Time skip 2 Months later
First POV
As I headed home from my morning run I got a call from El Capitan. (" Hey choompa are you free for a job?"). I answered, " Sure I got nothing going on right now". ("So I have this dumbass friend who lost his wheels in a bet with a Maelstrom, but those wheels were not his, so now we need someone to get them back").
("Alright send me the deeds, and I'll take care of it".("Nova, and remember no one needs to know you were there. You don't want to deal with Maelstrom right now ").
"I know, those android wanna-be gang, is still in a turf war with the 6 Street"
("Nova, sending you the deeds, good luck Ghost")
As I enter my apartment I see someone lying on my couch. "Yoo Davy, where's the food at?".
"Beca why are you here? I already paid my debt to Maine last week."
"I know I'm here to hang out with a friend" she smiles at me.
"hangout with a friend huh? Are you sure is not because your brother spend all your money on new Chrome again?"
hah, she's trying to steal my food again. joke's on her I have to go shopping later because I'm out of food right now. I just told her that we should just go out to eat after I shower.
As I turn on the water I start to think to myself about everything that has happened in the last 2 months.
2 months ago
as I was heading home from Padre's last gig I opened my apartment door just to have a gun about to be pointed at me, in that fraction of a second I activated my sandi and moved behind the guy who was about to shoot me.
I pointed my gun at his head and deactivated my sandi. everything returns to normal and, I'm a little shocked to see 5 more people with the same look of shock on their faces looking in my direction. I come back to my senses first and look at all of them and notice that my neighbors and that pretty blond from last time are here too, I press the gun on the guy who I just noticed is actually a girl, and say
"One of you takes out a gun and this lady here gets flatline"
they all come back to their senses and the big guy who looks like Muhammad Alih on steroids said
"you shot her and we smoke you after"
I look at all of them and notice that everyone here has guns and 2 of those girls are runners, (that's bad my ice is shit). I should have bought better ice, Ill just have to ask Vik about it later.
"Well, who are you and why are you in my home?"
"My name is Maine and we were looking for your Mom, Gloria Martinez"
I Look at him and think to myself, (ohh so this is Mr. M, so he must be here for the money mom used for the academy, or the sandi. well can't give him the sandi anymore so let me play dumb and try to just pay him the money back and be done with it.
I looked at him and said "Mom died last month so just tell me what you want, and ill see what I can do"
he looks shocked for a second and then says "Sorry about that but I purchased something from your mom. but never got it, so I came looking for answers".
"so how much do I have to pay now, cause I don't think you are going to let her kid off that easy".
I drop my gun and put it in my bag, they do the same and I sit by the kitchen. they all relax and the big one just asks me if I have the item he purchased, of course, I deny it.
"well if you do not have the item I'm gonna need my eddies back"
"how much?"
"30,000"
I fake being shocked and think to myself (fuck I only have 27000 after my last job). well, I guess I'll have to ask if I can pay him in installments).
"I don't have that much I can give you half and the rest later, just give me a month"
he looked at me for a few minutes and said "Fine kid I'll take half and you can have your month but I'm gonna need extra for the late fees."
"Fine an extra 2000 eddies should do it"
my eyes glow and my account is now 12000 eddies (fuck that's half of my money)
His eyes glow and smiles and leaves with the rest of his crew, but before I can relax I get a message
Maine"Ohh almost forgot I'm gonna send some people from my crew to keep an eye on you just in case you try to skip town ;)".
Back to the present.
I get out of the shower. I had to get extra jobs but I finally finished paying my debt to Maine. and surprisingly I even became friends with some of them
"Alright Beca let's go, ohh and also let's invite Lucy I have a job that needs a runner"
"Ok give me a second to send her a message"
as we head to the restaurant I think to myself (I need a new Car), my last one got trashed after that job I did with Maine's crew (fuck that's 18000 eddies to the trash because they can't work silently).
"She is going to meet us there"
"Nova, lest go then I get hungry after my Morning runs".
