Sawyer followed Abigail into the house.
"Your house looks nice."
He was genuinely impressed by Ronan's taste in decorating.
"Thank you, Sawyer. But this is all thanks to my poor landlord. I felt like I won the lottery when I got this place," she said, gesturing for him to sit on the sofa before moving toward the kitchen.
"Poor landlord?" Sawyer asked, not sitting on the sofa but following her into the kitchen and standing in front of the island.
He was curious to know whom she was referring to—himself or Ronan.
"Yeah, well, my landlord is a bit unlucky. When he finishes renovating this house, his boss transfers him to another city..." Abigail replied while checking the ingredients in the fridge.
"I see," Sawyer was relieved to learn that Abigail was talking about Ronan. "So you should be thankful to his boss, right? Because of him, you get to live in this beautiful, clean house."
