Marcus's pov
I hear her infectious laughter the moment I enter the room. I stand by the door just watching her as she types something on her phone, I am sure she is chatting with her roommate Maggie. Looking at her makes me realize just how deeply I am falling for her. I don't understand how I fell in love this fast with someone I met a week ago. I have never fallen for someone this fast.
As I enter the room fully I find her watching something and smiling. A group of young men and women are coming out of the boat, and one of them is giving them instructions on where to go. It looks like they are looking for something.
"What are you watching?" I ask her sitting beside her on the couch. What she is watching looks familiar.
"Vikings Valhalla." She responds with a smile on her face. To say that I am surprised is an understatement, I never thought Juliana would be interested in something like this. Most women prefer romantic things. Vikings is one of my favorite series, I think I have rewatched it a million times. But I haven't had a chance to watch Vikings Valhalla. I have been wanting to watch it but work has been taking all my time lately, okay maybe that's not true considering I spent most of my time this week thinking about a sexy somebody who happens to be sitting next to me right now.
"What episode is this?" I ask her.
"It's the first one I just started watching a few minutes ago. Do you want to watch something?" She responds, biting her bottom lip. I don't think she knows what she is doing right now and if she does then she is good at acting innocent. There is just something about her biting her lips that turns me on. Looking at them right now makes me want to bite them for her.
"No, it's okay, we can watch this, is it okay if I rewind it? I haven't started it yet, I was planning on starting it today so it's fine."
"You want to watch this?" She asks in surprise.
"Yes, I have already watched all seasons of Vikings." I watch as she looks at me with her mouth slightly open.
"I am surprised, you look like someone who is into sci-fi."
"I love good sci-fi too. To be honest with you I can watch anything as long as it is good." I tell her.
She starts the episode from the beginning and we begin watching in silence. I think I am going to enjoy watching Vikings Valhalla the same way I enjoyed watching Vikings. I can tell by the first episode that it is going to be a good series to watch.
"Do you think this will be better than Vikings?" My babydoll asks with a smile on her face. I can tell she genuinely wants to know my answer which makes butterflies dance in my stomach. No one has ever made me feel like this, I feel like every word that comes from her mouth is important.
"To be honest I don't know which one will be better, I will tell you when the season of Viking Valhalla finishes. It has a great start but we will see how the other episodes will be." I tell her, earning another genuine Smile from her. Her smile is so bright and beautiful.
"Okay, I will wait for your answer." She responds still smiling. We continue watching in comfortable silence.
"Do you want to go eat from downstairs or can I tell them to bring the food here?" I ask her. I am sure she is hungry but shy to bring it up.
"Anything is okay with me." She responds.
I send Beth a message telling her to bring the food upstairs and she responds with an okay within seconds. One thing I love about Beth is her sharpness. She is so good at her job. Sometimes I wonder how I would have survived in this house without her.
"Beth will bring food here," I tell Juliana as I pull her to me so that she can put her head on my chest as we lie down on the chair.
We continue to watch Vikings Valhalla in silence both carried away by the series. There is something about it that makes someone want to pay full attention to it. I don't know if it's the way the actors carry themselves or maybe it's the actions that are happening.
Just like Vikings the first episode also starts with slaying but this one is different. In Viking, Ragnar was slaying the enemies. But in Viking Valhalla, the English kill Viking women and children to cleanse the land. But Little do they know that by doing that they are inviting the enemy to their doorstep.
"This is just cruel, why do they have to kill innocent children who don't know anything, they should have spared them," Juliana says.
"Because they are afraid the children will grow up and seek vengeance, so that's why they want them all dead, and besides it's just acting," I tell her, kissing her hair.
"Yes, you are right. Sometimes I forget that it's just acting." She chuckles. I hold her hand and start playing with it. I watch her as she watches the TV.
"Do you like children l?" I find myself asking her before I can stop myself. I have been wanting to ask that question since the moment we left the hospital.
"Yes, I like children. They are good to be around. I have two nieces and one nephew and I love them to death. They are one of the reasons I like visiting my big sister in Kitwe. I admit they are a lot to handle sometimes but they always manage to lift my spirit." I can tell she loves them just by the way she is smiling while talking about them.
"How old are they?" I ask her.
"Mark is ten and the twins Jack and Rose are six."
"I can tell you love them."
"Yeah, I do."
"Do you plan on having children of your own in the future?" I ask her.
"Yes, I want to have kids in the future." I can't help the smile that comes on my face after hearing her say that.
"Why are you smiling?" I hear her ask me.
"I am just happy that you want to have children in the future," I explain.
"Why are you happy?" She asks me.
"I am just imagining how beautiful your child would look and what features of you they would take," I tell her.
"I am sure yours would be good-looking too." She says as she lifts her head to look at me with a smile.
"You think?"
"I know it." She says with confidence and pulls my head down to connect her lips with mine. I deepen the kiss as I kiss her back. We kiss for a few seconds and then pull away for air. I turn her around and connect our lips again. I just can't get enough of her soft lips.
"You are going to be the death of me, I can not resist you no matter how much I try. I am trying so hard not to cross the line. But I do not know how much longer I can resist." I tell her as I caress her cheek. She tilts her head to my touch enjoying the feel of my hand on her skin.
"You make me want things I never knew I wanted. I discover something new about myself every time I am with you." She says softly.
I am about to tell her that I feel like that too all the time but we are interrupted by a knock. I open the door and find Beth and two other workers Lisa and Tony who help her in the kitchen with a pushcart with different types of food. I feel myself salivating just by smelling the food. Beth gets one of the bowls and puts it in the fridge. I think it is a dessert.
"Do you want us to serve you?" Beth asks.
"No, it's fine. You guys can go. And Beth before you go, there are Juliana's clothes in the bathroom, tell Mrs. Banda to wash them and make sure they are dry before evening."
"Okay, sir." She responds as she goes to my bedroom to get the clothes.
A few minutes later the servants leave so I remove two plates from the cart and put them on the table. I open the first serving dish and I am welcomed by the smell of grilled potatoes. The second dish has rice mixed with vegetables. The third dish is grilled fish. The fourth one has fried beef sausage. And the last one has vegetable salads.
"Baby girl, come we eat," I tell her as I put two side plates on the table. We each take a portion of food and continue watching TV as we eat.
