Synopsis
Daniel awakes in a new world with the ability to summon Pokémon. In a fantasy world where men live and die by the sword, Daniel and his Pokémon bring a new way of life. As you may have guessed, not everyone welcomes this new way of life preferring to hold on to the past, comfortable with how things are. Can Daniel manage to weave through the politics of nobles, tame the wilds run by bandits, and fight the flames of war so that humans and Pokémon may live in harmony? --- Authors Note: Please don't copy my story onto other sources without my permission.

Chapter 1 - (Prologue) The World's Will

The first thing Daniel noticed was the smell. It wasn't the sterile, faintly metallic scent of a hospital room where he had last fallen asleep. Instead, the air around him was fresh and crisp, tinged with the fragrance of wet earth, wildflowers, and something… magical. His senses, dulled by his previous life's final moments, were suddenly sharper than ever. The sounds of a nearby animal galloping through a forest and the chirps of unfamiliar creatures made him stir, and as his consciousness slowly returned, he knew something was wrong. Or rather, something was different.

Daniel blinked as his vision cleared, taking in the sight before him. Above, a vast sky spread out like an infinite canvas of blue, and around him stretched a sprawling meadow bordered by a dense forest. Rolling hills rose in the distance, their slopes peppered with ancient trees and vibrant patches of wildflowers. The sun, warm and golden, bathed the landscape in a comforting glow, making it feel surreal, like a scene out of a fantasy book.

He sat up abruptly, his head spinning with questions. The last thing he remembered was the cold touch of death in a hospital bed, his body frail and ravaged by illness. He had felt his life slipping away, and there had been no fear—just an overwhelming sense of regret that it had ended so soon. He had barely reached his twenties, with dreams of adventure that had consumed his childhood. And now… this?

"Am I… dead?"

His voice was hoarse, barely more than a whisper. He pinched himself, and the sharp pain that followed confirmed that this was no dream. Daniel stumbled to his feet, his body feeling surprisingly strong, almost rejuvenated. He flexed his fingers, testing the range of motion. Nothing hurt. No aches, no lingering weakness. In fact, he felt… better than he ever had.

As he stood there in stunned silence, a voice echoed in his mind, soft yet authoritative.

"Daniel, welcome to your new life."

He froze, his heart skipping a beat. "Who…? Who's there?"

"I am a part of the World's Will," the voice continued, as if answering a question that Daniel hadn't quite formed yet. "You have been granted a second chance. In this world, your soul has been reincarnated into a new body, free from the limitations of your past life. You have been chosen."

"Chosen?" Daniel muttered, confusion flooding his mind. "For what?"

"To bring forth creatures of great power and wonder to this land. Creatures from a world once familiar to you, known as Pokémon."

Daniel's mind raced, his thoughts colliding like a jumble of puzzle pieces that refused to fit together. "Wait… are you saying I've been brought here to… summon Pokémon?" He barely believed his own words as he spoke them aloud, yet the strange familiarity of it all tugged at the edges of his memory. The voice had mentioned 'creatures' from a world familiar to him. The games, the anime, the cards, Pokémon had been his obsession for as long as he could remember. But this… this was impossible, right?

A soft chuckle echoed in his mind, though not unkind. "Indeed. This world is vast and full of magic, but it lacks the beings you know as Pokémon. You have been granted a unique gift, the ability to summon and bring these creatures to life here."

Daniel stood in stunned silence as the voice explained further. "You are the first as well as the last from your world to arrive here along with the beings you can summon beside you, but your connection to these creatures is unique. They will obey you, live with you, and grow strong by your side. You have the power to build something new here, something that will change the course of this land's future."

The weight of the words pressed down on him, and the enormity of it all began to sink in. He wasn't just *reborn* into another world—he had been given a purpose, a power unlike any he had ever imagined. A thrill of excitement shot through him, mingling with the confusion and disbelief.

"But why me?" Daniel asked, his voice barely a murmur. "Why would you give me this ability? I'm just… I'm nobody."

The voice was silent for a moment, as if considering his question carefully. "Sometimes, the most ordinary people are chosen for extraordinary things. In your past life, you were bound by the constraints of a world that could not accommodate your dreams. Here, there are no such limits. You will find your way, Daniel, and in time, you will understand."

And just like that, the voice faded, leaving Daniel alone in the meadow once more. His mind whirled as he tried to process everything that had just happened. He had died, yes. But now, it seemed, he had been reborn into a world that bore all the hallmarks of the fantasy books and games he had once loved. And he had the power to summon Pokémon? That was… insane. And yet, a deep part of him was already starting to believe it.

Deciding to test to see if everything he'd hoped to be true, was in fact the case. He mentally focused on one specific Pokémon, his personal favorite. Willing it to appear, hoping that it would work. As if on cue, something materialized before him. A small, spherical object that he instantly recognized. A Pokéball.

It floated gently in the air before him, gleaming in the sunlight, and without thinking, Daniel reached out and grasped it. The moment his fingers wrapped around the familiar smooth surface, a rush of energy surged through him. He knew what this was. He knew how to use it.

With a flick of his wrist, he threw the Pokéball into the air, and in a burst of light, a creature took form before him. Floating there, gazing down at him with bright yellow eyes, was a massive shiny Rayquaza.

Daniel's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the stunning sight before him. It's sleek back scales, glinting in the midday sun. It floated there, with just as much fascination in Daniel as he had for it. The sun would occasionally reflect the red and yellow patterns across it's body, a stark contrast to the black scales. For a moment, they simply looked at each other, both of them a little uncertain, a little awed.

The Pokémon let out a low growl, tilting its head.

Daniel took a step forward, his heart pounding in his chest. He reached out, hesitantly at first, and when the Rayquaza moved closer, nuzzling against his hand, a laugh of pure joy escaped him. It was real. The creature he had only ever seen on a screen, the one he had always dreamed of having by his side, it was real, and it was right in front of him.

"Hey there, big guy," Daniel whispered, his voice full of wonder. "I guess… we're in this together, huh?"

The Rayquaza roared happily in response, and Daniel felt something shift inside him. This wasn't a dream. This wasn't a game. This was his new reality, and as impossible as it seemed, he had been given the chance to live the adventure he had always wanted. He had the power to summon Pokémon, to bring them into this world and live alongside them.

But what would he do with this power?

As he stood there, looking out at the vast, untouched landscape before him, an idea began to form. This world, this new, magical world, was different from the one he had left behind. It was also different from the original Pokémon world. There were no trainers here, no Pokémon Centers, no established leagues or competitions. But people still lived here, worked here, and struggled here. What if… what if he could bring Pokémon to them? Not just as companions or fighters, but as partners in their lives, as beings that could help shape their world?

He would start here. A place where people could come to find and bond with the creatures he could summon. A place where he could build something lasting, something that would change the way this world worked.

His heart raced with excitement at the thought. It was bold, it was crazy, but it was possible. He could feel it.

His companion at his side looked at him, its eyes full of trust and curiosity.

"Well," Daniel said, grinning over at his new partner, "I guess we've got some work to do."

And with that, Daniel took his first steps into the unknown, with a heart full of hope and a world full of possibilities before him.
