Soon, Mu Ling and Xie Bowen reached the harbor and concealed themselves along with their guards in the dark. The dark sky was a perfect cover for them to hide well. Time ticked by quickly as they waited. Soon, the groups arrived at the harbor.
Mu Ling's eyes turned cold with intense killing intent when he looked at the person in the light. This same old man was the reason behind his brother's death. The Third Elder of the Lin family was the very reason he had almost lost his life. Mu Shan was standing beside him, speaking to him.
Xie Bowen, who was near Mu Ling, shivered from the sudden drop in temperature and looked at Mu Ling. He then patted him to remind him not to get distracted. Mu Ling closed his eyes and opened them again. This time, he was much calmer, as if the previous murderous gaze had just been an illusion.
Both men noticed another group of men with large boxes arriving on a ship, and Mu Shan went to welcome them. The man at the center got down from the ship and looked around. From his attitude, he seemed to be the leader of the group.
Mu Ling alerted his guards and signaled them to proceed with their plan. Xie Bowen took half of the members in one direction and Mu Ling in another. They were sure of their plan and surrounded the groups. Just when they were about to attack, someone from the assassin organization went to their leader and whispered in his ear. The leader's expression froze, and he looked around, sensing something amiss.
He then ordered his assistant, and more members from the ship landed on the ground with guns and weapons. Mu Ling suddenly realized that the assassin group might have noticed their movements, and the mission was now going to be a little harder to complete.
When he was about to warn Xie Bowen, he felt a chill around him. He looked up to see an additional person walking from the ship, and the leader was very humble in front of him. That man looked very different from the group. At a glance, he appeared sinister and evil. His aura screamed danger.
By this time, even Xie Bowen had noticed him and quickly came to Mu Ling's side. As they discussed their new plan, the scene before them shocked them. The man who had come beside the leader snapped his fingers, and hundreds of black wisps suddenly formed and moved toward them. Before Mu Ling and Xie Bowen could recover from their daze, they were surrounded by those wisps, and the temperature around them instantly turned cold, like rolling on ice.
The wisps that surrounded them began making noises, and cries of pain echoed from them. All the guards, except Mu Ling and Xie Bowen, covered their ears and fell to the ground one by one. Their ears were bleeding, and they screamed in pain.
Mu Ling noticed his talismans turning black and was stunned. He needed to do something to escape unharmed with his guards. He also noticed that the wisps did not come near him, as though they feared him. He decided to make a move on the man to buy time for his people to escape.
But before that, Xie Bowen, who was near him, quickly took out his phone and called Fu Rong. As soon as the call connected, he nervously shouted, "Little sister, save us! We are in danger! Help us!"
On the other side, Fu Rong, who was walking down the street, answered the call from Xie Bowen and frowned. She could hear the fear in his voice. She knew Xie Bowen had ample manpower, judging by how he had arranged guards for his aunt. So, he wouldn't call her for help unless... She quickly realized the danger. She bit her thumb, made a few signs with blood, formed an array, stepped into it, and vanished.
The array she made was a teleportation array, and she was instantly transported to the harbor. She looked around, saw the scene before her, and understood why Xie Bowen had called her. Hundreds of black wisps, filled with cries of resentment, surrounded a group of men who were screaming due to hallucinations of fear and pain. They were bleeding. Among them, Xie Bowen and Mu Ling were helping the others hide from the gunshots.
She looked at another group of people and was surprised. The old man and young man, along with their guards, stood to the side in fear; they probably hadn't expected the dark wisps. Near them, there was another group of men with guns and weapons protecting a man who appeared to be the leader and a man dressed in black.
Fu Rong raised her eyebrows, clearly surprised. Ah... Do they have a devilry cultivator among them? And his cultivation level is high, judging by how he brought out hundreds of ghost wisps. As she was about to step forward, she saw a figure swiftly dashing toward the man in black. Interesting.
Mu Ling had noticed that the man in black was the reason for the wisps. Since the wisps feared him, he thought he could probably take the man by surprise and buy some time for his guards to escape. With this in mind, he alerted Xie Bowen and, without further discussion, dashed toward the group.
"This man is a fool. He must have realized the wisps fear him, yet instead of escaping, he's rushing toward his death," Fu Rong muttered as she saw the devilry cultivator salivating at the sight of Mu Ling. She understood that Mu Ling would now be targeted for his yang energy.
She then drew a set of symbols in the air and threw them at Mu Ling. They formed an invisible protective barrier around him, locking him in place. As Mu Ling grew frustrated by his sudden constraint and Xie Bowen's heart pounded from the sudden turn of events, a figure slowly walked to the front.
When the figure in red walked wantonly, she appeared like the queen of demons, her dress fluttering in the breeze. All the black wisps burned with fire as she passed through them. She looked like a fierce goddess who had come down to burn evil and deliver justice to the people. To Xie Bowen, she looked like a lifesaver. He cried out when he saw her.
Fu Rong, walking toward the devilry cultivator, who was now quivering in fear, smiled at him, sending shivers down his spine. He realized her cultivation level must be much higher than his, as she could burn those wisps with her mere presence. He turned to run but was blocked by an invisible wall. Feeling cornered, he raised his hands and sent a red fire toward Fu Rong.
The fire did no harm to Fu Rong. Instead, it wrapped around her as if caressing her. She smirked. "What? Do you think your earth's fire can burn me? Tsk, tsk... You underestimate me far too much." With that, she raised her hand, sending the wisps toward the men with weapons, and snapped her fingers, releasing blue fire that burned the devilry cultivator.
