I will never understand how Gods and celebrities live and love to be the leading icon of people's lives.
The concept alone gives me a headache.
"Just so we're absolutely clear, Baraka, I will say again that i am no god," I repeated for the seventh time as I stood in front of Baraka.
We were standing in the forest nomad section, again. Baraka was standing in front of me with several other people around him. I suspect they were friends and family.
"You have made that clear, great Zack," Baraka nodded. "But, we would not be alive if not for you. Most of us would not have even survived the forest, let alone the trip through the desert alone. We owe you our lives. As such, your grace means the world to us."
I sighed while shaking my head. Honestly, I don't think there's a way for me to convince them to not see me as their guardian spirit or something. I guess as long as they know for a fact I'm no god, it's not that big of a deal.
"Alright, but no worshiping. Praying to me will make no difference in your lives," I said and Baraka nodded.
He moved aside and a woman walked up holding a baby covered in cloth in her hands. (Wasn't she the one who held the jugs of water?) I thought back to the desert trip before shaking those thoughts away.
I looked at the baby who was sleeping. It had Baraka's tanned skin but his mother's black hair.
"This is my wife, Hesha, and this is our son, Zaraka,"
Baraka said motioning to his wife and child.
(Zaraka? I seriously hope there's no deeper meaning to that name,)
I thought to myself, resisting the urge to groan. I turned to my water element and held my hand forward. I place my finger on the baby's forehead and dragged it downwards, trying my best to avoid putting any pressure on the claw..
"Um... May you have a happy life," I said as a wet line was on the baby's forehead and lead to the start of his nose.
Honestly, I was just going with what Gilgamesh told me to do to just get this over with before I join the carts going to the farms.
I trusted his opinion on this matter. Being a king and all means he most likely did something similar to this.
The people around us began cheering while the mother hugged her child and Baraka hugged her.
I just tuned out the cheers and the repeated 'thank you, great Zack' from the parents as I just turned around and walked away.
This better not be a repeated thing because just doing it once was awkward, embarrassing, and annoying.
I pretty much have most of the city memorised, so I didn't need a guard to escort me to the carts that were waiting near one of the gates of the city. "Elemental Zack, shall we leave?" The guard asked. The Uruk guards seemed more at ease around me. Maybe because I've been around for a while now.
"Sure," I nodded and I began walking next to the cart
after the rider whipped the rope and the horses began moving.
The trip to the farms will take a couple of days and dealing with golems will most likely be annoying. But, if I'm right on how to get the wind element, it should be worth it.
Besides that, the golems were on the road from what Enkidu told me. So, we don't really need to reach the farms to finish the Obviously, I was still gonna help the people.
The new element was a bonus.
We've been travelling for nearly the whole day.
The sun was setting and the sky was turning orange.
We were surrounded by empty plains with the only noticeable feature the road we were walking. Obviously years of use molded it like that.
"Elemental Zack! Golems ahead!" One of the guards yelled and the cart came to a stop.
The golems, obviously enough, were made of stone.
They were brown in colour with red eyes and large humps made of jagged rocks. They were just walking around mindlessly, most likely haven't noticed us yet. One more detail. They were big enough to step on a person.
(These things are big! How come they're not a priority to- Oh, right. Age of gods,)
I thought to myself realising that this era most likely had more dangerous stuff to offer for Gilgamesh and the city to worry about. "Alright, you guys stay back and I'll handle these things."
This could give me some battle experience.
There were three golems, and they looked like they can put up abdecent fight.
My most intense battle yet has been either the worms in the desert or Gilgamesh, and the latter's fight was cut halfway through.
Back then, simple ordinary golems were actually the best thing I can fight with. Now, there's hardly much that can put up a true fight.
Then again, that would be expected when you become powerful enough to throw fists with freaking Crimson Moon Brunestud.
