Meeting the Father
Lott shot Morgan a slightly irritated look.
[Damn it, you laughed at me! How am I supposed to feel about that?]
Morgan noticed Lott's expression and quickly reassured him, "Don't worry. My father isn't going to eat you. There's nothing to be afraid of. I'll be by your side, so it will be fine. Besides, it's too late for him to be upset about anything."
Morgan was not only resourceful but also keenly observant. She often wondered if all the good looks of Orkney had concentrated in Lott. His appearance was likely more impressive than even Scotland's legendary figures.
[He's so handsome that even my father won't be upset. It's all going to be fine.]
"Alright, I understand," Lott said, feeling slightly more relaxed.
Morgan, ever the supportive partner, took his hand.
[Stay calm, Morgan. Lott is nervous, but we'll get through this together. There's nothing to be afraid of now.] Morgan thought, smiling reassuringly.
She found Lott's nervousness endearing and couldn't help but appreciate his company, even if he could use a bit more drive and ambition.
[You have so much potential, why not use it to make a difference?] Morgan mused.
The Arrival of King Uther
As they exited the castle, Morgan and Lott encountered a procession of knights. At the forefront were two men: Merlin, easily recognizable by his white hair, and the other man, likely King Uther, Morgan's father.
Lott assessed Uther's appearance and thought with some satisfaction.
[Uther might be handsome, but he doesn't compare to us.]
Morgan stole a glance at Lott.
[Honestly, he's quite handsome, but it's my father we're talking about.]
King Uther, surveying the scene, looked at Lott with approval. "King Lott, I'm here to entrust my daughter to you. From now on, we are family."
As he said this, he observed the couple holding hands with a teasing smile.
Both Lott and Morgan felt a flush of embarrassment at the comment.
The Wedding
With King Uther's arrival, the wedding preparations between Lott and Morgan were set in motion. The ceremony took place in Lott's castle, and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation.
In this era, weddings were simpler compared to modern standards, focusing more on the presence of nobles to witness the union rather than elaborate ceremonies. Flowers adorned the castle, and maids had cleaned every corridor and room.
Lott and Morgan appeared before the guests, Lott in a white outfit with a beautifully embellished sword at his waist, exuding an aura more impressive than even legendary figures. Morgan, beside him in a white wedding dress with delicate tassels, wore a constant, slight smile.
Their union was seen as a perfect match, garnering blessings from all present. The ceremony was smooth, filled with rituals that solidified their marriage.
During the ceremony, Lott's thoughts were occupied with a flurry of concerns and fantasies.
[I'm married to Morgan now! This is real, and I'm doing this! Why am I so fixated on the idea of having children already? What if we have all boys? And why am I so excited about her wedding dress?]
His mind raced with thoughts about the wedding night and his nervousness about how it would go. He imagined various scenarios, often distracted by his fantasies and anxieties.
Morgan, feeling a mix of nerves and determination, was also preoccupied with her thoughts.
[This is my first time too. I need to stay confident and manage things well. I can't let Lott see how anxious I am.]
She tried to stay composed despite her internal turmoil.
[Let's get through this. I need to focus on managing Orkney with Lott and supporting him.]
The Wedding Night
As the ceremony concluded, Lott and Morgan were left alone. They prepared to retire for the night, their thoughts a mix of excitement and anxiety.
"Well, let's go rest," Lott said, his voice betraying his nervousness.
Morgan, equally anxious, responded, "Yes, let's go."
They walked towards their bedroom, both feeling the weight of the moment. Despite their nerves, they were committed to making their new life together work. They embraced each other, ready to navigate their first night as a married couple.
[Finally, it's time to be together. I'm looking forward to this new chapter,] Lott thought, trying to suppress his anxious thoughts.
Morgan, hearing his last thought, was both embarrassed and determined.
[We need to make this work. We'll figure it out together.]
Their journey as a couple was just beginning, and they were ready to face it together, with all its challenges and joys.
