Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 The Plans and Reflections of Camelot (rewrite)

Morgan listened intently to Lott's thoughts and was mildly curious about his final comment. Yet, she understood the essence of his words perfectly. Lott's concern was clear—he worried that implementing these changes might be unpleasant and potentially dangerous for himself.

"Thank you for your concern," Morgan said with a reassuring tone. "But we are destined to become the Lords of Camelot. Even if these nobles have opinions, I will manage them. Your ideas are excellent, and I will ensure they are promoted."

Morgan turned her attention to her father, King Uther, and continued, "Indeed, relying solely on government incentives will not suffice. We need to establish dedicated officials to manage agriculture effectively. Additionally, we should encourage farming by offering farmers low-interest or even interest-free loans, so they have the funds needed to purchase production materials."

King Uther listened to Morgan's suggestions. While her proposals sounded reasonable, they were somewhat unconventional. This reminded him of earlier discussions with Merlin about how Morgan's influence might shape Britain's future. He wondered whether her ideas were beneficial or risky.

Uther reflected, "Morgan has never discussed such matters with me before. How did she come up with these ideas?"

He decided to support her plans as long as they were beneficial for Britain. Meanwhile, Lott was astonished by Morgan's knowledge. He thought, How did she know all this? We hadn't discussed specifics about the farmers before. Is she reading my mind? He was impressed by her capability.

"Indeed," Lott mused to himself, The ideas Morgan presents are impressive, even if they might irritate the nobles. But since we're in Orkney, Camelot's nobles can't come here!

King Uther then addressed Lott and Morgan, "If we face a conflict with King Vortigern, we will rely on King Lott and Morgan to assist us in our defence."

This request was part of Uther's plan to assess Morgan's capabilities and determine the rightful heir to Camelot's throne.

"Of course, we will fully support this," Lott replied, though surprised by Morgan's earlier insights. He added, "Even though Orkney is an independent kingdom, we are closely tied to Camelot. As my father-in-law, you are my superior, and I will support you against Vortigern."

Morgan, somewhat perplexed by the dynamics of seniority and relationships, decided to focus on the more pressing matter—defeating Vortigern. Her victory in this battle would solidify her position and address the opposition from traditional nobles.

King Uther, smiling, said, "I won't keep you further. Newlyweds should enjoy their time without interruptions."

Both Lott and Morgan felt a bit awkward at this comment. Lott, however, didn't dwell on it and instead focused on his expectations for the future.

Morgan, curious about the reference to King Arthur's production process, pondered how understanding it might help her locate her sister. She tried to suppress her irritation with Lott and follow him out, putting on a cheerful face.

As they walked, Morgan considered probing Lott's thoughts again but felt too fatigued. She could only sense his thoughts on the matter.

Once outside, Lott suggested, "The visit with your father is over. Let's head back to the bedroom!"

Morgan's eyes widened in surprise. What is he talking about? Is he asking for more? She felt overwhelmed and embarrassed by the idea.

"No, that's not necessary," Morgan replied quietly.

"Huh? Don't you need to rest? I mentioned earlier that you didn't sleep well last night. If you don't need rest, I'll attend to the castle's affairs and introduce you to the housekeeper and maids, so you can manage them properly."

Lott's curiosity was piqued by Morgan's response. Morgan blushed deeply, realizing he misunderstood her intentions.

"I still need to sleep for a while," Morgan said.

"Alright," Lott agreed, nodding understandingly. Yet, he couldn't help but ask, "By the way, did you think I meant something else by rest?"

Morgan felt an urge to strangle her husband in frustration. "I think you still have a lot of energy. You go to the castle. I'll rest alone."

She hurried to her room, leaving Lott behind. He chased after her, wrapping his arms around her.

"What are you doing?" Morgan asked, taken aback.

"Of course, I'm coaxing my wife to sleep!" Lott responded cheerfully.

Despite his good intentions, Morgan decided to rest alone, prioritizing government affairs. After ensuring Morgan was comfortable and had food prepared for when she woke up, Lott turned his attention to Orkney's administrative matters.

As he prepared to handle official duties, Lott felt his "plug-in" activating again, sensing an upgrade compared to before. He was eager to see what improvements had been made.

Lott found a quiet place and once more entered the "long river" of time, which now seemed deeper and more radiant. He wondered if this meant he could catch more powerful entities or valuable items.

Lott thought to himself, This is the Moon World. The long river should offer more than just ordinary items—perhaps it includes moon magic artefacts. Finding powerful items could greatly enhance my combat abilities.

He knew he was a good knight, but acknowledged that his physical strength was limited. His greatest abilities were his role as a father and his charming appearance.
