Jossel knew that the battle ahead of him was way out of his league. He knew that if any one of them got even close to it, they would quite literally evaporate off the face of the world without a second passing.

They were definitely tough; however, thanks to David's presence, a lot of the major factors were mitigated and focused on him as his power over the laws of the world was constantly overriding and intersecting against Bathin's.
These monsters were mostly shambling mounds of earthen material fashioned into crude shapes of humans, animals, and other such creatures. Whatever they touched or threw themselves at would regress, literally.
On a creature, they would turn to dirt; for regular metals, they would return back to the ores and other components they were made of.
