Morrigan pressed her cheek against the helicopter's window, watching the neon-lit skyline of New Shanghai pierce through the smog. The transport's engine hummed beneath her as she tracked the movements of other aerial vehicles passing between the mega-structures.
The pilot adjusted the controls. "That last mission in the docks was a hell of a show, wasn't it? Haven't seen someone did a mission that perfectly."
Morrigan kept her eyes on the passing vehicles. "Yeah. Just want to get home drink some coffee."
"Can't blame you. You're lucky you made it out without a scratch."
If he knew how many times she'd been hit, torn apart, and regenerated... Morrigan forced a smile. "Got lucky, I guess."
A new cluster of hover-cars crossed their path, their anti-grav fields creating ripples in the polluted air.
Morrigan reached into her vest and pulled out an auto-injector. She pressed it against her thigh and the device dispensed blood into her system.
