Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13

Marcus's pov

Even though I am in the hospital playing with these sweet kids my mind is still going back to my baby doll and the things I am going to do to her body when I see her. Now that I have had a taste of her I can't get her out of my mind. She is like a drug I can't stop taking.

"Thank you so much Mr. Mwale for the toys," Jared, one of the kids, tells me, snapping me out of my head.

"You are welcome, little man," I tell him, ruffling his hair. I have known Jared for four years now. He has been in and out of the hospital since he was diagnosed with cancer. He is one of the people who made life easy for me after Thelma ran away. I first met him when he was eight and he has been my little buddy since then.

"You look distracted, is everything okay?"  He asks. One of the things I love about Jared is that he is observant. The boy knows me inside out. He can read people's emotions just by being around them for a short period.

"I am okay, buddy don't worry."

"Okay, if you say so. Oh, I almost forgot the lady I always tell you about Is visiting today, nurse Clara told me yesterday. I will introduce you to her if she comes before you leave. Who knows maybe you guys can get along and stop looking lonely every time." He says with a huge grin on his face.

Jared is always talking about the woman who visits him but I have never had a chance to meet her. I hope I will meet her today. But I  know even if I meet her it will not change a thing because I already have my babydoll. I will meet her to put Jared's mind at ease and stop him from trying to set me up.

"Okay, I can't wait to meet her," I tell him.

"You will like her, she is kind and funny. She makes me happy every time she visits even if it's just once a month. But she also looks lonely just like you. I have missed her so much I can't wait to see her."

I am sure this woman is amazing just by the way Jared talks about her. I have never visited without him talking about her, and showing me what she brought for him. He calls her his Guardian angel.

"I am sure she misses you too just as I miss you when I don't see you for some time," Marcus says.

Jared is good company, there is no dull moment when with him. He is a happy soul and one hell of a fighter, he does not let his illness make him sad. I remember the first time I met him he was very sick but he managed to put a smile on my face. He has no one in his life apart from the nuns from the orphanage but he doesn't let that affect him in any way.

"She is pretty, you will like her. You will wish that you met her a long time ago." I don't know what's going on in Jared's head but I am sure he is already planning my wedding with the woman he keeps talking about.

"I will wait and see for myself, whether she is pretty or not. But for now, I am going to check on the other kids.  I will see you before I leave. And I hope your mysterious woman will be here." I tell him.

"Okay, I can't wait to see your jaw drop when you meet her." He says with a chuckle.

I leave Jared's room and go to the other rooms to check on the other kids. I spend about two hours playing with the kids and giving them toys and books. By the time I am going back to Jared's room to say goodbye I am exhausted from all the singing and jumping.

I hear Jared's giggles before I open the door. He is talking to someone who is laughing about something he said. But the laughter sounds familiar

"Oh my God Jared, you are making my ribs ache because of laughing." I hear the woman whose voice seems familiar say in between the laughter.

The woman's voice sounds like Juliana's. Could she be the woman Jared is ever talking about? Or maybe I am just losing my mind and hearing Juliana's voice even when she is not around. I open the door and both Jared and the woman turn.

"Oh, Mr. Mwale you are here just in time, I was just telling Julie about you," Jared says, still giggling.

I am lost with words and just staring at an excited Jared and my babydoll who is staring at me with wide eyes. She even looks more beautiful than she looked this morning.

"So you are the mystery woman Jared has been trying to set me up with," I find myself walking toward my baby girl and sitting beside her.

"Do you know her?" Jared asks, with excitement still in his eyes.

"Yes, I do know her." Jared makes an oh sound and starts giggling and clapping his small hands.

"I told you she is pretty. See you can't even stop your eyes from staring at her." Jared says, making Juliana smile nervously. Sometimes Jared makes me question his age, he does and says things that kids who are his age cannot say or do.

"You are right, Jared, she is more gorgeous than any woman I have ever seen," I tell him, ruffling his hair.

"You guys do realize that I am here and I can hear what you are saying," Juliana says.

"We know you here, we just want you to know that you are beautiful,"  I tell her looking her in the eyes.

"Thank you." She mumbles nervously.

"How long have you guys known each other? " I ask.

