Chapter 32 - Chapter Thirty-Two.

"Hudson."

"Boweski." They both gave each other a curt nod but their eyes were cold.

"Kayla, do you know him?" Wyatt asked, his gaze never leaving Andrew.

"Well, he's my…" Kayla stood up unsure of what to say or what to do. It was like the attention was on the three people standing in a triangle.

Andrew came from the left and Wyatt from the right while Kay stood in the middle.

"I'm her boyfriend." Jack and Rose gasped. Louisa winced.

"Ex-boyfriend," she chuckled nervously, correcting him weakly. Wyatt clenched his jaw. The two of them had been rivals for the longest time since they went to the same elementary and high school and they both played soccer with Andrew being the captain and he, the substitute.

People always compared them and now he was finding out that the girl he liked was his girlfriend first. Plus they also had bad blood with each other.

"And do you know him, Mitchie?"

"He's my…."

"She's my girlfriend."

"I'm a girl who is his friend." Kayla tried to smile but it came out as a grimace. The tension made her brain numb. This wasn't supposed to happen.

"Parker, Boweski, on the field!" The coach shouted from the field but both of them didn't budge.

"If I call both of you again, you get a fucking yellow card! Let's go!"

"You guys should um go. Coach Shawn would be mad at you Andy and the match is about to start." Kayla told them, anxiously using her nails to pinch her palm.

Only then did the boys move. "I'll win the match for you, Mitchie," Andrew promised like he always did before every match when they still dated winking at her.

Wyatt's nostrils flared seeing Kayla's eyes soften. What he was about to do was risky and uncultured but he didn't care. He wouldn't let Andrew take something else that mattered to him. Never again. So he walked up to Kayla and kissed her forehead.

"Wish me good luck, Kayla." Kayla melted into goo. Louisa, Jack, and Rose couldn't hold back their grins and Jack almost screamed if not because Rosa, covering his mouth.

"Goo… good luck." Wyatt flashed her his signature smile and nudged his forehead into hers, lightly.

As both boys walked to the field with furious eyes, Andrew moved closer and threatened Wyatt, "Touch her again Hudson and you'll fucking regret it."

"Fuck you, Boweski and I'll touch her because you are a fucking pussy so bring it on!" Wyatt said provocatively making Boweski spit on the field, glaring at Wyatt. A silent warning.

"What the fuck man, what's going on?" Adrien lightly pushed Wyatt.

"Nothing. Let's destroy those motherfuckers!" Wyatt exclaimed and the team cheered. "Yeah!"

"So you're saying, you dated Andrew and now you've got a thing going on with Wyatt?" Jack's jaw was on the floor.

"Girl, how the fuck did you hook up with them? What's your secret?"

"I don't have a secret," she scowled. "And this is bad. Real bad!" Kayla let out a small cry.

"We can always leave if you want, Kay. We don't have to be here. You know what Andrew's temper is like." Louisa sighed feeling a headache coming on. Unlike Wyatt, Andrew was very hot-headed.

"And Miss out on all the drama? No can do, bitch! You do realize that Kayla being here is just another added factor as to why those two boys might fight, Louisa." Jack informed her.

"What?"

"Both of them were best friends but something happened and they became enemies. There's no match they play that doesn't end with something happening." Jack shuddered.

"What happened between them? Andy never mentioned Wyatt to me when we were dating." She didn't like this one bit. The way both of them were playing was rough and too violent for her liking. If they kept this up, they would both leave the field. Even the crowd watched with anxiety.

"Who knows? You know men never think with their heads but the one down there." Rosa smirked but Kay's stomach didn't stop churning. Her left eye twitched.

"Wait you are a student of Sylvester and you were dating a rival school, so where did you sit during the games? Here," Jack pointed at their side of the stands, "or there." he pointed to the Tigers stand.

"She sat on her boyfriend's stand. You guys should have seen Kayla in full cheer girlfriend mode. So colorful, bright, and…" A whistle sounded in the air making them snap their attention to the field.

Andrew had shoved another player so he got a yellow card. Coach Shawn yelled, "Get your head in the game, Boweski!"

"This has got to be the best game I've attended so far." Jack laughed.

