Chapter 25 - Windy Weather [3]

"Urgh, Dammit," I groaned while I fell on the ground again.

I was in my wind element and in an open field behind the castle, and I was still trying to get the hang of flying. But, as one can guess from my current position, it wasn't going well.

Gilgamesh spent most of the day just standing at the side while laughing his ass off.

He didn't leave until Siduri came in and told him he had work... for the third time. The first two he just shrugged her off.

Enkidu was still here. He was looking at me with a hand on his chin. I don't really know what he was exactly thinking of.

There was another thing I don't understand. "Why does this keep happening?" I asked myself.

Every time I try to fly, the wind would just explode everywhere, knocking me away. My control of the other elements went pretty good, but air just seems different, I guess.

"Perhaps the method you use is incorrect?" Enkidu commented before looking at me. "Tell me, what exactly are you trying to do?" I sighed as I stood up and moved my neck around. "I've been trying to get the air to left-"

"Ah, there's your problem," Enkidu immediately cut me off after I said that. "You have been 'trying' to do something. From what I understand of your abilities, you do not need to 'try' to do things and you simply will them. I believe the reason the wind kept acting so violent is because you were putting effort in an effortless task. Tell me, did you actually need to try to use the other element?"

I stayed quiet as I stared at him while thinking this through.

He wasn't wrong.

I haven't exactly been 'trying' to control the elements as much as I was willing them to do what I want. Heck, when my limbs regenerate, it was something that happened naturally.

While I always had to feel that certain 'strain' when using the elements on a big scale, it wasn't really tiring because I wasn't even trying, it was more like my will was being resisted.

"Okay... let's try this again," I began focusing again, but this time I was focusing on flying itself rather than trying to get the wind to do it for me.

There was no sound of wind this time, but slowly, I was starting to lift off the ground until I was floating at least a couple of meters.

"It's working!" I said while looking at the ground beneath me. This time, there was no explosion of wind.

"Ah, so I was correct," Enkidu commented while walking closer to me. "Now that you are able to fly, what are you planning to do?"

" Well, I have a few ideas," I said with a chuckle.

After spending a few weeks doing something like playing Uno with freaking Gilgamesh, you start getting daring in what you do with him.

Third POV:

"This better be the last for today, Siduri," Gilgamesh commented as he took another a stone tablet from the woman.

"Yes, your majesty," Siduri replied while taking a few steps back.

Gilgamesh looked over the stone tablet. Another report on the city's expansion. He he believed he should deal with that to stop getting these reports every-

Splash

Gilgamesh jumped in his seat as a pile of water was spilled on him. He turned to with a glare and saw Zack in his wind element floating over the throne with an urn in his hands.

"Well, you said a breeze wouldn't help you cool off, I thought a bucket of water would," Zack said, carelessly throwing the urn over his shoulder causing it to break. Siduri's eyebrow twitched at the sound of the broken urn.

"So, turning to air has caused you to lose your mind? If so, all you had to do is ask me to kill you," Gilgamesh said with a glare as a portal appeared behind him.

"You'll have to catch me first," Zack said as he floated out of the throne room as fast as he could.

"GET BACK HERE, TREE!" Gilgamesh cried out and Siduri was treated to the sight of the king of Heroes chasing a being made of wind while holding a very large spear made of gold.
