They slipped out of the van.
Roman held up a fist, signaling Xavier to wait. He pulled out his drone, and Xavier followed suit. The tiny machines whirred to life, rising into the air like insects.
Through his wrist-mounted display, Xavier watched the thermal feed from his drone. The docks sprawled before them, a maze of warehouses and shipping containers. Here and there, bright spots indicated guards on patrol.
Roman's voice crackled in his earpiece. "Two guards at the main gate. Another pair circling the perimeter. Looks like they're on a fifteen-minute rotation."
Xavier nodded, guiding his drone towards their target. "I've got eyes on Dock 17. Two more guards outside. And... shit."
"What?"
"We've got a problem. There's a mech patrolling near our entry point."
Roman cursed under his breath. "How big?"
"Class 3, maybe 4. Not something we want to tangle with."
"Agreed. We'll have to time this perfectly. Follow my lead."
