Chapter 3 - Alfea Realm

The Alfea Realm is a realm where magic and science fuse together to advance the civilization. There are many schools thanks to the intellectual multiracial population. Its home university is the only research university in the realm, although there are other colleges and universities. The cities of Alfea have enhanced technology and diversity friendly. There are no personal vehicles as there are no roads, due to the extensive public transport. There are only apartments as residential areas. Alfea is known as the Singapore of the Winx Realms because of the rapid urbanization and environmentalism. There are rail lines to the other Winx Realms from Alfea. By the way, Alfea has so many metro lines and high-speed rails which is run by Alfea railways. They can import technologies from Earth via portal transport and also create their own technologies. Alfea previously was a colony of Solaria, where during these times, exhausted Alfea's economy and forced the citizens to pay high taxes. Life here revolves only on magic but no science. Witch hunts in Alfea are on the peak and they executed anyone who is a witch. Solaria have planned to colonize all winx realms and called the unified realms as, "Magix". Eventually, an assassination on the region king of Alfea finally drove the fairies back to Solaria, and rebel forces finally gaining the respect of Alfea. Alfea then undergo demagicalization where magic is used sparingly via a change of policies. Alfea is a balance of technology and nature, with natural reserves and technotourist attractions. Alfea has housed three magical comprehensive schools.

-Beta Academy

"Tick, tock, snap, Betas Rock, Betas Roll!" This the cheer of Beta Academy. This school is a fusion of a normal high school and a magical school. The students have normal and magical extra-curricular activities, with multiple of facilities. The primary school curriculum involves normal school subjects, but they learned Alchemy, a necessary subject that prepared them about their Winx and Magicology, studies on magic. The secondary school curriculum focuses on collegecore consist of Mother tongue, English, mathematics, metamorphosymbiosis and arithmancy and elective subjects involving real-life exam subjects, convergence, divination, magecraft, and potionology. 

-Zaltora school of Psychic Arts

This school has made the study of Psychology compulsory for those who want to graduate from this school. It is a neuro-psychic specialist school where Roshanak attended; she took an elective course on dreams. This school focuses the studies of brains and minds, and students are taught how to defend themselves mentally.

-Vocational school for Forgers

A trade school in Alfea, there is a higher chance of employability and admission to Alfea University's non-academic courses. Those primary school students are taught advanced science and humanities in a fun and easy way and their secondary school curriculum focus on trades and apprenticeship. Those students won so many academic competitions.

Changelings and magical humans are much intelligent than humans and they typically start school at the age of 5. As they manifest their Winx or Magic at the age of 10, the start of their puberty and are able perform telekinesis, telepathy, transmuting objects and fixing messes, they finished school much earlier at the average age of 15, and ready for higher education. Bloom unfortunately has to endure a 12-years school system in the United States and by the time she reached Alfea, she is 17. Orientation of 5-year-olds consists of an eight trigrams talisman ceremony, where they touch the talisman, that accurately predicts their powers. Their coming-of-age ceremony for the 10-year-olds is to demonstrate their powers in a specialized well that prevent the loss of control of powers. Therefore, in Alfea, unschooling and homeschooling are banned to safeguard the children's wellbeing.

There is another university in Alfea called Oskuria College, which offers both magical and non-magical courses in their degrees, despite Alfea undergoing demagicalization, but this college has strict rules on use of magic to protect their students' and staff's wellbeing.
