"Damn. He didn't even give me the chance to think about another question." John gritted his teeth. 'And what did he mean by "don't make me bored"? How does he even know when a level is gonna happen!?' He got up from bed. "Well, I don't know when it's gonna happen, but if he is right I might as well get prepared." 'Although..I might be too trusting about him.' He started to get his clothes on. He looked at the room. It wasn't his. It didn't even have all of his things, but it did have some. "What the-"
"Heya!" Howard barged into the room. John fell down to the floor from the sudden opening of the door. "Howard? What- How?" Howard closed the door. "Nice to meet you again." He was puzzled. How could Howard have been there? Maybe "The King" had sent him to the Alexandra Arms Inn. But no, based on what happened last time the place just seemed to vanish. 'I thought it was just a hallucination from the smog and other things in that alley.'
"Welcome back to the Alexandra Arms Inn. I'm here to help you get ready for your level." 'Wait, I'm here for the level? Is that why I'm in a different room?' John got off the floor and dusted himself off. "So what am I supposed to do?" Howard pulled out the golden revolver out of his pocket. "Do what you have been doing." 'Wait so I have to kill more people? Shit I didn't even prepare! I wanted Vincent to make something.' "Ok." He took his gun and laid it on the bed. "You're up next. Better get ready."
Howard then left the room. "..." John didn't know what to say. He was about to get what he wanted. Ever since learning about the cards he had the desire to collect them, this was just step one but still. And yet it was like he didn't want the level to come to him this easily. It was like he was given a free handout for being poor! But he continued putting on his clothing. His side still hurt greatly but it was neglectable. He also found his holster for the revolver, and his rifling gloves under the clothes.
"How did they even get my things?" John was now in his fully black outfit. He didn't even realize that it was that outfit. He put on the holster and his gloves, then covered his head with the hood. He put the revolver inside the holster and headed outside the room. Instantly several lights covered him, and blinded him. As he heard an announcer. "Welcome"Blessed ". Today is the day you get to prove your strength! TODAY, you start a journey! Just don't lose your mind." He spoke that last part very low, but anything that was happening was drawn out by a very loud ringing noise. The light went off of him and to the other side of an arena.
John could finally see. And he saw all the different gods that ruled over everything below them. Most started booing him as the noise got to him. He looked over to the other side where the light went. He saw a dastardly creature. It was of great horror. It had bloodshot eyes that glowed red, a pale muscular body drenched in blood, steam coming right off its skin, green ooze coming out of different cuts and holes, and an army's worth of weapons all piercing its back.
Whoever was next to it seemed to be injecting something into it. And whatever it was made it angry, very angry. The other person disappeared, and through the ringing he could hear a "Start!" And the creature pulled a battle ax off of his back and charged at John. "Shit!" He pulled at his revolver, but it was already too late. The creature swinged and struck John. He went flying and hit the other wall, cracking it. The good thing was that only the pole hit him. The bad thing was that he could now barely see anything. Blood covered his vision as he stood back up.
John pulled his revolver up. Smoke was also covering the arena now from where he hit the wall. He couldn't see the creature but he knew it was close. He could hear its slow breaths. Then he saw its red eyes rushing at him. He dodged out of the way and shot at it. He heard it groan in pain. He got back up and took a deep breath. He took off his hood and walked around in the smoke. The creature then came up behind him again and he dodged again. He then shot it in the eye.
It became even more deranged. It charged again, knocking John back into the wall. The smoke cleared and the wall was cracked even more. The creature pinned him to the wall, and brought up its ax.
