Chapter 54 - Chapter 53 - Kaizoku's Dream Possession

Kaizoku opened his eyes, carefully regaining consciousness. "Ugh... My head hurts so much..."

To his right lay Sylphy, still unconscious. Kaizoku quickly tried to wake her up.

"Hey! Sylphy, wake up!" Kaizoku shook her body.

After trying his hardest to rouse her with no success, Kaizoku finally gave up as Sylphy proved hard to wake. So he decided to survey his surroundings instead.

He realized they were both trapped inside a dark prison cell.

Moving to the iron bars, he looked left and right to see two skeleton guards watching over both sides of the cell. After observing the guards, Kaizoku walked back to where Sylphy lay.

Having lost his patience, Kaizoku slapped the sleeping Sylphy.

This method proved effective - Sylphy immediately woke up.

"Oww... That hurt!" she said, rubbing her cheek.

"You sleepyhead, we're in a prison cell, you idiot!" Kaizoku responded with an angry face.

Seeing Kaizoku act roughly for the first time, Sylphy was shocked into silence.

Kaizoku walked backwards to give her some space, searching his hostle belt for his revolver.

"They took Destion... should I try using the Call spell? That might work," Kaizoku muttered while pacing back and forth, trying to formulate an escape plan.

Continuing his thoughts aloud, Kaizoku spoke: "No harm in trying... Come to me, Destion!"

He attempted to use the Call spell, focusing his Soul Energy to summon Destion.

Several seconds passed, but nothing happened... It seemed they had stored Destion in a heavily secured location, preventing it from breaking free.

"Damn it! Destion should have returned to my hand! My expensive premium revolver!" Frustrated, Kaizoku kicked the nearby wall repeatedly.

Hearing the commotion, one of the guards struck the iron bars with his spear and spoke: "Enough! You are required to stay quiet!"

He returned to his position after warning Kaizoku.

Left with no other options, Kaizoku gave up and sat in the corner.

Seeing Kaizoku's defeated state, Sylphy tried to lift his spirits. She approached and sat beside him.

"What you did earlier was wrong, but I forgive you... Your weapon means a lot to you, doesn't it? When you're separated from it, you lose control of yourself..."

Seeing Sylphy's gentle demeanor, Kaizoku softened as well.

Sighing, he responded to Sylphy's words. "Yeah, that revolver was my dream possession because I bought it with my savings. From its initial release, I always lost to other buyers, and when I finally had the chance to buy it, I got transported to another world. I never got the opportunity to show it off to my friends."

Kaizoku felt like crying, finding himself at death's door and separated from his beloved possession.

Sylphy remembered her duty to protect the hero's wellbeing, including his mental state. To comfort Kaizoku, she embraced him warmly and tightly.

Sylphy whispered, "When we first entered this place, I almost cried too because this place is more terrifying than hell itself."

"But somehow you managed to encourage me. This time, I'm the one encouraging you, so let's find a way out of this prison."
