The club was packed and filled with people, loud music, drinks and people doing whatever sort of obscene acts you could think of in a club. Anyone could quickly tell that this wasn't Atushi's scene. Forget that his expression as he looked around was one of distaste, but he certainly looked out of place in his well-tailored and ironed suit and tie. He really didn't want to be here, but he made a promise, and he intended to keep it. He had done enough with breaking promises in his life time.
He was still-and would continue-regretting breaking the most important promises he had ever made in his life…the feeling of someone hitting him was enough to jolt him out of his sad reverie as he turned back to glare at whoever it was…but there were tons of people here, and they were dancing and having the time of their lives…so who hit him would probably have danced away from where he stood-and besides, he was in their way. This was a club and he knew that where he was standing was going to make it inevitable for him not to get hit. It also
wouldn't make sense to look for who hit him in such a loud crowd of people, or try to pick a
fight.
There was also the fact that he didn't have time for stuff like that was so very unworthy of his time, and the fact that he had to be careful in order not to shatter the reputation that he and most of all, his family, had managed to build for so many years.
Deciding he was going to kill Shimura when he saw him, he made his way over to a less
noisy and crowded area to bring out his phone to contact Shimura, stoically refusing and turning down-with a bone chilling glare-lewd invitations made to him by some bold and obviously drunk women who-without needing any one to tell them twice, moved away quickly at his look that conveyed more killing intent than was necessary for a refusal. Hatake Atushi was more than just a handsome CEO…he was a cold hearted and stone-cold arrogant jerk.
The phone rang for a few minutes before the call was finally answered by none other than
Shimura himself. "Hey man…you are here early." To an ordinary ear, Shimura's voice
sounded pretty normal but to someone like Atushi who has known him almost all his life, he knew his friend was shit drunk and wasted. The knowledge alone was enough to give Atushi a headache. Again, it may sound really weird to an ordinary ear who didn't know a thing. But for Atushi who knew what his friend's drunkenness meant, it was enough to give him a headache.
A drunk Shimura was a nightmare, and getting him home was another nightmare too. But it had to be done. So, with a pained and tired sigh, Atushi, with a heavy and unwilling voice, asked the much-dreaded question… "Where are you Shimura?"
"Upstairs…" was the only and slurred and simple reply Shimura gave before the call went off but it was enough for Atushi. He knew that the upstairs his friend was talking about was the VVIP arena that was meant for people of very, very high status and it wasn't a place just anyone could enter and the only reason Shimura was there in the first place was because the club actually belonged to him, it was just one of the many businesses that Shimura's clan or family had, along with the ones he brought up himself. So yes, Shimura was also an heir, just like Atushi. The only difference between them was that while Atushi was a workaholic, Shimura was more of a playboy.
Sighing with nothing more than absolute annoyance and frustration, Atushi quickly made his way "upstairs" and was not in anyway stopped or hindered by any of the security since they all knew him not only as a CEO or heir to the Hatake corps, but also as a very close friend of their boss. Nodding his head absentmindedly in return to their silent greetings, Atushi wasted no further time on entering the VVIP area in search for Shimura-who luckily for Atushi, was spotted easily and quickly, quietly sitting all by himself with a shit load of empty beer bottles along with some unopened ones deposited at the table in his front.
Cursing violently under his breath, Atushi quickly made his way to where his friend sat and was fortunate enough to get to him on time to collect the beer filled glass that Shimura was just about to drown himself in.
"Hey! Give that back!" Shimura yelled in protest and drunken anger. Trying hard-yet failing miserably to stand on his feet to wrestle his glass of beer from his friend's tight and unyielding grip.
"What the hell is wrong with you Shimura?" Atushi snapped loudly in anger, drawing the
attention of a few people in the room but Atushi was too angry to care, and Shimura was too drunk to care or notice either.
"Nothing that concerns you. Now hand over the fucking beer!" Shimura snapped but Atushi was having none of that bullshit and he made it pretty clear with how he tossed the glass of beer far away from both of them, uncaring about the mess it would make-it was going to be taken care of anyways- and grabbed the few things of Shimura that was on where he sat and started pulling him along as 'gently' as he could.
"The only thing you are permitted to do right now is to get your drunken ass moving, so that I can take you home."
"Home? As in your house?"
"Hell no! Now move it!" with much effort and annoyance, Atushi was able to get his friend
moving, his annoyance increasing further when Shimura decided to lean all his drunken
weight on him. Honestly, it was only so little Atushi could do, not to give into the urge of
letting his friend fall flat on his face.
Fortunately for him, Shimura's security helped make their exit a smooth and easy one and Atushi couldn't help but feel more relieved when he was finally able to get rid of the drunken weight of his friend by depositing him roughly into the back seat of his car. Paying no heed to the groans and complaints of his friend at such harsh treatment of him. Nodding his head in thanks to some members of the security team that helped him, Atushi quickly made his way over to the driver's seat to start their journey to Shimura's house.
"Ugh…" Shimura complained from the back seat… "This is so annoying…. how could you just come and ruin my fun like that?"
"You've had too much to drink I see." Atushi replied dryly and continued with his driving.
"No, seriously man. Why are you here..." this…he gestured vaguely towards the direction of the club "this isn't really your scene."
Now Atushi was really pissed. "Oh, you are definitely right, this really is not my scene and I wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for someone…" he made a sharp left turn and continued
"I wouldn't be here if someone hadn't messaged me to ask me out for a couple of drinks. I was perfectly fine with doing important work at my office."
"You mean wasting your life away behind that desk of yours?" Shimura asked offhandedly
and Atushi narrowed his eyes a little in anger, and increased his speed, before replying to Shimura's taunts.
"No, I was doing important work." His voice was tight with anger, but Shimura wasn't fazed ine bit. His scoff and his answer-if nothing, showed his level of nonchalance towards his friend's anger.
"Argue it all you want, but the truth remains the same. And that is, that you are wasting your life away behind that desk of yours with too much work."
"And you getting drunk every night isn't wasting your life?" Atushi questioned indignantly.
"Touche." Shimura said quietly and kept quiet through the rest of the ride, something Atushi was more than grateful for. They soon got to Shimura's house and Atushi gave Haku-Shimura's gateman-a nod of appreciation as he drove into the big compound and smoothly parked his car in a way that made it easier for him to leave when he was leaving.
He got down and proceeded to the backseat where his friend was and wasn't surprise to see his friend fast asleep. With a mixture of a movement and annoyance at which she lets out a scuff before proceeding to shake his friend-violently awake.
"Hey hey wake up we're here."
"Huh...what?" Shimura's slot drunkenly his head still face down on the car seat.
Atushi sighed again, taking a few seconds to mentally prepare himself for the tax he was about to do and without further ado, he moved to help his friend get out of the car giving Shimura the chance to lean on Atushi once again, much to his chagrin. Together, Atushi and Shimura made their way slowly but steadily into the house. About the open door of his car because he was sure that Haku would take care of it.
When they fully got inside, atushi decided that he had had enough of Shimura and his nonsense so he "gently" deposited his friend on one of the couches in the living room before finding a couch where he could also rest.
He never knew how tired he was until he sat down and felt a wave of tiredness and sleepiness hit him with full force. The urge to sleep was so great that he knew he was only going to be asking for trouble if he stubbornly refused to give in to the urge of the sleep, and drive to his office instead.
So, as his body continued to become more like lead with each passing second, admist of his fast waning consciousness, he consoled and decided within himself, that he was only going to rest for a few hours. A few hours and he would get out of here, and get back to his office...his desk... doing important work.
Only for a few hours...
