The restaurant fell silent, all eyes on the confrontation.
Mira's face went pale, and she looked at Oasis with a mixture of fear and concern.
"Oasis, don't..." Mira whispered, but Oasis placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"Relax, Mira," Oasis said calmly, standing up and turning to face Jumbo.
"Jumbo, right? If you want a duel, let's take it outside. There's no need to cause a scene here."
Jumbo sneered, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Fine. Outside, now!" he growled, storming out of the restaurant with his followers.
"Oasis, are you sure about this?" Mira asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"Mira," Oasis replied, his expression serious. "I'll handle this."
They walked outside, followed by a crowd of curious students eager to see the duel. Oasis stood calmly, waiting for Jumbo to make his move.
"This is going to be interesting."
"Do you think that brat stands a chance?"
"Jumbo is in his 2nd year of practicals. I heard he's already at the Newborn realm."
"Let's just watch."
"Jumbo just wants free merit points."
"Someone call an instructor to bear witness," Jumbo roared.
As the crowd and Oasis moved to the nearby training field to have their duel, an instructor arrived to control the duel.
"All the rules apply. No killing allowed. One wins if the other can no longer fight or if one gives up," the instructor announced.
---
"The duel between Jumbo and Oasis Volacris begins!" he announced.
"Oasis Volacris!"
"It's him, the one who nailed the exam."
"Unfortunately, this is not cram work; it's fighting."
---
"Time to die, nerd!" Jumbo roared.
He unleashed his energy and charged towards Oasis, channeling his mana into his elbow for a powerful strike.
He moved fast, aiming to hit Oasis on the head.
!!!
"Did it connect? Was he too weak? I didn't even feel an impact," Jumbo thought, confused.
Oasis had used his footwork technique, displacing himself and leaving a mirage.
He moved slightly away from Jumbo, evading the attack effortlessly.
"Damn, what technique is this?" Jumbo muttered, surprised.
"I don't have time to play around. I must finish this quickly," Oasis thought seriously as he started moving fast.
Using his Dancing Phoenix technique, Oasis shifted swiftly and very fast, leaving mirages in his wake.
!!!
In a few breaths, he struck Jumbo in the solar plexus using the back of his heel, rendering Jumbo unconscious.
The crowd fell silent for a moment, stunned by the sudden end to the duel.
---
"What just happened?"
"Did he knock out Jumbo in one move?"
"That was incredible! I've never seen anyone move like that."
"what technique is that? "
"Who is this Oasis Volacris? He's not just a bookworm after all!"
"Oasis Volacris... he's someone to watch out for."
---
Oasis stood over Jumbo's unconscious body, his expression calm and composed. He turned to the instructor, who nodded in acknowledgment.
"The duel is over. Oasis Volacris is the winner," the instructor announced.
The crowd erupted into murmurs and whispers, their respect for Oasis growing.
"Wow, that was...," Mira started, but she was at a loss for words.
Oasis smiled at her, his eyes gleaming with determination.
"Let's go, Mira," he said, as they walked away from the training field, leaving behind a stunned and awestruck crowd.
"We have someone like this in the academy," the instructor thought, surprised. "I could not even follow his movements."
---
As they walked back, Oasis was lost in thought. "Not bad, but it's not there yet," he reflected on his technique.
"It was nice seeing you again, Oasis. I have to go now," Mira said.
"Alright, see you around," he replied.
Oasis went back to his place after separating from Mira.

In a large, stately room filled with shelves of ancient scrolls and books, Great Instructor Leonardo paced back and forth, deep in thought.
The room was adorned with symbols of power and wisdom, and the air was thick with the scent of old parchment and incense.
"He did what?" Great Instructor Leonardo exclaimed, his voice echoing off the wooden walls.
"Yes, sir. He passed the written exam and also defeated a senior in a duel," Seraphina replied, her tone respectful but laced with a hint of pride.
"We have a little monster in our academy." he remarked, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.
The atmosphere in the room was electric, a mix of excitement and curiosity.
Leonardo's eyes sparkled with interest as he contemplated the potential of this new prodigy.
"Keep an eye on him," he instructed Seraphina. "I want to see how he develops."
Seraphina nodded, understanding the weight of Leonardo's words.
"Of course, sir. I'll make sure to monitor his progress closely."
Leonardo leaned back in his chair, a satisfied smile.
"This could be the beginning of something extraordinary," he mused, gazing out of the window at the sprawling academy grounds below.
---
Meanwhile, Oasis returned to his place, the training field still showing signs of his and Agni's sessions.
He stood by the lake, reflecting on the day's events, the water's surface mirroring his contemplative expression.
"I've decided to make my magic a side dish."
"I will mainly use martial arts techniques, but I need a close combat martial technique besides the sword technique I have," Oasis thought, determination in his eyes.
The academy grounds buzzed with the news of his victory, whispers and speculations spreading like wildfire.
Students and instructors alike were abuzz with excitement and curiosity, eager to see what this new prodigy would achieve next.
---
Amongst the top ten elites of Oasis's group, only Oasis had written the exam; the others were yet to take it and were busy preparing.
The news of Oasis's achievement reached everyone in the academy, including them:
Prince Aelric Evergreen, Agni Ignis, Zane Bluemoon, the Frostveil twins Amelia and Ameliana, Bazel Emberclan, Jorin Shadowfen, Azalia Riverwind, and Yota Ironclad.
This news made them more serious and pushed them to work harder.
---
"We got a star in the academy, huh?" a boy remarked, curious and envious.
"I heard he's from your family, Zion," said a young woman, her eyes sharp with interest.
"Yeah, he's my little brother's sworn brother," Zion Bluemoon replied, "And what is it to both of you, huh? Juzo Shadowfen and you, Magnolia Riverwind?"
Juzo, with his dark and brooding aura, and Magnolia, with her graceful yet formidable presence, exchanged glances.
Zion's expression hardened.
"I warn you both, if you touch him, trust me, I will cripple the both of you."
His voice was deadly serious as he leaped down from the mountain cliff where they had been talking, leaving the two in thoughtful silence.
