Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:BETTER LEFT FORGOTTEN[PART 1]

"I'm off to play Mother," a boy declared as he dashed out the wooden door of their cottage. "It's okay, just remember the ground rules, Will," a woman's voice called after him. "Yes, Mom," the child shouted, already quite a distance from the house.

William felt the wind as it rushed past his face, his white hair fluttering freely in the unrestricted wind. "Mom said that I shouldn't use my powers when anyone is watching, right? So that means if no one is watching, I can do anything, right?" A mischievous smile appeared on his face as he glanced around to see if anyone was nearby.

"Coast clear," he muttered to himself as he darted into the forest. He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, weaving left and right, taking sharp turns as he maneuvered through the thick forest, his tiny body allowing him to navigate places otherwise impossible for the average human, all in an attempt to go as far away from the village as possible.

After an intense run that would leave even seasoned athletes breathless and struggling for oxygen, William arrived at a clearing. It was surprisingly large, prompting William to wonder why no one had built a house there. The land was quite even, with a beautiful blue lake in the middle, seemingly perfect for fishing.

Approaching the lake, William washed his face and drank the clear blue water without any worries of contamination. Then came his favorite part about this place - it was perfect for using his powers.

He made his way toward the conveniently placed boulders as if they were beckoning him to use them for his training. After taking a deep breath, he entered a state of complete focus, feeling the wind, hearing the birds chirping, and even sensing the small critters moving about in their domains. He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply, envisioning the boulders rising into the air with a simple command from the boy.

Playing with the floating boulders as if they were toys, he deftly manipulated them, despite their potential to cause harm. A six-year-old boy was effortlessly controlling these massive boulders, making them orbit around him and flinging them around without a care in the world. His deep crimson eyes flickered with excitement and glowed as if a sign that the young boy was using powers unexplainable to man even at this point. The laws of physics the boy paid no regard to them of what importance were they. To him, those were just some self-placed rules dictating what one could and couldn't do here comes the shocker, he didn't obey rules.

After manipulating the boulders to his will for some time he got bored the game of lifting and throwing the boulders seemed to lose its allure, plus he had a nagging feeling that someone or something was watching him, so he decided not to take any chances. He sat down thinking of what fun things he could do with his abilities when he came here the next day. He was unable to think of anything so he began his journey towards the village where he would meet other children to play with.

-------Ben's POV-----

"Bye, babe I'll come back in the evening cause ill go to the market directly," Ben told his wife as he prepared to go out. "Bye, baby see you later." his wife while planting a kiss on his cheek.

Ben left his house but instead of going where his fellow fishmongers were going, he went further up into the mountains and deeper into the forest. He had come across a large lake once when he was mountain climbing he thought it was a shortcut though he wound up lost and it took him three full days to find his way back but either way a win is a win. He walked briskly as he did not want to be late to the market which would in turn make him not find a stall to set up making all his efforts vain.

"Boom, Boom, Boom," the earth shook as he kept advancing to his fishing spot he broke out into cold sweat as the booms heightened in intensity the closer he got, 'What the hell is happening?' he thought. Ben finally neared his fishing spot but due to fear of whatever was causing the disruptions he decided to check it out from a distance. His jaw fell as he saw what was taking place.
