Chapter 43 - Chpater 43 The Grand Line, here we come

"Nami, I see the Red Line!" Luffy's excited voice rang out from the top of the main mast.

"Huh? Let me see!"

Nami quickly grabbed the telescope and scanned the horizon, where an enormous red mountain came into view.

At the same moment, Kai also took in the sight of the Red Line with his keen senses.

His mouth dropped open in astonishment.

He had expected the Red Line to be large, but he hadn't anticipated it would be this massive!

The difference between what you see in the anime and what you experience in reality is staggering. The shock isn't something you can get from just watching.

As they drew closer, everyone saw the Red Line up close, their faces mirroring each other's shock.

But then panic set in.

"Nami, it looks like we're about to crash!"

(๑˃̥̩̥̥̥̥̆ಐ˂̩̩̥̥̩̥̆৭)!

Usopp yelled in terror.

"What?"

Nami grabbed the telescope again and saw that the ship was speeding towards the Red Line. Due to the strong sea currents, they had lost all control of the ship.

A cold sweat broke out on Nami's forehead.

Could the chart be wrong? That's impossible!

Nami's face grew anxious as she frantically searched for a solution.

At that moment, Kai's voice came to her relief.

"Don't worry! Just let the current guide us!"

Nami turned to Kai , trusting his words because he had always been a reliable presence. But she still needed to ask, as it would help her sailing experience.

"Why is it okay to follow the current?"

"Look, there's a fissure in the Red Line ahead of us. That's where the canal is. The current is guiding us toward the canal, not the wall!"

"Huh?" Nami followed Kai's direction and saw the crack.

Her admiration for Kai grew even more. With him around, she felt secure, unlike...

Nami glanced at the other crew members, each looking confused.

These four knuckleheads!

"The sea... the seawater is actually climbing up the mountain!!!" Zoro exclaimed, peering through the telescope in disbelief.

He felt a pang of embarrassment. Just moments ago, he had been mocking the idea of seawater climbing a mountain, and now it was happening right before his eyes.

It's pretty unbelievable...

But can you blame him? Who would think seawater could climb mountains?

"Oh, you're a third-rate swordsman with no knowledge! You're like a clueless local!" Kai said disdainfully from the side.

For some reason, Kai found Zoro's bewildered expression amusing, though he himself had nearly lost his composure when he first saw the water flowing backward.

He didn't let it show; he was shocked on the inside.

As long as he kept his cool, no one would know he was also dumbfounded!

Despite already knowing about this phenomenon, Kai was still shocked by it. He and Zoro shared similar thoughts. They both found the concept of seawater climbing mountains absurd, but this world often defied expectations.

He realized he still needed to adapt to the bizarre nature of the ONE PIECE world. Otherwise, he might look foolish when they reach Sky Island.

"You idiot, what gives you the right to criticize me?" Zoro retorted.

m9( `д ́ )!!!!

Kai's figure vanished, and the next instant, his face was inches from Zoro's.

"Third-rate swordsman, look at me!"

"My skin is at least a few shades paler than yours. Who are you to judge my color?"

The term Zoro used was actually one Kai had taught him. In his previous life, that term had a very derogatory meaning.

When Usopp had accidentally blown himself up while making explosives, his face turned black, prompting Kai to use the term.

Zoro must have picked it up and used it on him.

How outrageous!

"You drink black coffee every day; what else would you expect?" Zoro was taken aback by Kai's sudden appearance but still replied defiantly.

???

Kai baffled. How did what he drank relate to this?

In that case...

"Bang bang bang bang!"

After a while, Kai clapped his hands in satisfaction and headed towards the bow of the ship, leaving Zoro behind, fuming.

When Kai reached the bow, he noticed Nami's serious expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

Nami pointed ahead and said, "The current will indeed lead us to the canal, but our course is slightly off!"

"If we continue like this, the Merry will definitely crash into the pillar next to it, and we'll be in serious trouble!"

"Oh~ I thought it was a big deal, but it turns out this is it!"

(o'ω'o)?

Nami looked perplexed. Isn't it a serious issue affecting everyone's lives?

Kai gave Nami a reassuring look, then turned to Luffy and said, "Luffy, turn into a balloon and cushion the impact at the door!"

Luffy:???

"Why should I?"

"Because you can do it! You're the captain, and only you can handle such a crucial task!"

Kai flattered Luffy, who, momentarily startled, soon grinned and said, "Haha, I'll do it!"

Ten seconds later, as the ship approached the door frame, Kai shouted, "Luffy, now!"

"I'm on it!"

Luffy leapt to the front, inhaled deeply, and swelled into a giant balloon.

At the same time, the Merry crashed into Luffy's inflated form.

"Boom~"

The ship's hull pressed against Luffy's belly, turning his face bright red.

Kai watched with satisfaction.

Sometimes, Luffy was quite useful!

With Luffy's cushion, the Merry realigned, heading straight toward the top of the mountain guided by the current.

After playing his part, Luffy stretched and returned to the ship.

Though a bit tired, his eyes sparkled with excitement.

"The Grand Line, here we come!!!"
