Chapter 3 - Mio

[Congratulations, you have purchased a Mortal Summoning Token ×1]

[Select gender before summoning]

A four inch long yellow humanoid wooden figure appeared on my palm. It emmited an aura that was both holy and ancient. No matter how much and hard I looked at it, I could not perceive its facial features or gender, but the moment I willed for it to turn into a male of mid thirties,a white light engulfed it.

The figure levitated before dropping on to the rocky ground, a second later,a man in his mid thirties walked from the white light.

Just like me,he was dressed in a set of cotton clothes, his in a much better condition than mine. He was of an average hight, had a face full of black beards and broad shoulders.

His gaze was sharp, just like that of a general.

For a whole minute he sized me up,before looking at his surroundings.

I noticed his astonishment and shock, though he tried to hide them, the moment he saw the corpses lying around the dimly lit cave.

"You did all this?"

His voice was hoarse and contained a trace of fear.

"What do you think?"

I answered his question with one of my own.

Though he was older, larger and stronger than me,I did not flinch the slightest.

"I pay respect to my young lord."

The man had gone down on one knee and bowed to me. It seemed that my strength had won him over.

"Stand,we have work to do."

I said as I helped him up to his feet.

"You can call me Mio,young lord."

"Then Mio it is."

"Yes young lord."

"We need to deal with all this mess before more come our way,I need you to help me skin them, their hide could be useful in crafting,as for their teeth, sharp claws and bones, they could be useful in refinement."

"But first,let us eat."

I led Mio to my small stash of food, where we each had a loaf of bread and half a pint of milk. Luckily,I had safely stashed the three empty jars that contained the pint of water and milk away.

We cleaned up the corpses, and safely stashed all the usable materials away.

By the time we were done, close to two hours had passed by.

Though Mio was larger and stronger than me,I had him hide outside the cave,as I was afraid that his battle power and experience was quite lurking.

I did not want to involve him in a fight against the goblins,as I did not want my previous a hundred kill coins to go to waste, incase he ended up dying.

Also,he would end up being a liability, forcing me to divide my focus between the goblins and ensuring his safety.

At the two hour mark from the dispatch of the ten goblins,I picked up noises coming from the tunnel. From the noise and scattering of feet,I deduced that the goblins numbered had atleast doubled.

With a wide grin on my face,I crawled up the cavesm's wall and hung above the tunnel, awaiting the creatures that would award me kill coins.

A minute later,I counted a total of thirty goblins rush out the tunnel, their numbers had tripled, and amongst them,I perceived an aura that made my hair stand on edge.

The aura was from ten of these goblins, each was a shade lighter than their companions,a few centimeters taller, and had more muscles than the rest.

Though their aura was stronger and scary,I was confident enough that I could take them all out.

After the last goblin rushed into the cave,I silently lowered myself into the tunnel.

"Over here you gibberish speaking ugly piece of shirt!"

With a loud shout,I called at the same time cursed at the creatures.

My taunt was effective, as they all turned and looked at me. Round my neck was a necklace made of a single canine from each of their previous fallen companions.

It may have looked ugly and crudely made, but it has its purpose, and when the thirty pairs of eyes fell on it,I perceived a murderous aura directed at me,from the hoarde of goblins before me.

"That it you pieces of skunk fart!"

I shouted once more as I wielded a club on each arm and rushed towards the closest goblin.

With a swing from both sides, the goblin head was smashed into pulp.

But I did not stop at that,I quickly utilised my set of swift footsteps and engaged in a heated battle with the goblins. Apart from the ten with an aura a different aura, the others were not able to withstand three of my hits,as for the ten,it took me a couple of extra minutes to slay them all, leaving behind smashed corpses and splattered blood on the caves floor.

The battle had drained a bit from as I had continuously used the swift footsteps movement technique to evade the blows from the stronger goblins.

[Congratulations, you have killed a rank one origin realm goblin×20]

[Congratulations, you have received kill coins×200]

[Kill Coins: 235]

[Congratulations, you have killed a rank two origin realm goblin×10]

[Congratulations, you have received kill coins×500]

[Kill Coins: 735]

"What the heck!"

I cursed, but still had a smile on as I went through the system notifications. It seemed that the origin realm had different ranks, and each rank was worth more kill coins.

The ten stronger creatures were all rank two origin realm goblins, each worth fifty kill coins. Five times more than their predecessors.

I needed about a hundred thousand kill coins, that was equivalent to ten thousand rank one origin realm goblins or two thousand rank two origin realm goblins.

I could only hope that their numbers were enough.

It took Mio a while to register everything that happened, before we could both delve into cleaning the corpses.

As I skinned and cleaned the corpses, I kept on looking at the transparent screen, as there was a system alert that had me grinning.

[Congratulations, you have created a personal technique]

[Technique: Movement Technique]

[Rank: Mortal]

[Tripple movement speed by eliminating unnecessary movement and actions.]

[Status: Locked]

"I bet I have to become a cultivator for the technique to be unlicked"

It was not until past midnight, when we had noises coming from the tunnel.

The next batch of goblins had been dispatched, at that time,we were done with cleaning the previous corpses. And had been enjoying some loaves of bread and milk to replenish the lost energy.
