Manny woke up really early that Monday morning. It was quite unusual for him to wake up early, but he did, and he was not feeling too well.
He walked sluggishly to the kitchen to have breakfast and his mother noticed that something was written on his arms.
"What's on your arm? Manny. Don't tell me you let your baby brother, Otis, decorate you with this stick?" Manny's mother asked inquisitively as she inspected Manny's arms.
Manny himself had not even noticed that he had wounds on his arms. He looked at his arm when his mother pointed it to him in shock.
"Argh!" Manny screamed in terror. "What is this? No wonder I felt uncomfortable and could not sleep properly last night. I think I'm sick."
He proceeded to keep his cereal bowl on the counter and ran upstairs when his mother dragged him back.
"You will come back here this instant! You are not going anywhere. Who do you think you are?"
His aunty Rose, who was prepping him and his brother's lunchbox, walked to them to see what was in Manny's arms.
"THE BEES HAVE WARNED YOU, YOU BETTER BEHAVE," Aunty Rose read out loud.
"Did you, by any chance, make a swarm of bees annoyed? Because that would be the only questionable reason why you should have such marks on your arms?"
"N-n ooo! I didn't!" Manny lied.
"Shut up Manny, I can see your nose sticking out," his aunty attacked him.
Manny kept his mouth shut and rolled his eyes.
His mother sighed and put her fingers on her forehead, then she proceeded to rub her temples as she shook her head.
"Wasn't it the swarm of bees that chased you yesterday afternoon?"
Manny wanted to shake his head in disbelief. None of the bees stung him, so how was it possible that a bee did that to him?
"How is that even possible? So are you saying the bees did this to me? Be for real mom, there's nothing like that."
"Could it be possible?" Aunty Rose muttered with a low voice.
Manny's mother and Manny just stared at her in disbelief.
Was she up to something? Or did she know something that she did not care to share?
Aunt Rose seemed to have an idea of what had happened to Manny. She studied animal science in school, and they taught them about the animal system.
Most students in college at the time believed it was a lie but Aunty Rose had so much faith in it. She was extra careful with how she treated animals, and she knew that someday, sooner or later, Manny would be the next victim.
"Don't be surprised if you get whisked away into the world of bees," Aunty Rose joked as she shook her head.
She was clearly joking and Manny's mother laughed, but Manny didn't find it funny. He was grumpy as usual and did not want to go to school.
Manny was unhappy that he would go back to school to face the bullies he hated with all his heart.
Manny was a boy that had blonde hair that was cut into a fringe. His hair was cut low on the sides, and he had freckles on his face. His teeth were kind of bad, so he had to wear braces.
He also had blue eyes and a very pointed slim nose. He was kind of plump, had a large appetite and had a sweet tooth .
"Manny the bus is here!" His mother informed him.
The bus is here, and he had not even bathed or brushed? Good riddance!
"Mom, I want to take a shower!" Manny screamed as he ran upstairs.
"You will come down this instant!
His little brother, Otis, was already ready for school.
His mother had to go upstairs to his room to assist him to wear his uniform. Manny's room looked like a typical boys' room.
He had posters of his favorite rock stars on the wall, action figurines on his table and almost everywhere was painted and decorated with blue.
On the wall, he had a list of animals to torment, and he crossed them once his to-do-list was done.
He went downstairs with his mom after he was done and then got his lunch from Aunty Rose and went on to board the bus for school.
"Bye sweethearts!" His mother and Aunty Rose waved from the front porch.
Manny boarded the bus and sat in his favorite seat. His younger brother, Otis, sat close to him.
He kept scratching the area where the bees had left the mark.
"Those damn bees! Look what they've done, I'll show them when I'm back from school," Manny muttered under his breath.
"Can I see?" Otis asked and Manny snubbed him.
The statement Manny made echoed into the ears of most of the animal leaders that were in charge, and they shook awake from their naps.
Mrs Jane the bee had also placed a monitor on Manny. She could hear every conversation he made, and she could see every move he made too.
She tried to keep the hive in check.
The other queen bee had sent some workers and drones over to Mrs Jane's hive as she had promised and in no time, they had constructed back the parts Manny had destroyed.
The baby bees were also doing perfectly fine. The other queen had sent her second in command, and she pretended as a queen to comfort the babies.
There were no more lazy drones as Mrs Jane put some rigid workers to inspect them and punish them if they tried to slack.
But the queen's life was not getting any better. She was growing gravely ill by the day and while Mrs Jane was trying to hold the hive together. She was slowly losing it.
She was not structured for the load of work she was putting herself into. Her kids needed her, her husband needed her. She had to do something quick!
"So this little boy has not learned his lesson, I see? He has less than a week to turn a new leaf, or we will unleash the system on him.
Mrs Jane then went on to check up on the drones that were in charge of taking pollen from the hibiscus flower that had just bloomed and was planted by Manny's mother.
Perrie sent a message to Mrs Jane using the bee communication system that asked her if she was the one responsible for putting the mark on Manny.
If only Manny knew that a whole hive of bees was watching his every move and step along with other animal leaders, he would have behaved well.
"Yes, it was just a subtle warning. If he doesn't change his ways in six days, he will not be pleased with what he will go through."
Her little bee voice
was strict and angry.
Mrs Jane then shook her antennas and crossed her tiny bee's legs on her office table.
