Kai casually chose a direction and started walking deeper into the island. Seeing this, Vivi hurriedly followed behind him. In her mind, sticking close to Kai was the safest option.
Luffy, on the other hand, randomly picked a path and bolted ahead, excited. After days of non-stop training, the sight of a new island was exhilarating for him.
"Oi, Zoro! Make sure to bring back a huge beast for me to cook later!" Sanji called out, lighting a cigarette.
"Don't worry. I'll bring back something so big that you won't even know how to cook it!" Zoro retorted.
"Huh? What did you say, you stupid moss head?"
"Are you deaf, curly-brow cook?"
In an instant, sparks of rivalry flew as the two locked eyes, their invisible Haki crackling.
"Fine, let's settle this!" Sanji declared, leaping off the ship.
"Yeah, let's see who catches the bigger prey!" Zoro replied, walking in the opposite direction, both determined not to lose to the other.
"Wow, this dinosaur is massive! How many meals could we make for the crew from just one of these?" Kai mused as he faced a towering dinosaur.
"Kai... Mr. Kai , is now really the time to think about food?" Vivi asked, almost tearing up at the sight of the gigantic creature. "That's a dinosaur!"
But Kai was unfazed. His mind was already racing with ideas. "Wait, I could just store these dinosaurs in my system space! That way, we'll have fresh dinosaur meat even after we leave Little Garden!"
Feeling like a genius, Kai eyed the dinosaur in front of him with newfound excitement. He was ready to go on a dinosaur-hunting spree.
"Hehehe..." He chuckled.
"Rankyaku!" In an instant, sharp air slashes shot from his feet, slicing the dinosaur into pieces before it could react. The pieces disappeared into Kai's system storage.
For the rest of the day, Kai continued hunting dinosaurs, with Vivi tagging along. At first, she was shocked, but after seeing Kai make quick work of several more dinosaurs, she grew oddly calm. Eventually, she even felt like she could take one down herself—though her body's instincts held her back.
Suddenly, Kai's attention was caught by something unusual. "Huh? What's that?"
In front of them stood a house made entirely of wax.
"If I remember correctly, this should be the work of Mr. 3, right?" Kai said, scanning the area with Observation Haki but finding no one inside.
"Well, since we're here, let's take a look."
He walked up to the wax door, pushed it open, and strolled in like it was his own home. Inside, he spotted several teacups and a pot of still-warm tea on the table. Not wanting to drink from someone else's cup, Kai took out two cups from his system space and handed one to Vivi.
With a flick of his wrist, a small flame appeared, heating the teapot. After a few moments, he poured tea for both of them.
"Ahh, nothing beats Earl Grey for afternoon tea," Kai sighed after taking a sip.
Vivi followed suit, smiling as she savored her cup. "Indeed, this Earl Grey is delicious!"
"By the way, why is there a wax house in the middle of this forest?" Vivi asked, confused.
"It's probably Mr. 3's work," Kai replied nonchalantly.
"Oh... Mr. 3..." Vivi said absentmindedly. Then her eyes widened in horror. "Mr. 3?!"
Before she could stop herself, she spit out her tea in shock. Kai , anticipating the splash, waved his hand, using wind to deflect the tea before it hit him.
"Relax, there's no need to freak out," Kai said, amused.
"S-Sorry!" Vivi stammered, still nervous. Despite knowing Kai's strength, the thought of facing a Baroque Works officer made her uneasy.
Just as Kai was about to speak, a rumbling sound accompanied by a mild earthquake interrupted them.
"Huh?" Kai quickly stepped outside and leaped into the sky for a better view. In the distance, the island's central volcano was erupting, and two massive figures stood up—Brogy and Dorry, the giants of Elbaf.
"The giants' duel, huh? This should be interesting," Kai muttered to himself. With a quick shout, he called for his Somersault Cloud.
In an instant, a yellow cloud appeared and zoomed toward Vivi. "Come on, Vivi!" Kai called down.
"Huh? Can I... can I step on this?" Vivi asked, nervous but trusting Kai . She carefully placed one foot on the cloud, feeling its soft and bouncy surface. After a few hesitant steps, she couldn't resist bouncing a little.
But before she could enjoy it further, the cloud rocketed her into the sky, causing her to scream in surprise. In a second, she was at Kai's side.
Without hesitation, Kai hopped onto the cloud, and they soared above the battlefield between the two giants. "Nothing beats watching a fight from up here," Kai remarked. "If I used Moonwalk, I'd have to keep stepping on the air. It's way more tiring."
Down below, Brogy and Dorry clashed repeatedly, their massive weapons causing the ground to shake and trees to sway violently from the shockwaves.
Kai watched with interest. "Their strength is impressive, but not as overwhelming as I imagined," he thought. No wonder Mr. 3 had managed to trick and injure them in the original story. They were strong, but not invincible.
"Well, let's see if their combined attack is as impressive as I remember. Don't disappoint me!" Kai muttered to himself, excitement building as he waited for the giants to unleash their true power.
