"I was genuinely surprised you actually managed to make it out on time today," Baisti remarked as soon as I stepped inside the spacious vehicle, which then began to glide down the long, winding driveway. For a moment, I chose to remain silent, my attention captured by the picturesque landscape outside the window, which flashed by in a beautiful blur as the vehicle, after undergoing a thorough check, smoothly passed through the towering gates that marked the entrance. "What is it, Storyia? Is something bothering you—" Lazily, I turned my head to look at the strikingly handsome man, whose looks could easily rival those of my husband, and with a hint of irritation in my tone, I asked, "Are you feeling bored, Baisti?" I looked at him a while longer to say something further but almost got lost in his eyes.
Those eyes—
What the hell is this trap story? I was actually trying to eat where I sh%$!
"Am I mistaken?" He asked in a seductive tone, drawing back to reality.
Eh?
Seductive?
I pursed my lips as if I was deep in thought, but in reality, I was secretly having a panic attack.
"Well, you are right," I replied softly, trying my hardest not to sell out myself.
A low but deep chuckle from Baisti echoed in the back seat of the vehicle, filling the air with a lightheartedness that contrasted with my mood.
I continued to stare outside, wanting the drive to hurry up and be over. "Just yesterday, I happened to see you being discussed by a well-known anchor online," he continued, clearly enjoying the conversation. I chose to remain silent, not wanting to engage too much. If I did, I am sure I would have other thoughts I should not.
I am married, oh great creator. "Both of them seemed to be your loyal fans," he added, as if trying to draw me out of my shell. While in all honesty, I was in faraway land.
Still, to keep the pretense up, I rolled my eyes in response; it was true that I had many fans, but acknowledging it felt a bit vain, even if it was simply a fact of my life. "The company—" he began to say, but I quickly cut him off, not in a rude way, but more out of a desire to steer the conversation elsewhere. I appreciated leisure and relaxation, but sometimes too much of it could become a bit of a nuisance. Baisti was undeniably a handsome man and had known me for many years, yet he was not my partner, nor was he my husband. Those thoughts that rose in my mind should be shoved aside in a box with the key thrown away. "You seem to be forgetting who I am, Vin Baisti, and who my mother is," I stated firmly, watching as his mouth snapped shut, realizing he had crossed a line. For the remainder of the ride, an uncomfortable silence enveloped us, creating a stark contrast to our earlier banter.
A little more than half an hour later, we finally arrived at the studio, the anticipation building as we approached. Before I finally decided to step out of the vehicle, I paused for a brief moment to get over the tedious task I must complete. A sigh escaped me. "You know this is a must." Baisti said. I looked at him, curling my lip to show my disgust, nonetheless. He chuckled. He handed me the first to cover my hair. I carefully placed a broad-rimmed hat that Baisti had thoughtfully prepared for me upon my head, making sure it was positioned just right to provide maximum concealment. In addition to the hat, I adorned my face with a half mask that obscured my features, carefully fastening it to ensure it wouldn't shift out of place. I also slipped on a pair of shades, which further shielded my eyes and added an extra layer of anonymity. Finally, I put on a jacket, a crucial piece designed to disguise my identity and protect me from any fanatic fans, especially the black one. With all these measures in place, I felt more secure in facing the outside world, ready to venture forth under the cover of my carefully assembled disguise. The door was opened just in time and, as I already expected, some people were already gathered as if they knew that some stars would be here.
As I stepped out of the vehicle, I looked up and admired the building's structure, taking in its impressive design, before walking forward with Vin Baisti closely following behind me.
"Wow, she's so tall!"
"Which star is that?"
"She has a great figure; too bad we can't see her face."
"Who cares? Both are tall, and the man is handsome; you can see most of his face even if it's partially covered."
"They look perfect together; look at his broad shoulders and long legs."
"Wow! They're huge!"
"Yes, I'd love to hang from those tree trunk legs and powerful arms." I nearly stumbled at the fans' excitement. Just at that moment, Baisti caught me effortlessly in his strong arms, his muscles making my heart race. I looked into his eyes, struggling to catch my breath, feeling momentarily lost in the intensity of the moment, when suddenly a female fan screamed with delight, "Ahhh, look at the hero saving the beauty! I want to trip too!" The enthusiasm in her voice echoed around us. In an instant, we quickly separated to regain our composure. Oh, dear great father help me!
I think I need my dog husband to rail me so good I pass out unable to think and only think he is a dog man.
"I'm fine being the side piece."
"As if he'd be interested in you."
"Who said I'm interested in him?" the female fan shot back. I almost stumbled again as they began to bicker. "Hey, Yu Zana, don't even…"
"What?! Say it."
"Don't push it!"
"I'll push it, and if you keep teasing me, I'll tell Aunty Gu!"
"Yu Zana!"
"Whatever, she must be beautiful to have such smouldering eyes," the girl said. I chuckled and moved on. "Of course, all stars are beauties; it'd be a sin if she weren't good-looking." The boy agreed, as if it were obvious. It seemed they would make up. I glanced back at them for a moment before continuing.
