After a long day of adjusting to their situation, Jongseob and Saebi decided it was time to get to know each other better, as they didn't want their mission to be a series of awkward moments . They sat on opposite beds in the small dorm room, the only source of light coming from a dim lamp by the desks.Jongseob broke the silence. "So, we're stuck as a married couple now. We might as well learn a little about each other, I guess.""Ok!" Saebi says, lifting her head up from a manual. "I'll ask first. What's your favorite weapon?"Jongseob thought for a moment. "Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd say my favorite weapon is probably a throwing knife. It's compact and easy to hide, but it can pack a powerful punch in close combat." He answers as if it's any normal question such as, 'what's your favorite color?'.He turned to her. "What about you? What's your favorite weapon?""Maybe... a grenade. It's easy, you just have to throw it and run," She grins. "I can't believe this was my first mission..." she groans.Jongseob chuckled at her choice. "Ah, the old reliable grenade. Not exactly subtle, but definitely effective." He could hear the disappointment in her voice, and he understood her frustration. "First mission jitters, huh? We all went through it." "Really?!" She asks, her eyes lighting up. "What was your first mission then, huh?"Jongseob leaned back against the headrest. "My first mission? Ahh, that would be a few years ago. I was tasked with infiltrating an underground weapons operation. It was a piece of cake," he said, a hint of arrogance in his tone. "Ah, really? Lucky you," Saebi says, glancing at Jongseob a second too long. "I wonder what our house will look like. Based off this manual, it seems like our fake family did some pretty cool stuff."Jongseob looks over at her. "Like what?""Well," Saebi starts, flipping through the pages of the manual. "We're apparently big-shot business tycoons, and we just got married a week ago. We also have a history of charity work."She smirks. "Looks like we're gonna be playing the part of a rich, do-gooder family. Sounds like a dream, huh?" "Nope," he says with a blank face. "I've never seen a mission like this- wait did you say family?!"Saebi is surprised by his reaction. "Yeah. The mission profile says we have a young daughter and son, Yoo-young and Woo-young. They're supposed to be five years old," she answers, reading the manual. She looks up at him, expecting a reaction. Instead, Jongseob's face is still blank. "You... don't like kids, do you?" she asks cautiously."Those despicable little gremlins..." he says, rolling his eyes. "They're like cute little menaces, who would like them, and why do they cry so much?" "What?" She exclaims. "How could you not love kids, they're so precious and adorable.." she continues the list of everything. "And- hey, are you listening?" "Huh.." Jeongsob says, looking up from the ceiling. "Oh ya, totally, the best. I love- what're you talking about, dogs?"Saebi rolls her eyes, not believing his act of feigned interest. "Nope," she says, shaking her head. "Kids; you know, the tiny humans that can scream at a pitch that could deafen a dolphin? Those things."She huffs playfully, pretending to be offended. "And you clearly aren't convinced. I don't buy it. Admit it, you hate kids, don't you?""I hate kids," he says nonchalantly. "Happy?" "Nope," she pouts, crossing her arms. "Anyways, I'm going to bed.""O-okay," Jeongsob hesitates, secretly wanting to talk more, to hear her laugh. As Saebi starts to settle into bed, Jongseob finds himself feeling a pang of disappointment. He'd found himself enjoying their conversation more than he thought. He watches as she pulls the covers over herself, preparing to sleep. He clears his throat, trying to seem indifferent. "Hey, before you sleep," he begins, "there's one more thing we should discuss.""Yes..?" She asks with a soft voice. Jongseob tries to think of ways to prolong the conversation without seeming desperate. He decides to bring up a topic that he knows might get her attention. "Well, since we're gonna be pretending to be a married couple, we should probably figure out our backstory some more. Like, how we met, how long we've been together, all that stuff."He leans against the headrest. "Think you can handle that without falling asleep?""Gross," she groans, sticking out her tongue. Jongseob rolls his eyes at her reaction. "Oh, don't be so dramatic. It's just acting. We'll have to hold hands, hug, maybe even kiss in public," he says matter-of-factly, crossing his arms."I don't think I can fall asleep anymore," she sits up. Jongseob chuckles lightly at her