Although Uchiha Hui doesn't find many chances to use hand-to-hand combat, gaining more skills never hurts.
Compared to most physical techniques in the ninja world that require coordination with ninjutsu or bloodline abilities (like the Cloud Village's ninjutsu or the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist), the techniques mastered by Might Guy are considered the purest. All that's needed is to remember the movements and the chakra flow, without worrying about forbidden techniques, aside from the Eight Gates.
It's especially useful when dealing with simple-minded opponents—practically effortless. Why not take advantage?
Uchiha Hui kept a serious expression, locking eyes with Might Guy, and in a mock enthusiastic voice, said, "I'm inspired by your youthful spirit, and I want to experience your youth!"
"Oooooh!" Might Guy's energy seemed to ignite like flames, fists clenched in celebration. Behind him, it was as though waves were crashing against cliffs, radiating enthusiasm. "This is youth!"
Guy eagerly demonstrated all the physical techniques he knew, aside from the Eight Gates. When he realized his training goal hadn't been met, he excitedly prepared to start over.
Uchiha Hui, discreetly activating his Sharingan, copied Guy's movements and techniques, but Guy didn't notice. When he suggested training together, even Uchiha Hui, despite his experience across two lives, couldn't hide his discomfort and quickly found an excuse to escape.
Of course, just copying Might Guy's taijutsu wasn't enough for Uchiha Hui. Physical skills still required strong physical fitness, and while Hui could match the strength of his peers, he knew widening that gap quickly was unrealistic. The key to power was in ninjutsu or genjutsu.
Since his single tomoe Sharingan already had the vision comparable to a three-tomoe version, capable of copying physical techniques, could it also copy ninjutsu?
Hui wanted to test this. Even during wartime, the ninja academy only taught the basics like the Three Body Techniques. But since his goal wasn't basic ninjutsu, he knew the academy wasn't the place to experiment.
To unleash elemental ninjutsu, the corresponding chakra nature was needed. While Uchiha Hui hadn't officially tested his chakra nature, he knew that, being from the Uchiha clan, he most certainly had a fire affinity. After all, the Uchiha were renowned for their fire jutsu, alongside their Sharingan.
He picked up a pair of children's sunglasses from the market and returned to the clan. He soon found a father teaching his son the Fireball Jutsu.
Though it's a basic technique among the Uchiha, its power ranks high among its class of ninjutsu. It's the kind of technique civilian ninjas only encounter after reaching a certain level. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the Uchiha's signature move.
As a member of the Uchiha clan, Hui didn't draw suspicion, even with sunglasses on. He activated his Sharingan, carefully observing the father's demonstration—the chakra flow, hand seals, and rhythm—all stored in his memory. Now, he just needed a place to try it.
Practicing in the Uchiha compound would be too risky. But outside the village, he'd need to avoid being seen. He remembered the forest where he had killed a giant snake earlier—remote, uninhabited, perfect for his experiment.
Once he arrived at the forest, the giant snake's corpse was still there, though its blood had long dried. Strangely, the body hadn't decomposed, and no animals had scavenged it.
Hui approached the stream, closed his eyes for focus, and began weaving the hand seals. Managing the chakra flow required concentration, and it took him almost two seconds to finish the sequence.
Serpent - Ram - Monkey - Boar - Horse - Tiger.
Hui recited the name of the jutsu aloud as he finished the seals, "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
With a deep breath, he exhaled a stream of fire, forming a massive fireball over the water's surface.
The fireball was about a meter in diameter, larger than five-year-old Hui himself. The heat caused steam to rise from the stream's surface.
After maintaining the fireball for about seven seconds, Hui felt his control slipping and released the jutsu.
"Boom!"
The fireball shot forward, slamming into a tree, easily three times wider than Hui. The explosion left a hole a meter wide and 20 centimeters deep. The blackened, charred remains of the tree stood testament to the power of the Fireball Jutsu.
