I open my eyes and look at the clock (12:37 pm) uhh! I look at the ceiling and think to myself ( woke up a bunch of new memories of myself from another life, lost my Mom, stole from a bunch of lowlifes, almost got killed, killed someone, and is finally downed on me that I might actually live in a video game world or at least a parallel universe that's similar to it).
I got myself to the bathroom, took a shower brushed my teeth, or at least the future version of it which is just a rinse, and your teeth are as white as the color white.
went to the living room and I saw the backpack and the nylon bag I took to the raiding on the scabs yesterday. I went to make myself so breakfast first and then took a look at the stuff I stole
5 pistols, 1 submachine gun, 1 shotgun, 1 laptop, 4 shards which might or might not have money, and the eddies I got from the bodies of the scabs plus the money that was already in the box (3730 eddies) not a bad for my first time (not including the fact I almost die).
"I'll sell all the guns and keep 2 pistols just in case. the rest I'll sell to the gun store in the mega building then go to the manager to pay for the rent buy some ammo and look for another scabs base to loot if I can".
after selling the weapons a got an extra 2700 eddies " Honestly I can't believe I go 1400 just for the shotgun, I guess is good luck it was a modified shotgun" After that, I went to the manager of the building to pay the rent but after I did the little dirtbag told me I still have to pay another 2500 eddies for the late feeds and the previous month's late feeds, so course I told him politely to fuck himself and that I was moving out anyway but he still keeps the 2200 eddies for last month. Told me that per regulation I had 1 week to vacate the apartment before he kickeds me out.
I went back to my apartment 2200 Eddies Poorer went to the computer that came with the apartment, and looked up another place to live. An hour later not finding anything I decided to look over Mom's emails and her stuff to see what needed to be packed up and taken with me when I moved out. I found some messages my mom was having with someone named M about an item he purchased something and transferred 30,000 eddies to mom? " how! then where did the money go? and what did mom sell this guy" So I kept checking all her accounts and messages and found out she paid 28500 to Arasaka Academy 3 days ago. Also found an email from someone named Kado Kurodo the admin of the 3 years. which said "Mr David Martinez due to the issue you caused with the equipment in class 2389 Engineering 4 the academy has decided to withdraw your application for the new semester and expel you if the amount for the replacement of equipment is not transferred by Monday afternoon. Please make sure the payment goes to the account number (xxx-xxxx-xxxx).
as I finish reading the emails and messages I look up and sigh…. " well I guess I will be expelled from the academy tomorrow well not like I was going to go back anyway but still those corpo rats just stole almost 29000 eddies from my mom" I'm going to have to go to the academy on Monday for the refund sigh… I kept looking around until I found something that I was not expecting to find. Inside mom EMT jacket there was a bag with a sandevistan inside.
so that's what my mom was gonna sell to Mr. M. Well now I have 2 options: A: continue the transaction with Mr.M or B: I use the sandi for myself. On one hand, do I risk Mr. M coming after me after he figures out that he won't get the Sandi or do I risk it and increase my chances of survival in night city?.
3 hours later I was outside the door of a Ripper doc after I made an appointment to see him (after I found him through the internet) I entered after I nock a couple of times on the door
inside I greet Dr Viktor Vektor "Hello Dr.Vektor"
Vik: "Ohh please kid call me Vik you make me feel old"
David: "Then please just call me David"
after the introduction we talked a little about where I'm from and if I was Merc already and some small talk
Vik: so kid how can I help you today?
David: "Well I wanted your professional opinion on a piece of cyberwares I have. I look through my backpack and take out the Sandi, Here take a look" I say as I give him the bag with the sandi.
Vik: "Kid where did you get this from?"
David: "You can say I found it somewhere in my crib"
Vik: "Well kid let me tell you this is not just any Sandi from the readings I'm getting after scanning it. I can tell you is powerful for sure, but I will need to do a thorough scan of what's inside and what functions it has. Well that's only if you want"
David: "Yes, please"
Vik: "Well kid just wait 45 minutes till I'm done scanning it then"
1 hour later
Vik: "Well kid do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first?
David: "Bad news."
Vik: "Well the Sandi is an experimental product I don't know from which corporation though which is already bad news (I looked at him with a troubled face) don't get me wrong is definitely top of the line better than anything that's on the legal market and black market the only people who can afford it are elites corporations security also the Sandi once installed send data to a server that collects information from how it performs from user to user".
David: "So I can't use it then"?
Vik: "That is not what I said. No kid you can use it, I already removed and trashed the shard that sent the data now is like any other military-grade sandi, and you can use it without worrying about someone spying on you".
David: "But?…"
Vik: "But this Sandi will put a tremendous amount of stress on the body of the user, if you are planning to get a lot chrom you run the risk of becoming a cyberpsycho... There is a solution to this problem though, but you would be limited to a certain limit of how much chrome you can get in the future. (I look at him and nod for him to continue) the solution I came up with is for me to put a limiter on the Sandi so your body can get used to it and not shred your muscles and fry your brain, but is up to you kid"
David: "… and the good news"
Vik: "If you decide to not use the Sandi then you can sell it. And this experimental Sandi that's basically one of a kind can go up to 250,000 eddies"
David: "WHAT!!! How???"
Vik: "Kid trust me the are people who would pay that much for a monster like this one. This Sandi at 100 percent can make it look like time-stopping this sandi was made to compete with the stuff they put on cyborgs from the big corpos or at least that is what I got from the data I managed to find on the shard. Still, the amount of time is only seconds but you can kill a lot of people with something like that".
Vik: "So kid? What do you want to do"?

I opened the door of the apartment and went to the bathroom took a shower sat on the couch and reflected on everything I did today
I ended up agreeing and installing the sandi plus a new ballistic coprocessor(cyberware for hands)(3500 EU), Lynx Paws(cyberware for legs)(7000 EU), and finally Kiroshi Optics (Eyes) the cheaper ones he had(700 EU). And how could I afford all of that with my 4230 eddies(had to subtract the rent payment that he did at the beginning of the chap) Well now is only 500 eddies and I have a debt of 5000 eddies to Vik, also that's with the discount he gave me for first-time customers (technically he only charge me for the cyberware for the legs which he insisted it would make using the sandi safer and the optics where so I can see where I'm going in the accelerated speed). I can't use any of the new cyberware for the next 2 days until my body gets used to them.
even though I'm happy that now I can actually do missions safely and I'm stronger I don't like being in debt. Well, tomorrow I'll get the refund for the eddies Mom had to pay for the academy so it should be fine.
(Author here: AU is aero dollars in the game so I'll use it for prizes instead of eddies at least for items that the MC is looking to buy.)