comment. "Are you really that grossed out by the idea of fake affection? You're an agent; faking things is part of the job," he teases, amused by her reaction. "I know, I know," she says. "It's just strange.""Good thing we're not 20 years apart like most of the people working here, then," Jongseob says, and he wasn't lying only about five other agents were in their 20's. Saebi laughs softly, finally relaxing a bit. "Yeah, thank goodness for that. Can you imagine having to act like I'm married to someone twice my age?" She shudders comically, still finding the idea difficult to wrap her head around. Jongseob looks at her again, a small warmth in his chest that he hadn't felt in a long time. "Good night, Agent Black.""Good night, Agent Red."Jongseob groggily opens his eyes, squinting at the sunlight streaming through the window. He sits up slowly, the events of the previous day coming back to him.As he rubs his eyes, he suddenly becomes aware of the sound of movement coming from the other side of the room. He looks over to see Saebi, already up and quietly preparing for the day.He turns to his side to see the clock. 4 in the morning. "Wow, you sure get up early for a first year," Jongseob says, making his bed. "I guess I do," Saebi chuckles. "And Sr. Na wanted to talk to us today before we move to Seoul."Jongseob nods, still feeling groggy. "Great, an early morning chat with the old dude. Something to look forward to," he mutters sarcastically. He glances over at Saebi, who is already dressed and tying her hair back into a ponytail. "You're all ready to go, huh?""Yup!" She smiles. "I'll wait for you at the door." She walks out the room. Jongseob walks out after a few minutes, wearing his uniform. "Sorry to keep you waiting." "It's okay, it wasn't that long!" She says. They walk down the long, dimly lit hallway side by side. Jongseob glances over at Saebi. He had to admit, she was quite the looker, even in the unflattering uniform. As they reach Sr. Na's office, they knock on the door and are quickly invited in by a muffled voice from inside. "Come in!" Sr. Na says. The two walk into the room and bow, greeted by a smiling Sr. Na at his desk. "Sit, children, sit. There are some things I would like to discuss with you about HB." Saebi and Jongseob take a seat in front of Sr. Na's desk. BSr. Na leans back in his chair. "So, I trust you've both read the mission brief?" he asks, receiving nods from the agents."Good," he continues. "Now, to business. As you know, the house we have set up for you in Seoul is a luxury penthouse located right in the heart of the city. It's equipped with the latest high-tech security systems and surveillance.""We understand," Jongseob nods, his voice unknown of any emotion. "And that you two have been given twins as well," he takes out a manilla colored folder and opens it, revealing two photos, one of the boy twin and one of the girl. Sr. Na points to the photos. "You'll find these pictures in your mission pack as well. The girl is Yoo-young. She's five years old and has a reputation for being quite the talker. The boy is Woo-young. He's a quiet kid and very observant for a child." He glances up, studying their expressions to gauge their reactions to the information.Wow, they suck at naming twins... Saebi thinks, but quickly hides her feeling with a smile. "Wow, they're so cute!" "I guess," Jongseob murmurs, glaring at the photos. "When do we meet them?" Sr. Na smiles, noting their reactions. "You'll be meeting them in Seoul tomorrow . Remember, you'll be pretending to be their parents, so try to get acquainted as soon as possible."He pushes the folder over to Saebi and Jongseob. "Inside are the files of your fake family. It includes your new identities, business records, and other information. Make sure to study them thoroughly." The two nod, and Jongseob takes the folder. "Oh, and there's one more thing,"Saebi and Jongseob look up from the folder, waiting for Sr. Na to continue. Sr. Na leans forward on his desk, a sly smile on his face. "We have a photographer booked to take some 'family' photos of the four of you tomorrow morning at the penthouse," he says, his tone almost playful."O-ok..?" Jongseob says, annoyed for some reason. "You may be excused. Pack your bags tonight and wake up at 2 in the morning tomorrow." Sr. Na dismisses the two. "Have a good night, morning, day, whatever it is right now."Saebi and Jongseob stand up and bow respectfully to Sr. Na. "Yes, sir," they say in unison. As they exit the office, they begin walking down the hall back towards their room. Jongseob grumbles under his breath, still irritated by the whole 'family' aspect of the mission.
