Chapter 5 - Starting Containment

I make contact with one of the Class A researchers. "What's the situation? Has SCP-146 been located?"

================

**POV - MARK BLAKE**

"SCP-146 has been located, sir. There are currently 5 PM in Greece, and the museum is closed. We are awaiting orders to begin the operation," says the researcher.

"Okay, I'm heading toward the base. We should arrive in 2 hours," I respond and end the call.

'Now I just need to wait for my transport to arrive,' I think, leaving the room and heading toward the rooftop of the building.

Upon reaching the rooftop, I received a message with the location of the transport I requested and saw that it was in the building's underground garage. I press the elevator button that descends to the garage.

Upon arriving there, I see military vehicles with the Foundation's logo. Two JLTVs and one L-ATV, with the rear door open, waiting for me. Two soldiers guard the door, both wearing military helmets and masks covering their faces. 'Interesting, it's good they wear masks, so no one discovers who they are. Maybe I should wear one too,' I think, analyzing the advantages of keeping my identity hidden at the beginning of all this.

I approach and get close to the vehicle door. "Hello, soldiers. Let's go. We need to start the containment. Is the plane ready? We have 2 hours to reach Greece," I ask, entering the vehicle.

The soldier driving the L-ATV responds, "Yes, sir. The jet is ready. We will arrive at the base in Greece in two hours, sir," he says, and we begin to move.

I see two helicopters flying overhead, providing my protection until the runway where the private jet is waiting.

Thirty minutes pass, and we arrive at the airstrip, where I see a private jet with the Foundation's logo. 'The other base appeared in New York, but it seems I won't have time to see it now. When I return from Greece, I'll head there,' I think, realizing that the other Foundation base has appeared in New York.

I head toward the jet and board it, seeing several soldiers around for my protection. The pilot starts the flight.

'The private jet is really fast. It seems everything the Foundation has is top of the line,' I think, impressed by the jet's speed.

An hour and a half pass, and we arrive at the airstrip in Athens, Greece. "A beautiful city, but now I don't have time to admire it."

I exit the plane and see a man in a white lab coat, smiling, waiting near an L-ATV. I walk up to him. "What's your name? Are you supervising the soldiers?" I ask with authority.

"I'm researcher Alex, sir. I'm in charge because we currently don't have any Class A soldiers to take command, sir," he says reverently.

"What's the situation? Has anyone come into contact with SCP-146?" I ask.

"We've set up a perimeter around the museum. There are currently 12 security guards at the museum, but we haven't entered yet to begin containment," the researcher responds.

"Okay. Is the Mobile Task Force ready?" I ask, entering the car, and the researcher follows soon after.

"Yes, sir. They are on standby. Here are the museum cameras, and here are the drone cameras flying over the museum," the researcher says, handing me a tablet with the camera footage.

'Interesting, they managed to hack the museum's security and access the cameras. The security was probably easy to hack,' I think.

"Has anyone from the local government found out?" I ask while analyzing the footage.

"No, sir. We've taken the necessary precautions not to alert the local authorities yet," the researcher says.

"Okay, we should arrive at the base soon. Let's finalize the strategies and begin the containment," I say, continuing to watch the footage.

Thirty minutes pass, and we arrive at the Foundation base. The façade looks like a residential building. We approach the building and enter the garage, where a large passage opens for the cars to pass. 'I don't know how the system managed to hide this in Greece, but I'm glad it's well hidden,' I think, intrigued.

Upon entering the Foundation, I see a garage full of vehicles, with completely white walls. After getting out of the vehicle, I'm escorted to the observation room.

Upon entering the room, I see a giant screen showing the camera footage from the tablet. The Mobile Task Force is on standby, awaiting orders. All the soldiers wear helmets to hide their faces.

I approach the screen and begin detailing the plans I'm thinking of. "We're going to start the operation. The Mobile Task Force will be divided into three squads. Each squad will enter through a different entrance to the museum. Five Class C soldiers and one Class B soldier will go with each squad and remove any distractions. If they encounter any humans, they are to use tranquilizer guns," I say, pointing out the entrances on the map.

"I want the hackers to stop traffic for at least 5 minutes, so we have time to reach the museum without anyone seeing the Foundation's vehicles entering. It doesn't matter if they see us leaving because, by that time, we will have already completed our mission," I say seriously.

"Anyone who comes into contact with SCP-146 must be brought in for analysis. If they're fine, they can return to their lives. Otherwise, they must remain at the Foundation for observation," I explain.

"I will enter through the front entrance with one of the squads. The other two will enter through the other entrances in case anyone tries to interfere with the operation," I explain, giving direct orders to each Class B soldier who will lead the squads.

"You're going in, sir? Wouldn't it be dangerous for someone of your rank?" the researcher questions.

"I want to participate in a containment mission. It will give me more experience for potential future containments," I respond.

"Where is the locker room?" I ask, wanting to change clothes.

"The locker room with regular clothes is this way, sir," a soldier responds and leads me to the locker room.

I reach the locker room and open the system store, looking for some outfit that will hide my identity well. "Why aren't there any nice clothes? Only vests, masks, helmets... Oh! The clothing part tickets are interesting. This isn't something from the Foundation, but it only costs 1 Exchange Point."

I buy 7 tickets and click on one.

[Describe how the clothes should be.]

I start to describe the clothes.

They begin to appear in front of me: a black overcoat, a turtleneck sweater, a belt, tailored trousers, leather boots, and black gloves.

I dress and look in the locker room mirror. "Interesting. It's not my usual style, but it works to ensure no one discovers my real identity, and I still look formal and elegant, even in adverse situations. Plus, it covers my entire body," I say with a smile.

"Now, lastly, the helmet." I begin describing the helmet I want.

A cyberpunk-style helmet appears in front of me. It has what looks like two horns, with the Foundation logo between them, as well as two smaller horns on each side of the head. On the front, where the face is, there's a glowing green circle, along with several green details.

'This will definitely give me an air of mystery. It's not very sophisticated, but it will do for now. I don't plan to hide my identity forever; in the future, I can create something more advanced,' I think with a smile.

I open the helmet and put it on. "Interesting," I say, hearing a deep voice come from the helmet. "Ah, interesting. The voice modulator I described worked, but the rest didn't turn out as I expected," I say, observing the inside of the helmet. It's a visor through which I can see outside normally, but anyone looking in only sees the glowing green circle.

I get ready to return to the observation room.

When I enter the room, everyone turns to look at me. 'Interesting, they know who I am, even without me saying a word,' I think with a smile.

"You're going like that, sir? Don't you need vests or weapons to defend yourself?" the researcher questions, observing my outfit without any military gear.

"I don't need weapons. My soldiers will protect me," I say. 'And my impenetrable shield as well,' I think with a smile.

"And we're not going to kill anyone in this operation. It should be easy since SCP-146 can't move freely," I say. 'At least, I hope it can't.'

'I was lucky SCP-146 appeared when the museum was already closed. If it had been an hour earlier, it would've been a terrible disaster,' I think, relieved.

"The operation begins now. I hope we succeed," I say.

Everyone begins to head out. We reach the garage, and everyone gets into the JLTV and L-ATV vehicles.

**Author's Note:**

I'm going to give a basic explanation of the soldiers that went because I think it got a little confusing.

There are 3 squads, each squad has 5 regular Class C Soldiers and 1 regular Class B Soldier.

Additionally, there are 5 Blind Class C Soldiers and 1 Blind Class B Soldier per squad.

In total, that makes: 12 people per squad.

In total, there are 36 soldiers. (I think it's a lot, but the MC is still at the beginning, and he wants to make sure he doesn't fail at containment.)
