Grace knew Katelynn from way back.
In high school, they were inseparable—best friends, really. Back then, Grace kept to herself because, well, she was a vampire and didn't want to get too close to anyone. Katelynn, on the other hand, was great at everything, especially math, which was Grace's worst subject. Their teacher even suggested Grace ask Katelynn for help more often. Grace usually ignored most of the people in her class, except for Katelynn... and Lieselotte.
That day, Grace still remembers vividly. She had just left the teacher's office when Lieselotte came up to her, saying the teacher wanted them both to meet Katelynn. Grace felt relieved not to have to face things alone, so she asked if they could all go together.
Now, Katelynn doesn't even remember her. But that's not too surprising—it's been years. People forget, right?
