Chapter 3 - Chapter 3:BETTER LEFT FORGOTTEN[PART 2]

Right there in front of his very eye was a young boy seemingly controlling large boulders, from his perspective, the boy's eyes shone with a deep crimson color with a sadistic-looking smile plastered all over his face. Ben stood there shocked unable to fathom what was taking place before his very eyes, seeing and believing went hand in hand yet Ben failed to believe the young boy manipulating the rocks so adeptly without laying a single hand on them.

'This can't be there is no possible way,' his composure shattered as he had a mental breakdown, in the face of what cannot be explained the human mind crumbles trying its best to piece together what cannot. This was exactly what was happening within Ben's mind wreaking him. The boy sat down ostensibly contemplating something unknown to Ben, and shortly after he stood up and left the place.

Ben sat down collecting himself the disappearance of the boy from his sight made him calm down a bit. His clothes were drenched in sweat but he was full of energy his flight or fight reflex finally activated he was torn between fishing are racing back home to his wife and daughter. He held his temple as he walked towards the lake, the damage to the surroundings was evident, he always wondered if the clearing kept getting larger and larger today he finally saw the cause of the slow but sure increase in the area of the clearing.

Trees were left without the top part with splinters jutting out like daggers. The overall beauty of the place was greatly diminished. 'If he is able to damage inanimate objects to this extent what will he do to living breathing beings, I can't even begin to imagine what would happen if such a person was let to roam free, he must be stopped somehow. But what can mere humans do to such a being' Ben thought to himself.

He had been so awestruck by the boy's abilities that he saw humanity as a lesser creation. Could conventional means work against him? He decided to stop worrying so much about it, as it would only burden his mind for no reason. He continued to fish as he pushed the matter to the back of his brain.

The children were playing freeze tag, a classic game where one group would freeze and the other would unfreeze the frozen players. Laughter filled the air as the kids sprinted and dodged, their voices echoing through the playground. William was a particularly skilled player and was known for his ability to tag others with ease. His quick reflexes and agility made him a formidable opponent, and even the adults found it challenging to escape his grasp. The joy on the children's faces and the sounds of their gleeful shouts created a lively and vibrant atmosphere, showcasing the pure delight of childhood play.

Little did they know that their mindless recreation play would be coming to a gruesome end. Granny Emma as the kids called her was an old woman with amnesia who lived just next to the park they played in her amnesia made it easier for the kids to trick her into giving them more candy by going to her house more than once though it was only when she remembered that the day was Halloween.

Granny Emma on that specific day had decided to make herself some tea. She went over to the cooker in her house and opened it as she was going to turn it on she remembered she didn't have a matchstick with her she forgot to fetch one and went back to watching the television leaving the gas leaking.

The kids were still busy playing without a thought in the world when they noticed Mark walk towards Granny Emma's house with a lit cigar ominously glowing in his mouth. Mark was Granny Emma's good-for-nothing son who would often get drunk and make a shame of himself. Without minding him they continued playing.

"Hey ma, Why does it smell like ga---BOOOOOM. It was too late by the time Mark sensed the gas the cigar on his mouse had lit the propane gas hovering within Granny emmas house prompting it to blow up.

The explosion was sudden and deafening, a violent burst of energy that shattered the tranquility of the surroundings. The air was filled with a blinding flash of light, followed by a shockwave that rippled through the area, sending debris flying in all directions. The force of the explosion was tremendous, shaking the ground and rattling nearby structures.

The sound was a thunderous roar, resonating through the air like a primal scream. For a moment, everything seemed to slow down as the chaotic scene unfolded. The force of the blast tore through the air with a ferocious intensity, leaving behind a cloud of smoke and dust that obscured the once-clear view.

The impact of the explosion was felt in the very core of the surroundings, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Shards of glass, splinters of wood, and other debris were hurled into the air, creating a dangerous and chaotic environment. The force of the explosion seemed to reverberate through the air, leaving an eerie silence in its aftermath.

The aftermath of the explosion revealed a scene of devastation, with the remnants of the blast scattered across the area. The once-peaceful surroundings were now marred by the destructive force of the explosion, a grim reminder of the raw power unleashed in an instant.