"And why is that?"

"Just watch and see, Rosa. Watch and see." Rosa eyed him and his auspicious time.

Kayla fidgeted with her phone. She didn't want to watch but she couldn't look away because both boys were playing the best anyone had ever seen them and it was insane for the entire crowd.

It boosted the morale of the teammates but Kay's brain was sparking.

"God they are putting on a show for you, Kay!"

Rosa's expression was animated. Kay didn't say anything as the nausea reached a new height in her belly.

Then, her phone screen lit up distracting from the blue, red, orange, and black colors burning her eyes.

It was a message from him, which made her heart skip a beat. Why was he texting her? Did he.… did he miss her? She shook her head. No, no. He just wanted to trouble her, but the distraction was welcomed.

[Ollie]: Hello, Hastings.

[Kaylaluv]: Re u missing me, professor?

[Ollie]: Depends on whether you dreamt of me, Hastings. Did you dream of me?

[Kaylaluv]: Y would I dream of u U re my professor isnt that inappropriate

[Ollie]: Is that why you came on my fingers, Hastings? Is that why you were soaked for me?

Her breath hitched, a harsh blush coloring her cheeks as she remembered the thing that happened between them in the lounge.

She almost dropped her phone with a yelp when Louisa looked over her shoulder and asked, "Who are you texting?"

"No one!"

"Then why do you look so flustered? Jack teased. "Are you getting with another captain?"

"Hogwash! You're talking absolute garbage, Jack!" She rolled her eyes, trying to cover her unnatural expression.

However, this little scene didn't go unnoticed by the two boys. She wasn't paying attention to them but texting someone.

The crowd roared as Wyatt and Andrew faced off in the center of the field, tension thick between them. Both captains, eyes burning with determination, locked into the game with one goal: impressing Kayla, who sat on the edge of the bleachers, biting her lip nervously.

Andrew, her ex-boyfriend, had always been fierce, his aggressive play matching the storm brewing behind his eyes. But Andrew, the guy she'd gone on a date with, was quick and sharp, playing with a calm precision that contrasted Andrew's wild energy but she noticed an edge, a brutality in the way he passed and kicked that ball.

She wasn't sure how she felt about Wyatt, but she knew he had feelings for her, and the weight of their rivalry made the game feel personal.

Kayla shifted in her seat, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her shirt. Every kick, every shove between Wyatt and Andrew, sent her pulse racing. She could feel the heat of the match, both boys giving everything they had

Wyatt with his clean, strategic passes, and Andrew charging like a bull. It wasn't just about soccer; it was about her and whatever rivalry they had.

"Gosh, this is so fucking intense! It's like watching Avenger's End Game all over again." Jack leaned forward, eyes focused on the match.

"I know right? Kayla should definitely come to every game if it increases school spirit."

"Is every game always like this?" Louisa asked quietly, biting her nails, brows furrowed.

"Between those two? Yes."

Suddenly, her phone buzzed again. A glance revealed a message from Oliver, adding to her unease. She glanced up just in time to see Andrew distracted, his gaze flickering toward her.

In that split second, Wyatt saw his chance. He darted past Andrew with a slick maneuver, shoulder-checking him hard as he went. The crowd gasped as Wyatt weaved through the defenders, his eyes never leaving the goal. He shot, the ball sailing past the goalkeeper and slamming into the net. The stadium erupted.

Andrew stood there, winded and furious, glaring at Wyatt and muttering curses. Kayla's heart thudded painfully as she realized she was at the center of something far more complicated than just a soccer match.

Wyatt was so giddy that what he did next was purely out of the adrenaline. He ran to where Kayla was, grabbed the back of her head, and kissed her on the lips.

Kayla's eyes widened and everyone gasped, holding their breaths. Andrew lost it and rushed forward, yanking Wyatt away with so much force that he stumbled backward.

"What the fuck is your problem, Boweski? She's your ex, remember?" Wyatt stepped forward, challenging him with narrowed eyes.

Andrew's caramel eyes and chocolate skin glistened with so much sweat. Kayla screamed when Andrew charged forward and punched Wyatt square in the face.

"Andy!" She jumped to her feet, covering her mouth, and so did everyone else.
