During the evening of that day, Dean left his apartment and headed towards the house in the middle of the compound where he was staying that was well-built giving an ancient air but it looked more modernized.
Fountain Hilltown has gone back to its normal day-to-day activities with those who were injured during the battle being attended to by the town doctors. Since it has already befallen them even with the casualty it did not show in the things that were going on in the town it was like the war did not happen recently if a stranger should enter the town. Which was a shocking experience.
"Young master, welcome Sir"
When Dean got to the door to enter the house he was greeted by two guards who were at the entrance guarding the door to the house.
"Thank you".
Dean replied with courtesy.
"Things seem different from the way they are behaving to me".
Dean thought to himself he could see that the way they were greeting him and the attitude of respect they had toward him was not there before it was a new display that he had not experienced for a long time.
"This all because of the display of my awesomeness during the battle That's why they are having this way,"
Dean thought to himself, he also shared his thoughts with Zi in his sea of knowledge.
"What is there to be proud of because you are in the peak stage of the lower level of the foundation realm that why you are happy". Zi said and continued.
"I bet if you should see geniuses you will let go of your pride and work hard then be happy with this low-level praise".
Zi said with seriousness killing the mood of Dean who was enjoying himself with the way they were acting toward him.
"why are you such a spoiler, you just ruined my good mood but don't worry I will let it slide this time". Dean said and continued.
"Zi you know if it was not for something that was inside me all these years sucking my divine essence dry u would compare to one of those geniuses that you are talking about right now. Am I right"
Dean said to Dean with boldness not giving in to what Zi said keeping the feeling he was experiencing.
"If it was not some foolish mechanism that I will have to some system core with divine essence till it gets filled to a certain level before it would be able to activate I would be in a higher plane ".
"I was stuck in the qi real for more than five years just because of that"
Dean thought to himself time around not sharing his thoughts with Zi.
"I know what you are thinking but don't put the blame on me, you should put it on yourself for not having the ability to draw more world energy into your body to speed the process of my awakening".
Zi said not backing off.
"I don't know why I'm always unable to win Zi in wordplay". Dean not to himself walking to the door to the apartment. He pushed the door open entering the house.
Dean did not stand on ceremony when he entered the house he was walking left to right in the house observing everything that was inside with a bright smile on his face like someone that was going through memory lane giving him joy.
"After I leave the house to my own apart, I don't usually visit Dad, it has been years since I have been in the house. I will just enjoy myself".
"how are you enjoying yourself, unfilial child, you are feeling at home right"
A few minutes after Dean entered the house he was already sitting on a couch in the living room, lost in his memory of the experience he had in the house he heard a voice that drew him back to reality.
Directing his attention to where the voice was coming from A man was wearing a handless shirt with black trousers, he was well built, fair skin with black hair that was faded cut and very neat, walking out from the passage leading to rooms in the apartment he was releasing an air of warm with a gentle smile on his face when he was talking. He was the chief of Fountain Hilltown, radiating with the air of a leader.
"Dad". Dean stated when he heard the words of the chief with a gentle smile like he was seeing his loved one
Behind him was Alex the brother of the town chief as always he was giving a cold air giving the people the impression not to come close to him.
"Yes I am indeed enjoying Myself just going through all the pleasant memories," Dean said with great pleasure.
"Dean we need to talk so let's head inside," The chief said while leading the way toward the dining table but he walked past the table and chairs heading to the wall behind the lead chair position he placed a token on the wall which opened a part for them, leading to a secret room.
Dean looked at the room, not all surprised, he seemed to have been to the secret room before.
After they entered the room the path that was opened in the wall closed up.
The room was about 10 feet square with a center table and chair around the table not that close to the table. They all sat down with the chief taking the leadership position.
"How are you Dean, hope you did not sustain any injuries," The chief asked feeling concerned but looking at Dean he knew he was alright.
"Are you really okay, give me your hand?". Before the town chief could get over with checking up on Dean, Alex was already standing before Dean holding his hands and examining him to see if he was fine.
If other citizens of the town were there to witness witnesses happening they would be shocked to their core because someone as cold as Alex was able to show care for someone which was rare to see.
But the majority of the citizens knew that the town chief and his brother don't play when it comes to the wellbeing of the young master.
"Okay, you are alright" After a thorough scan with his spiritual essence he said feeling assured that Dean was alright.
"But I already said I have done a check on him even before he left the battlefield that day. So why are you that worried". The town chief said with a light laugh teasing Alex.
"What is all that brother can't I check my little nephew to see if he did alright or not, I know you said you have checked him before but I had to do it myself so I will get my result personally". Alex said while tapping Dean on his shoulder before they sat down.
"I can't believe that you could have someone who you care for, it is strange to see that you also have a soft side." After they sat down the town chief.
"Dean Don't mind your Dad for putting you in a tough spot, back them, he should be thankful that nothing happened to you, I would have dealt with him heavily" Alex Said filled with determination to handle the town chief if anything serious had happened to Dean. They could not help but laugh when he finished speaking
The atmosphere among them was filled with warmth and showed that they had a great bond.
"Okay Dean we just want to know if you are okay, don't stress yourself too about things and how you survive the battle is nothing important," the Chief said and continued
"Everyone has their secret so keep that to yourself and share it easily unless you know that you want to tell, are those that are willing to die for you, understand".
Dean was shocked by what he heard from the town chief he was expecting him to be asking about how he was able to fight someone as strong as Night Fury and come out unharmed. But he was telling him to protect his secret and not tell it to anyone Dean was touched by the display of kinship being played by the town Chief and Alex towards him.
"Why are you feeling all touched we all have our secrets as humans and as cultivators," Alex said
"I know all the hard training you have been going through all this while. There is no need to fear because the hard training has already started paying back for your diligence, so you have to work harder to grow further". The town chief said and continued
"The bigger the secret you have the more strength you will need to protect it, you don't have to slack off son double your effort.
"I understand," Dean said feeling touched.
"And this is the most important thing you have a system in your possession please don't tell anyone about it. If not you won't end up well, you get that.
The Town chief said with a serious expression and tone.
