher wasn't as ordinary as he thought.
Muyue smiled inwardly. Perhaps Shisui would soon recognize him as a worthy mentor.
