As ordered by his father , Ivon decided to take care of the village childrens, then his father leaded him towards the secret passage . He went toward backside of the house, there is a well ,which is dried up , so noone goes there . Ivon as the young master of the house knows almost most of the corner of the house but he never went towards this well as it was dried up. Then he saw his father pressing on a brick of the wall of well and a door opens on the wall behind the well .
Seeing this Ivon and all children were shocked, then all of them went towards the door , they saw that a passage lies behind the door.
Then Ivon's father , Thomas placed a firm hand on his son's shoulder, squeezing it gently ." You have grown into a brave young man", he said, his voice steady but his eyes hiding a flicker of sorrow. " This passage has been a secret for generations meant only for times of true danger . Use it wisely."
Ivon glanced at the dark passage, the walls were carved stone , untouched and the air smelled faintly of earth and moss . He turned back to his father, trying to appear resolute, though he could feel the weight of the children's anxious stares on his back .
"Father, I promise", Ivon said in low voice " I'll protect them and get them to safety"
Thomas's lips curved into a tight strained smile . " I know you will , my son" He glanced at the group of wide-eyed children huddled behind Ivon , some clutching each other's hands their face pale with fear while few of them with determined eyes as if no fear . He could tell that those few childrens are probably child of brave soldier, then he looked back at his son , wanting to memorize every detail of his face - the earnest eyes , stubborn set of his jaw. His heart clenched , knowing this can be the last time he'd see Ivon .
"Stay close to each other ," Thomas said ,his voice growing firmer." And remember , no matter what happens your mother and I are proud of you . Now go "
Ivon stepped forward leading the children one by one into the passage . As he turned back one last time , he saw his father standing there , back straight. "I'll be back Father , I 'll make sure of it ".
Thomas nodded , unable to speak . He watched as his son disappeared into the darkness, leading the children to safety. When the last child had entered the passage, Thomas reached out and pressed the brick again closing the door . He stood there for a long moment, staring at the well , his shoulder heavy with the weight of the decision he had made .
Then Thomas went towards his wife room to inform her , but after entering the room he saw his wife in distress , Evilia seeing his husband enter she rushed toward him . And both hugged each other , " Did he leave ?!!" She spoke through tears, voice cracking .
"Yes" said Thomas in low voice .
Hearing this tears streamed down her face with sobbing voice she whispered " Can he take care of himself !??"
" Don't worry , he is smart and now he can take care of himself " Thomas with no other choice gave Evilia assurance to stop her crying .
Both of them cried and leaned on each other to support for their sadness .
After a long time Thomas went out of his house , towards his room to rest because of these strained works and thinking about the coming disaster just as he was about to rest , he heared a knock on the door .
"Sir may I come in !!"he heared a soldier voice .
Hearing his Thomas understood that something may have happened that led a Soldier to inform me in my room .
" Come in "
The soldier entered and said "Sir it seems those beasts are near our village , within 1 hour they may arrive ".
Hearing this Thomas get up in shock and yelled "What ?!!?!!?"
"How can those beasts come so quickly!??"
Then a thought appear in Thomas mind , Garyon and Surbion Village , it's probably the work of them. Then he picked up his sword and ran towards the village boundary, there he saw many soldiers stationed .
Thomas stood at the boundary , his heart began to pound as the trees ahead began to shake . The sky had a bruised shade of grey and the air was thick with tension . He glanced at the villagers and soldiers beside him —some gripping their weapons with determination while others with fear streak in their eyes .
"Everyone stay focused !!" he yelled in loud voice cutting through the murmur of anxiety. " We can defeat those wild beasts !!!" His words were strong, but he knew the reality of the situation. They are a small force against a huge number and other village can also ambush at any time .
As the first of the wild beasts burst from the bush of the forest — a pack of Red Blood Wolves their eyes glowing like demon - Thomas felt a chill run through him . Behind the wolves , massive Black Dark Bears lumbered forward , their dark fur blending into the shadows only their crimson eyes visible , blazing with a hunger.
"Hold your ground!!" Thomas shouted but his voice barely reached the villagers. Panic spread like wildfire as the beasts charged .
The wolves leapt first, their jaws snapping and the bears followed , swiping at anything that moved . The soldier fought bravely their swords clashing against the class and fangs but the villagers untrained and unprepared were easy prey .
Scream filled the air as villagers were bitten and mauled the beasts tearing through their ranks with ruthless efficiency . Blood stained the group and the smell of it drove the beasts into an even wilder frenzy . Thomas's heart wrenched as he saw people he'd known his whole life fall under the onslaught .
