Bloom's dormitory is the dormitory of Stella and three new students, plus one transfer student.
"Medical student, Sheesh! You do not belong here; you are way too young to be enrolled."
This is Stella, taunting. She has a haughty princess of Solaria who blinds a human, Kimberly so that she is unable to go to prom but her previous crush, Robby the changeling nurses her vision back to normal, upsetting her. As Solaria is the last absolute monarchy of all Winx Realms, King Radius and Queen Luna were obsessed with power, Stella learns to act strong and never show any weakness. She unintentionally blinded her childhood friend, Rikkia, and her parents told everyone that it was done on purpose, which gaslit her emotionally. While her parents and the governesses tutored her and tested her so that her Magic Winx has shown prematurely, they initially use her positive emotions but change to negative ones when Stella's magic is not strong enough. Once her Winx started to form at her puberty, the kingdom held a coming-of-age gala. After that, she pushed herself so much to not to disappoint her parents as they did not pay attention to her to focus on their regal duties. At a young age, she had learnt what it means to be a fairy queen; potionology, magiphilosophy, ettiquete, magic linguistics, invocation(magic via charms), convergence, magiphysics, history of magic, magical law, charms, orbing, divination and cosmomagic. Looks do matter in Solaria, thus Stella has a passion for fashion. As she has to wear formal outfits all her life, Alfea is where she can wear without planning, and studied a degree in fashion design and merchandising. She excelled in every magically related subject and also, fashion. Due to her sheltered childhood, Stella has organized fashion shows at her freshie year to make up for her lost time. On the second semester, her anxiety was at a maximum level when she makes a shade of pink for her final project for a chemistry general elective course, thus she accidentally damages the chemistry lab and was held back for a semester, causes her parents to fight over sending Stella to Alfea University, leading to their separation as divorce is frowned upon in fairy culture, and Luna is demoted to 2nd rank royal consort. Her dad puts so much pressure on her that even a slightest mistake can throw her overboard. To control her powers, she bought a long magical wand that serves as a limiter. Before she went to Alfea, she played drums in the Solarian Philharmonic Orchestra which gave her a brief escape from her palace lifestyle. She was dragged by the pounding so much due to her suppressed anger, that she goes off-sync. Her bandmates are so scarred and embarrassed by her loud drumming and one of them stopped her.
"I am fine, thank you."
"You do not look fine, you have to tell us."
Stella stood up and quit the orchestra cold turkey. When she arrived home, her father gleamed at her.
"How was the orchestra?"
"I quit, father."
"Good cause you will focus of your princess training to Solarian University..."
"I have an offer letter from Alfea University, I am going there."
"Nonsense, who told you to go there, you have duties in Solaria."
"After college, I will arrange a suitor to be the king of Solaria."
Stella, fed up by his speech, pack her bags hastily and leave her room and the palace.
She does not have other outlets to release her feelings, so she visited a psychologist the first time after her chaos in the chemistry laboratory. She has her own big room, and she is so afraid that her father will take her room away if she does not perform well. "You had a whole room for yourself. I had a roommate." Bloom admired.
"Oh yeah, it will be taken away from me soon by my father." Stella was worried that her father still would not approve of going to Alfea University.
Solaria is an absolute fairy monarchial patriarchal kingdom, where the rights are extremely limited. Her father has so many wives as polygamy is legal in Solaria but a woman having so many husbands is illegal. Women in Solaria have lesser rights than men generally, even they are subjected to a perplexing dress code and abortion ban. Solaria is a very backward society in terms of scientific achievements and human rights compare to the rest of the abnormal world and the real world due to dependency on magic. But they are known for their boy bands and girl groups and have advanced musical technology being the pop hits and the no dancing gender segregated raves.
Transportation services are old fashioned trains and man-powered gondolas with modern gasoline jet planes, while nobles have personal transport like taxis and ride hailing. Booking tickets for travelling require groups of same gender and class. Businesses and services are only catered one gender and one class and must adhere to traditional roles. In buildings, men enter and exit the building in one entrance while women enter and exit the other entrance, there are laws on unmarried men and women on not living with each other. Once the fairies are married, they must remove windows in their houses. The culture of Solaria does not accept LGBTQ+ society and female rape victims and rapists suffered harsher punishments. Arranged marriages and courtships (males pick females and those chosen and not chosen to have no say on their final decision) are the only appropriate ways of dating. In performing arts, fairy actors and actresses must play the roles of the same gender, dances are restricted to solely for men and women, circus acts are only performed by men. Women are limited to playing bowed string instruments and key instruments while men played the wind orchestra. Lutes, lyres, ducliemers, ethnic percussion and zithers are banned as they evoke passion. Sports are only played by males to impress females for a chance of picking a bride.
Education in Solaria focuses on mainly magical training and Solarian propaganda. Further education in Solaria is determined by gender and class. Male fairy nobles lean into academics and military, especially combat, while female fairy nobles study charms, enchantment and non-combat magic and etiquette resembling the syllabus of the finishing school. Male fairy commoners dived into vocational education(agriculture and technical) defensive and evasion combat, while female fairy commoners are restricted to learning cooking, hospitality, beautification and fashion design.
Solarian military is all male and the weapons they use are the wandberds and unicorn carriages. Solaria only accepts any transactions with physical cash as the only currency is Magick. Solarians can have servants of same gender depending on their income and all of them are non fairy humans. Solaria endures long winters and short summers. On the day of seven suns, the king steps down and allows his son, favorably the eldest to reign, but if there are no sons, they will find a male suitor to marry their eldest daughter the day before the day of seven suns and reign for this date, which their cosmoners calculated the accurate date of the seven suns.
Weapons, drugs and firearms possession are banned and anyone caught will be straightforwardly executed. Clothing of Solaria is modest compared to Stella's revealing fashion. Female fairies do not wear underwear while are covered with long layers of dresses and skirts. Homeschooling is permitted in Solaria, and some fairy mothers teach their kids at home. Marriages are transactional, where families of fairy couples gave dowries and bride prices to each other. Dowries are served as confiscation of property of bride's family to the groom's family to signify transfer of bride and their inheritance to the groom, while bride price is the groom's family pays the Magicks to the bride's family in exchange for the bride. Blood transfusions are not allowed to keep the purity of Solaria. All female fairies stayed home except for special occasions or chaperoned by a male fairy, which Solaria has so many occasions. Honor killings are legal in Solaria and dowry deaths are common and are cleaned up by all male teams. Suicide is illegal and anyone convicted are sent to prison. Mental health is stigmatized in Solaria and those mentally ill are lobotomized and/or sent to asylums.