"I met Jared two years ago when I first started volunteering at this hospital," Juliana says with a smile on her face.

I can tell she is fond of Jared just by the way she is looking at him with so much love and care. I knew she was a good woman but I did not realize that she was this amazing. Most people don't like spending their weekends visiting sick kids but here she is smiling and playing with one.

"What about you, when did you meet Jay?" She asks.

"I met him four years ago, a month after he was diagnosed and we have been friends since then. By the way, why did you not tell me that you were coming here? I would have waited for you."

"I forgot about it, I only remembered after you left when Maggie brought it up. I think the activities of this morning distracted me." She says with a smile.

I am about to tell her that I was also distracted this morning and If Susan hadn't called I wouldn't have remembered. But the nurse walked in before I could say a word to announce that it was time for Jared's afternoon medicine and that we had to leave. Juliana and I say our goodbyes to Jared and then we leave the room.

"I am going to see what Maggie is doing." She says the moment we leave Jared's room.

"Do you want me to wait for you?" I ask her.

"No, you can go, I am not sure if Maggie is done yet I do not want to disturb your schedule for today."

"You can go and check if your friend is done. If she is not done let me know, then I will leave."

"Okay," she says, going in the opposite direction.

I watch her as she walks away and my eyes fail to look away. She is very beautiful and everything I have ever wanted in a woman and more. The way she walks shows how confident she is even though the world has only given her hurt. She is a strong woman because if it was someone else who went through what she has been through they would have given up on life. But not her, even after the shit she has been through she is still standing with a smile on her face.

I know I don't deserve her but I will try by all means to make her one of the happiest women in the world. I will make sure no harm comes to her again. I just hope my demons of the past will not come to haunt me and destroy what I am trying to build.

A few minutes later she comes back with her best friend who I can not find myself trusting trailing behind her. I know Maggie loves her friend but girls like her always have an agenda up their sleeves and hit their victims when they are not looking.

"You waited," Juliana states, smiling.

"Yes, I told you I was going to wait," I tell her, Offering my hand for her to take, and then I greet her friend who mumbles a reply with no interest.

"I have texted Eric to bring the car, he will be here shortly."

"I am meeting someone so I won't be able to go with you guys, Julie I will see you at home,"  Maggie says, when we get outside, kissing Juliana on both cheeks.

"Where are you meeting them from? You can ride with us if the place you are meeting them from is the same way we are going."  An emotion passes Maggie's face when Juliana tries to offer her a ride. I don't know whether it's irritation or disgust. This makes me wonder even more if Maggie is Juliana's true friend or if she just pretends to be one.

"I am meeting him at that coffee shop, so I will not be needing a ride," Maggie says pointing at the coffee shop opposite the hospital.

"Okay, see you later Maggie, I love you," Juliana says.

Eric brings the car and I open the door for Juliana to get in. As I am about to open my side of the car I feel eyes on me and when I turn I find Maggie looking at me with so much anger in her eyes. If eyes can kill I would be dead right now. What's her problem?

"Are you okay?" Juliana asks, noticing how uncomfortable I look.

"Yes, I am good. What do you want to do today?"

"We can do whatever you want to do." She responds.

To be honest I don't remember the last time I had done anything fun apart from the parties James hosts full of half-naked and fully naked women.

"I haven't planned anything today, we can just maybe go for lunch. I am sure by the time we are done eating we will find something fun to do. Or if it's okay with you I can tell Beth to cook something for us at my place."

"That would be great, we can go to your place but I will need to go to my place. I need to shower." My heart starts jumping the moment she agrees to go to my place. I was not sure she would agree.

"You can have a shower at my place if you want." I don't want to push things but if she is okay with it she can shower at my place.

"Okay, but I will need to pick up clothes to wear after bathing." Oh, I forgot about that.

"We can wash what you are wearing and you can wear some of my clothes until your clothes dry."

"Okay." She responds.

I can't wait to see her in one of my shirts, I feel my cock hardening at the thought. I don't know how I am going to survive a day with her without burying myself in her body. I just hope I  won't do anything to scare her off. I can't mess this up no matter what, I can't let her down. I want her more than I have ever wanted anyone in my life.
