"What time did you finish work today?" he asks, irritation still evident in his gaze.
"Close to 6 pm," I respond.
"So you headed home afterward?" he adds.
I pause, questioning his interest to know if I went home or not.
"Where else would I go?" I reply, not mentioning that I met someone after work, deeming it unnecessary.
"Is that so?" he responds, appearing unconvinced. Something feels off about him today.
"Let's focus on the matter at hand," he says, maintaining composure. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." I nod.
Suddenly, he effortlessly lifts me, placing me down gently. I flinch at the cold ground. Kneeling before me, he leans in, his intense gaze locked with mine, and I place my hands on his chest.
