Chapter 118 - Chapter 118 Secret

"This... is also a secret. I can't really explain it!" Kai replied calmly.

He couldn't exactly say he had a god-like perspective, could he?

"But rest assured, I mean you no harm. Otherwise, you'd be long gone by now. You know that better than anyone."

Robin pondered for a moment. He was right. If Kai had any intention of harming her, she wouldn't have been able to resist. And what could she possibly have that he coveted?

Shaking off those thoughts, Robin approached the bell tower. Her curiosity about the ancient text had drawn her in.

She began reading the Poneglyph aloud.

"The Ancient Weapon bearing the name of a god—Poseidon, located at..."

"Another Ancient Weapon..." Robin murmured to herself before speaking up to Kai. "Crocodile once told me the Poneglyph in Alabasta might hold information about the Ancient Weapon Pluton."

"But I couldn't find the Poneglyph back then. So I never knew if what he said was true."

"He's right. That Poneglyph does mention Pluton," Kai answered casually.

"You know?" Robin looked at him, surprised.

"I know a lot. It confirms that Pluton exists, but it doesn't reveal its location. Just that it's sleeping somewhere in the world. Unlike this Poneglyph, which directly states Poseidon is on Fish-Man Island."

Robin's eyes widened in shock—she hadn't revealed the full content of the Poneglyph yet.

"Don't be so shocked. Not only do I know where Poseidon is, I also know what Poseidon is."

"Just as I know where Pluton lies dormant. And... I know who holds its blueprints."

Kai's barrage of revelations left Robin utterly speechless.

"Three Ancient Weapons: Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus. All of them capable of devastating the world. But even I only know about Pluton and Poseidon. Uranus remains a mystery to me."

Kai then turned to Robin. "Oh, by the way, there's something left here by Gol D. Roger. You should take a look."

History needed to be experienced and unraveled by Robin herself if she was to fully understand it. That was why Kai had brought her here.

As for the spoilers he dropped—they didn't affect the deeper truths of history.

Leaving Robin to her discoveries, Kai had other plans in mind. He wanted to pay a visit to the so-called "god" that ruled over this place. It was only natural, having come all this way.

With a mere thought, Kai's figure vanished.

At that moment, in the shrine draped in enormous vines...

A half-naked man wearing a white scarf, with large earlobes and thunder drums on his back, lounged on a chair, eating an apple.

"Infinite Earth, endless Vearth... Soon, soon, I'll be there!" Enel muttered, staring blankly at the sky, lost in fantasies about his dream of the Infinite Earth. But a strange voice snapped him out of it, causing his heart to skip a beat.

"Yohoho, that tune is nice!"

Enel spun around to see a man standing calmly in front of him, gazing at him indifferently. Enel's heart raced in disbelief.

How could this be? He controlled the entire island with his Mantra, his "Heart Network." How had this man entered without him noticing?

Enel focused on Kai and, after a moment, his expression changed.

He couldn't sense him!

Even though Kai was right in front of him, and despite activating his Heart Network at full strength, Enel couldn't detect Kai's presence. It was as if Kai didn't exist at all!

If not for seeing Kai with his own eyes, Enel would have believed he was facing an illusion.

But, in an instant, Enel's face returned to its usual calm.

What did it matter if the Heart Network couldn't sense this man? He was a god, a being beyond the reach of mortals. There was no one who could defeat him.

Enel looked at Kai coldly and spoke, "You mortal, do you realize the penalty for stepping into this god's shrine without being summoned? It's death."

"You've got guts, but... Pfft!"

Before Enel could finish, Kai suddenly appeared in front of him and landed a powerful punch to his abdomen.

Enel spat out blood as his body flew backward, slamming into the shrine behind him.

"Why do you talk so much? Are you asking to get beaten?" Kai muttered as he sat down in Enel's chair, which was made of clouds. It was surprisingly comfortable.

In the world of pirates, strength was everything, and Kai had plenty of it. With his current power, he could go anywhere, unchallenged and without fear of danger.

It felt pretty great.

"Damn human... I'll kill you!" Enel roared, a burst of lightning flashing around him as a massive bolt of thunder hurtled toward Kai.

Kai casually raised his hand, coating it in Armament Haki. Grabbing the lightning with his bare hand, he gave it a firm squeeze, crushing it into shards of electricity that scattered around the room.

"How... how is this possible?"

Enel's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible! I am a god! No one can defeat me!"

"Scoff!" Kai chuckled coldly at Enel's words. "Ignorance breeds fearlessness. The smaller your world, the greater your misplaced pride."

"There are countless people stronger than you. The Goro Goro no Mi was wasted on you."

Kai smirked, considering his next move.

"Should I just end Enel now?"

After a moment's thought, Kai decided to let him go. Though Enel was weak compared to him, he would still be a valuable opponent for Luffy and the others, who were just beginning to master Haki.

Enel and his priests, with their Heart Network—essentially an advanced form of Observation Haki—could serve as excellent training for the crew.

"Alright, I've had my fun. Time to head back," Kai said calmly as he stood up.

The main reason he had come here was to test the power of the Goro Goro no Mi. If Kai hadn't already chosen a Devil Fruit, this one would have been a great option for him.

Incredible speed, devastating attack power—one of nature's deadliest forces. Truly an amazing ability.

A smile crept across Kai's lips as he slowly walked away.

Enel remained crouched among the rubble, not daring to move. Despite the brief confrontation, he knew he was no match for Kai. How could he even think about stopping him?

But anger and confusion swirled inside Enel. Who was this person?

After that encounter, Enel made a firm decision: He would set sail for the Infinite Earth on his ark the next day.

He needed to leave. Someone like Kai made him feel incredibly uneasy. Only the boundless Vearth could give him the security he sought.
