Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

As Uchiha Hui had anticipated, when it came to teaching fire techniques, his father, Uchiha Hikaru, would naturally choose the clan's signature skill—the Great Fireball Technique.

Although Hikaru doubted Hui would master it right away, he decided to demonstrate the move. Slowing down his hand signs, Hikaru took about six seconds to complete the sequence, releasing the powerful fireball. He then repeated the move at normal speed.

After finishing his demonstration, Hikaru turned to Hui and said, "Now it's your turn."

Having already mastered the Great Fireball Technique, Hui could easily perform it. But since this was meant to be his "first" time using it in front of his father, he controlled his chakra output, producing a fireball the size of a large basin instead of the enormous one he could manage.

Hikaru stared in astonishment at his son's fireball. The flames cast shadows over his weathered face, making his silver-streaked hair look even duller. He murmured to himself, "He really is a genius... the amount of chakra, the effort, the talent…"

Hui, noticing his father lost in thought, ended the fireball and asked, "Father?"

Hikaru snapped out of his thoughts, sighed, then smiled faintly. "Well done. Continue to practice. When you graduate, I'll let you copy the advanced ninjutsu that your chakra can handle from the family scroll."

Hui, curious as to why his father didn't simply unseal the scrolls for him now, still smiled and said, "Thank you, Father."

Whether it was praise or a promise, Hui responded appropriately.

Hikaru gave a small nod and then asked, "Why the sudden interest in learning ninjutsu? Did something happen at school?"

Hui hesitated briefly, then looked directly at his father with a tone of quiet resolve. "No, I just want to get stronger, quickly."

In reality, there was a boy from the Hyuga clan in Hui's class who had been giving him trouble. When Hui had skipped a grade after his early enrollment, it had stolen the spotlight from this boy, who had previously been the class standout. But to Hui, this boy was nothing more than a bothersome fly—annoying, but not worth much attention.

When Hui arrived at the academy the next morning, he noticed something unusual. Normally, the "fly"—Hyuga Feiyu—would immediately begin taunting him. But today, Feiyu was already seated and didn't make a move or say anything.

However, the moment Hui stepped into the classroom, Feiyu's blank, white eyes glanced his way. Though he quickly looked away, the brief glance was enough for Hui to sense something was off.

As Hui approached his desk, Feiyu's eyes darted toward him more frequently, until Hui was nearly at his seat. That's when Feiyu's nervous gaze fully gave away the situation.

Hui didn't believe a six- or seven-year-old could pull off anything particularly clever. After all, true prodigies like Kakashi were extremely rare. So, Hui casually glanced at his chair—and immediately understood what had happened. Feiyu had sawed through one of the chair's legs and hastily reattached it with tape. If someone sat down, the leg would break, causing both the chair and the person to fall.

Hui shrugged. It wasn't a very impressive prank, but he didn't expect much more from Feiyu. Without hesitation, he sat down calmly.

Feiyu, who had been struggling to contain his excitement, leaped up as soon as Hui sat, pointing at him with a gleeful grin. "Ha! Got you! Let's see you fall now, you show-off!"

The rest of the class turned their heads toward Feiyu, curious. But when they saw Hui sitting calmly without any trouble, their eyes shifted back to Feiyu with confusion. Feiyu's triumphant expression froze in place, and he quickly sat back down, embarrassed.

Hui didn't say a word and continued sitting quietly, ignoring the incident.

Later that day, after their survival class, Hui left his seat. Unable to resist, Feiyu rushed over to examine the chair. To his confusion, everything seemed intact, just as he had left it. He hesitated for a moment before sitting down.

Crack! Thud!

The chair gave way beneath him, sending Feiyu crashing to the floor.

Hui shook his head as he walked past without so much as a glance, muttering quietly, "What an idiot."
