"It's fine Please sit down. I didn't think someone would show up this soon," Virgil replied
"Really, you expected this?" John asked
"Well, I knew someone would come talk to me about what I could do; I just didn't expect it to be someone of your caliber."
"Alright, then I will get straight to it. The bat wants to talk at the Justice League Tower. He wants you to join a team of kids with abilities like you," John explained
"The young justice I have heard of them, but I will grow better on my own than on a team of hormonal kids who don't know whether they want to sleep with each other or kill each other," Virgil replied with a sigh
"Fucking hell kid you don't hold back. Look, I get it. I'm not the team kind of guy either," John laughed
"Alright, boys, here is your coffee," said the waiter, pouring two cups of coffee
"Thank you, doll," John replied with a smile
"Thank you," Virgil also said with a small smile
"Yup, just let me know if you need anything else," she replied before walking away
"As I was saying, I'm not the team kind of guy, but I told the bat I would talk to you," John said, taking a sip of his coffee
"Alright, but tell me...what would I get in return for joining this team?" Virgil asked
"...I don't really do this stuff, kid, but if you do, join It will help the bat be less suspicious of you,' John said
"No, it won't."
"Okay, it won't, but if you do decide to at least talk to the team and the bat, I will give you one of my books on magic," John said
"What kind of book?" Virgil asked now interested
"Don't worry, mate. I will make it worth your time."
"...Alright, I will talk to them, but I'm not joining any team unless they agree to my terms," Virgil said after some time thinking
"Great, mate, shall we go?" John said
"I would like to eat breakfast first if you would not mind," Virgil replied as their food arrived
As they ate their food, John kept asking Virgil about his background, his abilities, and who he learned from. Not wanting to give any damning information he made up small lies using characters from Marvel and animes so they wouldn't not be able to trace anything.
Once the two finished, John paid the bill, and they left the diner. Walking to any empty alleyway, John took out a knife and began carving ruins into the ground. After he cut his palm and let his blood drip onto the ruin.
"This is one of the spells I will teach you," John said
"I thought you said one book."
"Well, I guess you can consider this a bonus for not being hard-headed," John said with a smirk
The next second, both Virgil and John disappeared along with the ruins as if they never existed.
....[A/N:This Justice League won't match the one in the show]
"Seriously, where is this kid?" Wally asked
"I don't know, but I hope he isn't as annoying as you," Artemis replied
"What do you think he can do?" Damian asked
"From what Batman told me, he was a magic user," Starfire replied
"A magic user, you say? Now that's interesting. Looks like we will have a new training partner, Raven," Zantanna said with amusement
"..."
"Maybe he will be the one to give Conner a fair fight," Rocket added
"All of you, be quiet for now. We can only wait," Aqualad spoke
As they waited for the new member, Batman walked into the room next to Superman and Wonder Woman.
"Batman, you have arrived, but may I ask why Superman and Wonder Woman are here?" Nightwing asked
"Well, I heard about the new kid and decided to stop by and see the kid that had Batman asking for help," Clark laughed
"I was also interested in his magic. It seemed very unique," Wonderwoman added
As everyone waited in the room, two figures appeared out of thin air, standing before the group.
"Looks like we made it in one piece," John laughed
"Was that supposed to fail?" Virgil asked, trying to gain his balance
"John, it's good to see you again, and this must be Virgil," Superman said, holding his hand out
"Boy scout, good to see you...Miss Diana and bats," John said, shaking his hand
Standing next to John, Virgil looked around the room, the feeling of standing next to Superman and the others still not fully registering.
Holding his hand out, Superman introduced himself to Virgil.
"A pleasure to meet you, Virgil. I'm glad you came to meet us."
"The man of steel, now this is something I never expected," Virgil replied, shaking his hand
"Hello, Virgil. I am Princess Diana. I heard that you are a magic user who uses unique magic," Diana said, holding her hand out
"A pleasure, but it's nothing special," Virgil replied, shaking her hand
"Can you show us? I would like to see someone who uses magic different from me and Raven," Zatanna said, standing a few inches from Virgil
"I'm sorry, but I did not say I would join this team yet," Virgil said, taking a step back
"Yeah, the kid said he had something to discuss before joining any kind of team," John said, rubbing the back of his head
"Go on," Batman said, seemingly expecting this
"Simple. I wanted access to your technology besides Luthor's and Wayne's tech. Yours is the best," Virgil said, pretending not to know Batman's identity
"No," Batman replied with narrowed eyes
"Come on, kid, what would you want with such things?" Superman asked
"Well, I have my reasons...Reasons I can't get into, but if you want me on your team, I want access to your technology and a lab I can use," Virgil continued
"Well, I guess this child is smarter than we thought. he came here with a plan," Diana said with a smirk
"Well, Bats, do you agree to his terms?" John asked
"...Very well, but it will be limited," Batman replied
"Great. It looks like we have ourselves a deal," John said
"Welcome to our team, Virgil. I hope we get along well," Starfire said, stepping forward
"Yeah it may not seem it at first but this is a good team," Dick said
{Virgil, may I ask why you limited yourself so much?} Sabastian asked
(It's called getting a head start. I don't plan to stay for long, but I have two major things I need to complete, and I need to be within the team to get them completed.) Virgil replied.
