"Are you serious? He took you there? Did you say he bought the property?" I express astonishment, my eyes widening as I attempt to grasp what Camille just told me. Niklaus McDonalds, notorious for treating women like shit, went out of his way to put a smile on Camille's face?
Camille nods, "Yes. While I can't confirm he bought it, he didn't disclose the acquisition details. Though, he assured me it will now be accessible to everyone. Isn't that great, Alice?" Her face radiates excitement. Since her mother's passing, genuine smiles have been rare for Camille. I guess despite their not-so-close relationship, the impact of losing her mother is still evident.
